We are a small hobbyist breeding business currently working with ball pythons. However we plan to make a leap into expansion in the future and hope to add other species to our collection of quality! The purpose of this tumblr is to share our love of these animals with like minded people in a way only the internet can provide. While we're happy to do business with individuals we meet through tumblr, this is not meant to be a 'business' site, but a casual look 'behind the scenes' if you will. So grab a seat and a snake to snuggle and make yourself at home! All herp lovers welcome!

Unfortunately, the two single gene sugars (the top two pics in this post) were lost today 😔 I was really hoping they would make it. I was getting especially attached to the first one. The other two still seem to be doing well, however. Hopefully they’ll continue to do well. I will be really upset if I lose this entire clutch!

So I realized it’s been a while since I posted the egg pic, and here’s why. I noticed on the fourth day that there was something wrong with these gorgeous little babies: all of them had hardbelly, which is a condition that is fatal if nothing is done about it. Even when “treated” successfully, odds of survival aren’t great. However, it’s been a couple of days now and so far, so good. They are absolutely the tiniest babies I have ever personally seen. The largest two are only 33 grams in weight. They are by no means out of the woods yet, but I’ve done all that can be done for them. Now I just have to hope they will start eating soon.

Introducing our latest clutch, which gave us one enchi ivory, an enchi yellow belly, one enchi spider, one normal, and two stinger bellies! All of them will be available for sale when they’re ready to be rehomed.

So. I found this yesterday while cleaning and taking weights. This clutch came from a female that I bred once then decided I really didn’t want to breed her after all because I really didn’t like the weight she was at. Epic fail on my part, I assumed she wouldn’t go because she was only bred once and she was a bit on the small side. She proved me wrong. They look pretty gnarly on the outside, but as you can see, they look absolutely wonderful on the inside. Now that they’re in the incubator, all should be well. We’ll see what happens! It looks like I’ll get my sugar combos this year after all.
The pairing was male sugar to female mochi (enchi mojave).

Why are you breeding morphs known to be strongly linked to neurological issues?
I assume you’re referring to the spider gene, in which case the answer is because they’re beautiful and contrary to popular belief, their quality of life isn’t any noticeably less than a normal’s in the vast majority of cases. For every YouTube video posted of a spider corkscrewing, I could show you five more spiders who don’t even so much as bob. It’s a non-issue that’s been massively blown out of proportion imo. Especially since a lot of the people who complain have never even owned a spider before. Someone claiming that a creature they have no experience with has no quality of life is a little presumptuous isn’t it?
That being said, we have never exactly kept our love of the spider gene secret, even in the face of opposition. If you’re referring to something else you’ll have to be more specific, because as far as I know, we don’t have any other genes that are linked to neurological issues. Speaking of which, how do you feel about champagnes? Champagnes are known wobblers as well, yet everyone focuses on spiders. Why? In some instances, they seem even more popular than spiders, but I never see anyone complaining that they shouldn’t exist. There are other genes as well, but none of them catch the amount of flack that spiders do. Just some food for thought.

How much will the new snakes be?
Posting this in case any one else has similar questions!
That depends on the individual! The three genes will go for more than any of the others, and the fire will go for a little more than the normals. We haven’t seriously discussed pricing yet just because it will be quite a while before they’re ready to go to new homes. I will update when we decide on firm prices for these guys. If there’s one you would really like to have and you’re interested in putting a hold on it, we can talk details. Thanks for your interest!
