Sinners is an excellent horror film for many reasons, but to me the most central is that it is horror with something interesting to say and ask. The film explores the ways in which colonialism, white supremacy, and racial capitalism impact how people form relationships, build community, create art, practice spirituality, connect to history, and value other people. It also has something interesting to ask about what it means to be someone who is part of a population that is considered ontologically always dying and already dead.
As you consider these themes, I would like to ask you to extend your thoughts to Fadel. Like the fictional protagonist Sammie, Fadel is a talented, kind, young adult who has dreams for his life and enduring love for his family and community.
He is a disabled and injured Palestinian in Gaza, part of a population who much of the world reduces to their suffering and deaths, as if their early death is an inevitability. It is not. It is preventable.
He is alive right now. You can message him, check in on him, extend your love and care to him ( @fadel-dani ). He needs some money to get to a hospital resourced enough to treat his injuries after a bombing. I know you can empathize with being in pain, with health care being inaccessible and stunningly expensive. You have common humanity with him. You understand him.
Fadel is not a story. His future is not fated or scripted or set in stone. The way his life unfolds is entirely dependent on the social systems around him and the decisions of people who have resources, especially people like us who are not in active genocide, who get pay checks every couple weeks or every month.
Your decisions matter. Please help him out.
His campaign is vetted by: @gazavetters list (#197) and @90-ghost and @a-shade-of-blue

Hello everyone 👋
I am Mohammed Al-Anqar from the northern Gaza Strip, married to Walaa, I am a father of four children. Zeina 13 years old, Salma 12 years old, Omar 6 years old, Batoul 1 year old. I live in a tent with my family.😢🥺

My family and I are facing unimaginable hardships due to the ongoing war in Gaza. We have lost our home, my career, and our sense of security. Now, we live in a small tent, trying to survive every day amidst the chaos and destruction.
Before the war. But that life was shattered. Now we are desperate to find safety and start over. But we need your help. We are trying to raise money to escape Gaza and rebuild our lives in a place where we can finally find peace.
My home used to be a symbol of hope, now it is nothing but broken walls and rubble. I have just finished building our home, the place where I finally feel safe. But in the blink of an eye, the ongoing war destroyed everything. The sound of explosions filled the air, and I fled with nothing but the clothes on my back. Now, where our memories and dreams once lived, all that remains is destruction.

I am really worried about Samir. Samir was recently shot in the stomach, which ruptured his spleen and liver. Samir's father Ahmed tells me that Samir had to have part of his spleen removed, and now he needs another operation to remove another part of his organ. Samir has been screaming day and night due to the pain. In addition, Samir leg was severely injured that it might have to be amputated. He has fallen into a coma AGAIN.
Samir may die if he doesn't get the medical treatment he needs. And he will NOT be able to get the surgery he needs if they don't receive your help to cover the fees for travel and medical treatment.
Samir is in a coma right now and he needs to undergo those medical treatments RIGHT NOW. Ahmed has already lost his younger son Saeed and his son-in-law. You can help him save Samir. Please help.

Photo

A young American woman soaks in Adolf Hitler’s bathtub, her muddy boots staining his bath mat, and an official portrait of the Fuehrer sits on the tub’s edge. The woman is Lee Miller, the only female combat photographer in Europe during World War Two. She is pictured in Hitler’s Munich apartment on April 30, 1945, by fellow war correspondent David Scherman. “This was actually taken on the day that Hitler committed suicide, although Lee Miller didn’t know that until after the event,” said Hilary Roberts, research curator of photography at the museum, who put together the show. Shortly before, Miller had toured and photographed the Dachau concentration camp. She and Scherman had then made their way to Munich, by this time under U.S. occupation, and headed for Hitler’s apartment, where they spent the night with a group of other people, the curator said. “The key objects in the photograph are Lee Miller’s boots on Hitler’s bath mat, which when she arrived was pristine white, and when she left was covered with dirt from Dachau,” she said. Miller walked away with more than just a souvenir snapshot of herself in Hitler’s tub. She also filched a few of his mistress Eva Braun’s personal belongings, which are on view in the exhibition: a smiling portrait of Braun, her powder compact, her large Art Deco-style perfume bottle, and her four-piece rose-patterned desk accessory set. Before the war, Miller was a model, a Surrealist photographer, and a fashion photographer. Yet her concentration camp pictures are among the ones she is most famous for. Colorized photo.

Please help Nour and his two children
Nour @noor509 needs to provide for his young children, Louay and Alma, who need, among other things, food, milk, and diapers. Like a lot of other parents in Gaza, this is very difficult for Noor as they are currently living in a tent while under siege and facing danger at any given moment, and the prices of basic goods remain exorbitantly high. This is all, as you can imagine, taking a huge toll on Nour's own well-being.
They previously had a GFM set up by Andrea @/roadimusprime, which GFM closed just because the method of transferring the money to Noor changed. The previous campaign was verified by Ahmed @/90-ghost.
Please help out this family in any way you can.

My Journey to Escape the War in Gaza
My name is Abdelmajed. I never imagined I’d be sharing my story like this, but life in Gaza has become unbearable. I am a survivor of the war here, and in the blink of an eye, everything I once knew—my home, my safety, my community—was ripped away from me.

The war has transformed Gaza into a graveyard of broken dreams. The buildings that once stood as symbols of life and resilience are now piles of rubble. Every corner is filled with the echoes of explosions. Every moment is shrouded in uncertainty. There is no security. There is no stability. There is no light at the end of the tunnel.
Basic needs have become luxuries. Food is scarce. Clean water is even scarcer. Hospitals are overwhelmed and under-resourced, and there is almost no medical care to be found. Every night, families go to bed hungry, praying they’ll wake up to see another day. The cost of basic necessities has skyrocketed, and it’s become a daily battle just to survive.
I’ve seen things I never thought possible—standing in long lines for a piece of bread, rationing every drop of water, and watching my people suffer in silence. I have lost everything—my home, my safety, my dignity.
Escape from Gaza is my only hope, but it’s almost impossible without financial help. The cost of evacuation is far beyond my means, and without support, I’m trapped in a warzone with no way out.
I’m reaching out to you now, in the hopes that someone, anyone, can help. I am not asking for luxury. I am asking for a chance—just a chance—to live. A chance to escape this never-ending cycle of fear, destruction, and loss. A chance to rebuild my life somewhere safe, where I can begin again, where I can find hope once more.
Any amount you can give will help me get closer to safety. Even the smallest donation will make a difference—it could be the lifeline I need to survive. If you are unable to donate, please share my story. The more people who hear it, the better the chance that I can find the support I desperately need.
Your kindness and support mean the world to me. You’re not just helping me escape a war; you’re giving me a chance to live, to rebuild, to breathe again.
Thank you for listening. Thank you for caring.

Please don't vote without sharing!
Right now, my friend Ibrahim Aburakhia @aburakhiaibrahim is suffering from an allergic reaction to chemicals in the bombs the IOF has been dropping on Ghazzah. His hands and arms are painfully swollen and irritated. The reaction has been causing Ibrahim a lot of pain, and keeps spreading through his body. Unfortunately, Ibrahim isn't even able to focus on getting treatment and recovering, as the situation him and his family are in is dire.
Prices for basic food and water in Ghazzah are extremely high. Ibrahim's family of 28 people are living on the brink of starvation, unable to get the food they need. Donations to their campaign have been slow, making it even harder for them to purchase food.
The Aburakhia family has a chance to escape the nightmare they are living through. They have been approved for family reunification to join relatives in Canada, who they have not gotten to see in years. However, before they can do so, they have to leave Ghazzah through the crossing and reach Egypt. Unfortunately, passing the crossing can cost up to $5,000 per person, and saving money is difficult when even a bag of flour can cost hundreds of dollars in Ghazzah.
$15,423 / $30,000 CAD
Even after raising funds for over a year, Ibrahim has only reached about half of his total goal. This isn't nearly enough for his family to survive right now, let alone evacuate and reach safety.
Ibrahim just wants for him and his family to survive. That should not be too big an ask. I ask you to share and donate. Please, support the Aburakhia family in whatever way you can!
