A Public Statement from CAYA Pagan Congregation
Come As You Are (CAYA) Pagan Congregation is a matriarchal, eclectic, interfaith, open, drop-in congregation in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our mission is to create safe, loving, magical space for those who wish to participate in our community rituals, public service initiatives, and social events.
The CAYA Council of Elders recently followed up on allegations of abuse by our former Presiding High Priestess, Jessica Matthews, aka Yeshe Rabbit. Jessica resigned, and as a result of her choice to resign while under investigation, she has been given the status of “not in good standing” within our community. CAYA Pagan Congregation has continued to actively examine and engage in open discussion around the issues that have arisen as a result of these allegations.
We would like to state clearly that CAYA has a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding violence, violent or threatening speech, harassment, or sexual assault by members of our Clergy. As a community, we will continue to collectively review and actively explore opportunities for improvement in our organizational culture, policies and processes.  Our exploration and review will help us to ensure that we honor our commitment to providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for our members and the public. We are committed to co-creating a culture where people feel safe, heard, and empowered to come forward with any issues or concerns, regardless of anyone's individual role or position.
Blessed be.

Celebrate the Full Blue Moon Lunar Eclipse in Leo 2018
Wednesday, January 31 is the Full Moon in Leo, the second Full Moon within the month of January and therefore a Blue Moon. It is also a total Lunar Eclipse, the first Blue Moon Eclipse in 150 years. It is a powerful time both to accept the truth of our own shadow and to face the reality of our own radiance, realizing that true pride and true humility are the same thing - knowing who you are. In CAYA, we are celebrating the Silent Moon - How can we find silent time to restore and regenerate our enthusiasm for our lives/work/relationships? Molly Blue Dawn

Celebrate the Full Moon in Cancer 2018
Tuesday, January 2 is the Full Moon in Cancer, a time to let our hearts swell with grand hopes and naïve desires, feeling the full scope of our own longings even when they are painful, and embracing the power of our sincerest intentions, even while knowing that we may fall short of fulfilling them. It’s time to stop shriveling ourselves to fit into the limited, distorted space we have been allowed to grow into, and instead re-shaping the world like a green sprout breaking through a concrete sidewalk, tender but unstoppable! In CAYA, we are celebrating the Yearning Moon - How can our personal gifts and generosity improve our community/world?

CAYA Sprouts New Moon Stargazing Guide - December 2017
by Shell Selvans Blessed New Moon! In the coming week or two, I welcome you to go outside with your family at 7:00PM or later and enjoy the Midwinter sky. This is the best time of year to stargaze with the littlest ones, since the sky will be dark before their bedtime! In the early evening... To the west, you will catch the Summer Triangle and its associated constellations sinking below the horizon. Overhead you will find Cassiopeia. To the east, some of the brightest stars in our sky are all rising together, called the Winter Hexagon on the star chart. This group includes Betelgeuse and Rigel in Osiris/Orion, Isis/Sirius in Canis Major, Procyon in Canis Minor, Castor and Pollux in Gemini, Capella in Auriga/The Charioteer, and Aldebaran in Taurus. To the north you will find Ursa Major romping along the horizon, with the pointer stars above the horizon, pointing the way to the steady location of Polaris, the North Star. On December 21, in the northern hemisphere, we will have our longest night of the year, which I love to celebrate with some stargazing. This year, however, I will be visiting family under the southern sky instead! Much of what I will see from Mauritius (20 degrees south latitude) will be the same as what I would see back home (38 degrees north)... but I won't be able to see the bears (and North Star), and instead I'll see the Southern Cross, as well as the Magellanic clouds, which are two dwarf galaxies that orbit our own Milky Way galaxy. The following star chart can help you find your way around the sky:
Make sure to line the direction printed on the edge of it up with the direction you're facing. After 8:00PM, the stars will have rotated a bit from where they're shown. Also, you might want to find your own chart if you are on our Mother Earth somewhere other than the contiguous 48 states of the U.S., or a similar latitude. Blessed be your stargazing! If you enjoyed this and would like to connect more deeply with the stars, our magical community, and the children of the world, please join CAYA Sprouts in our final “Children of Promise” New Moon working of 2017!

Celebrate the Dark Moon in Sagittarius with the Fathers of Change
Monday, December 18, is the Dark Moon in Sagittarius, a time to take a brave and honest look into the dark corners of our closets, minds, and souls, admit to ourselves what is there that we haven’t acknowledged, do away with anything which is not in alignment with the selves we are choosing to be, and dig up the true treasures which have been hidden by our fears and aversions. Let truths which have been hidden be told. Let lies and false assumptions be revealed. Let harm which has been done to others be atoned for. Let harm which has been done to ourselves be healed. Let fear be displaced by integrity as the ruling force in our new lives, and in the new world which we are continuing to co-create! During this week, I invite you to join or support the Fathers of Change in the final month of their 2017 Dark Moon working. This is the year of the fifth element, Spirit. If you would like to share more of your experience with the Fathers of Change, you may join the Google+ community or Facebook group. You Are The Center, Molly Blue Dawn

Celebrate the Full Moon in Gemini with the Witches of Transgression
Sunday, December 3 is the Full Moon in Gemini, a time to carefully consider the stories we have been telling ourselves about our own lives and the world around us - whether they are accurate, whether they are still serving us well, and whether they are leading us where we want our lives to go - as we get ready to co-create and live a new story which may be fairer and happier for all. On Sunday evening, or during the week, I invite you to join or support the Divine Spiraling Rainbow Tribe in our Full Moon working for 2017, Witches of Transgression. In CAYA, we are celebrating the Giving Moon - How can our personal gifts and generosity improve our community/world? Born In The Fire, Molly Blue Dawn
