I’m in love with a girl that loves cats and always bares her midriff and has her cellphone covered in stickers and used to wear cowboy boots a lot and has the reddest lips (and the curliest hair) and touches open flames out of curiosity when she thinks no one’s looking and loves caramel lattes and dances like no one is watching and journals her feelings and is a master at crappy puns and wears her heart on her sleeve and prays that you’re not in love with someone else because she remembers it all too well and needs glasses to be able to see anything at all and knows a seagull named George Washington and is best friends with her mom and stands up for 14 hours straight and is useless at eating with chop sticks and is obsessed with the number thirteen and bakes the most delicious cookies and has a read-headed best friend named Abigail and reads John Green and is emotionally attached to chokers and terrified of sea urchins and dressed up as Chewbacca for Halloween and thinks sheep are rude and whips her hair around a lot when she performs and wears heels now and adores kids and received plastic flamingos one Christmas and once broke her toe mid-sprint because she was so excited about a pizza delivery and is the biggest dork and believes in kindness and goes through bohemian phases every two years and owns 25 completed diaries and watches Grey’s Anatomy religiously and always sees the best in people and…

…and she’s one of the best things to ever happen to me.

Looking back on the highlights of my life, there’s a moment I’ll never forget from a day in London about two years ago. I was in town to play the O2 and I was out shopping on my day off. My friend Ed Sheeran met up with me in this little shop where I was buying ballet shoes. He walks in and says “you have to hear this new song. I think it’s the best one I’ve ever written.” And then, as usual, he pulls out his phone and gives me headphones. I sat there on a bench in that store and heard ‘Thinking Out Loud’ for the first time, as little kids were picking out tutus and leotards next to us. Little did we know it would go on to be first dance song at countless weddings all over the world, become Ed’s biggest hit, and eventually go on to win him Song of the Year at the 2016 Grammys. Ed and I had been on tour together all year on the Red Tour and we saw each other almost every day. I lived for the moments he would burst into my dressing room with a new song to play me. It happened so often that it became normal, and I don’t think he ever knew how much it meant to me that he wanted me to hear his songs first. I don’t think he ever knew how inspired I was by his drive and passion to constantly create new art. But it’s his 25th birthday today, so I’m saying it now. You deserve everything you have, and everything you will continue to achieve, Ed.

@taylorswift I just wanted to say that I am still in shock of your amazing performance on July 14th. It was the best night of my life (after the RED tour) and I wanted to thank you. I have been a fan since I was 4! This past year has been a tough one, your music has helped me through a lot of if. This is honestly just a huge thank you. I have literally grown up around you, and you help me be a better person everyday. Your clean speeches, you coming onto tumblr, you being a silly cupcake, has all helped me. Especially the night I screamed sooo loud at you. You put your eyes straight on me. You were about to play All Too Well, and I lost it. That was the best part of my night. You stared at me. It really helped me. I remember as soon as I walked out of that building, I started crying even harder than I already was. Again, Thank you.
