to be honest i think the concept of flirting with and then getting rejected by video game characters is generally more interesting than a one-dimensional high enough friendship quantification + specific flirting dialogue option = marriage approach, including when this is specifically for reasons of incompatible sexualities, but then a video game designer is like I will allow you mechanically to express gay interest in this character but they are in fact #straight and the only possible answer is Well, you're wrong

Dragon Age: yeah so basically in the main canon Hawke does stab a suicidal man he's known for a decade in the stomach and then leave him to die after said man pretty explicitly states that he would no longer like to be alive. They feel no internal conflict about this btw and neither does anyone else.

i think elthina saying that like oh you know it was the maker who saved ferelden, and if hawke argues that it was the HOF, not the maker, who saved ferelden, she says well the maker put them there, i think. could somewhat be indicative of how chantry sees this whole thing
