Pieck and Reiner’s dynamic (or lack thereof) is so funny to me, because you would think there would be more importance placed on their relationship considering how they’re the two characters who care for the kids the most and how they’re the last two warriors really fighting, but instead they’re just, like, coworkers.

Ranking the characters I’ve met since I started playing Date Everything! on how much I like them so far. (I have 2 friendships and 1 hatred)

30. Lux: hated them immediately. Only character I have reached hatred status with and it only took 2 interactions.

29. Sam: she’s just… so annoying.

28. Johnny Splash: I found him charming at first, and was even trying to romance him, but then he got mad bc I was trying to give him constructive criticism and it kind of gave me the ick. I did reach friendship status by simply going along with his bs though.

27. Betty: She’s gorgeous, but I don’t like how she keeps biting her lip. Creepy.

26. Jean-Loo Pissoir: love-hate thing with him. Hate his gimmick, but he’s also kind of charming.

25. Maggie: Annoying.

24. Abel: I just don’t like his vibe. I do hope I can get him and Kopi together though.

23. Wyndolyn: just met her, but again don’t like her vibe.

22. Phoenicia: indifferent.

21. Keyes: indifferent.

20. Dunk Shuttlecock: The jock thing is annoying.

19. Shelley: same problem as dunk

18. Diana: just met her, not sure how to feel.

17. Beau: eh.

16. Kopi: she’s nice, just kind of boring.

15. Tyrell: same as Kopi.

14. Captain Jaques Pierrot: not sure how to feel about him, but he’s kind of charming.

13. Lyric: he’s ok.

12. Telly: slightly annoying, but they’re trying their best.

11. Dante: he’s cringe but in a kind of sweet way

10. River: I did accidentally click on her when I was trying to talk to Sinclair, so that was a fun surprise. Kind of want to romance her, but the identity crisis is a little annoying.

9. Skylar: she’s my girl in a completely platonic npc guide sort of way

8. Curt and Rod: I like their interactions with each other, but my character butting in just makes me feel like I’m third wheeling.

7. Dorian: like his voice and his vibe. Only interacted with him once though.

6. Tinfoilhat: idk, I just find him kind of funny

5. Nightmare: I am currently trying to romance her

4. Reggie: fun character. I’m trying to get him to hate me, I think that’s his version of flirting. I assume he’s operating on some sort of homestuck system .

3. Tina: I’m going to get you that throuple, girl. I like her voice.

2. Sinclaire: conceptually interesting.

1. Fantina: She’s so cute, I’m going to romance her.

I love Reiner bc he is three mental breakdowns in a trenchcoat who was tasked with fixing a millennia long war at age 12. And he predictably failed, miserably. Thats my favorite doomed failure guy! He sucks <3

owari no seraph is interesting because the mangaka has managed to write a genuinely compelling and interesting love story between two guys, who have been reincarnated side by side over and over again; intertwined on a celestial level, jumping in at the risk of dying for one another and then has also like...tried to push in a token shounen romance but all this has done from what ive seen is create frustration and unintentional comedy, even moreso than it usually does

shinoa: god i fucking love him im desperately and dangerously devoted. he has not shown me romantic interest back and in fact chose a guy over getting together romantically with me

shinoa: i dont mind becoming a monster if it means saving my one true love who the narrative seems to regret setting me up with. i have lost all of my other character traits.
