artwork in exchange for donations
http://www.gofundme.com/6p26tk
My girlfriend of of 4 years recently got news that her dad is dying of cancer. Her family doesn't have much money and the bills for her dads treatment are a real problem. This is especially true due to the fact that his condition is terminal and he is the main bread winner of the household. In exchange for donations (big or small) I am doing requests. If you'd like to see your character realized in my style, a watercolor to put up in your house, or if you'd like to see your story illustrated, even if you'd like a portrait of your dog or cat I'll do anything I can in exchange for donations. Please if you don't want anything at least share/reblog this on your facebook, your DA, tumblr anything.
just donate under a name (real or username) and send me a message with that name and your request.

In December of 2013, my dad, Kevin Jenkins, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. When he told us a few days after Christmas (he didn't want to ruin it for us), we were in shock. Especially since Dad seemed fine. Unfortunately, Dad does not seem fine anymore. Even worse, the size and placement o...
For everyone who doesn't know, my girlfriend's dad was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. This is incredibly hard on the whole family since he is the primary bread winner in the home. His condition has worsened ever since they found ANOTHER tumor (in his intestines). He is recovering from having that tumor surgically removed. Further treatment can help to ease his suffering but that's not something that the family can afford. Please help, please share. Even a 5 or 10 dollar donation helps. If you cant donate at least share it

Did this one for Sarita she suggested the Noivern an let me use her trainer. In other news I just put up a the first 2 parts of a big tutorial on process. If you know me from school you already know everything in it. If you are just interested in art or you are self taught check it out it might hold something useful for you. The piece above is about 10X12 in watercolor + PS CS6

Do you do sketches before you start your illustrations, or do you just sort of jump right in? Also, how long does it take usually to finish? P.S. Your art is amazing!
Usually I’ll start with a bunch of thumbnails.Thumbnailing is a great way to keep your composition down to simple shapes and not get lost in the details. If the thumbnail doesn’t work, basing a sketch out of it is probably not a good idea. When I have one I like, I scan it and blow it up in photoshop, move around the elements until the composition is satisfying (that can take a looong time — move it one millimeter to the right..hmmm no up one millimeter..hmmm still not perfect etc etc)… and when I’m happy with the composition, sketch over it.Even though mistakes are fixable —to a certain extent— it’s impossible or really hard to make big changes (move something, make something bigger, rotate a character… stuff that takes about 3 seconds in photoshop) once you start the ink process; so the one thing I make sure before transferring the lineart on the board is that the composition is tight and everything is exactly where I want it to be.So, on the sketch itself, everything is where I want it to be, but certainly not as detailed as it’s going to be in the final. I print it out and transfer it on the board with carbon paper. All I need are the general shapes and then, I improvise a lot of the details. Here’s an example. 1. A very basic sketch.2. Basic sketch after feedback from AD3. Polished sketch4. Value mock-up5. Final

Sableye! This wa heavily inspired by Gollums design, especially in that opening scene where you see him on a rock in his cave pool with the beam of light framing him. I feel like doing these pokemon is really helping me improve on my digital painting. I just gotta make sure I dont stop m watercolors. I think this is the last one for a little bit, Im gonna work on another book illustration next. This painting really helped me see the value of using heavy references when creating natural formations.

These a pretty great portraits tho. I wish you had put in the indication of texture in the hair of the girl in blue (like you did in the first). Other than that these are great, I admire the way you rendered the skin, specially the lips in the second painting.
A couple of portrait studies. Drawing too many creatures, not enough people.

pretty dang cool

So I’ve also been working on these shadowboxes lately and they’re super fun to make. This is the first one I’ve finished.
