“it’s … like a slogan?” scott laughed. she seemed rather young, she probably had no idea what the hell he was talking about. he would tell her not to worry about it, but then she agreed. “oh, yeah?” scott chuckled softly then licked his lips. well, if addy was going to have her phone, he had no reason to deny himself any. “just tell me when.”
amma blinked owlishly. “oh so this is like a thing thing.” her thoughts wandered as she looked at the man, was he joking with her? she was bad at knowing when people were messing with her. “so we like set up a time and place, like a drug deal?”

“good, an even better motivation for you to not go on your magical cult adventure, amma.” she put her hands on her hips. “i’m not going back.”
“it’s not a-” amma was flustered, face red and hands clenched, it was a telltale sign of her anger that she had no doubt tabi was acquainted with. her voice went softer “just because you left doesn’t mean it’s stupid, please i’ve been looking for you for months tab.”

“ this might seem like a strange request and maybe it is, but do you think you can help me figure out how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop? i just have really been dying to know since i was a kid and well i have zero patience when it comes to actually figuring it out. ”
amma’s eyebrows rose curiously. she was no stranger to pointless questions but this seemed to extend from the farthest reaches of the man’s boredom. “you want me to...lick a tootsie pop for you?” her good mormon breeding reared its ugly head as she smiled. “sure, why not.”

dimitribelmont:
Dimitri raised his eyebrows. So it was religion, then. It had been one of the options that had entered his mind, but one of the less likely ones. “Well, that’s pretty interesting,” he hummed. His mother had been raised catholic, but he’d never been forced or chosen any religion growing up. “Two years is a long time, though. Where are they sending you? Somewhere fun?”
something inside craved his response and approval. to her he was a light, illuminating everything she couldn’t have. with all of his sly words aaron’s face faded in her mind. “i’m going to georgia, the country not the state. it’s where i was born actually. i was adopted when i was a baby.”

dimitribelmont:
Dimitri would be lying if he said that he wasn’t intrigued about where she came from where parties weren’t allowed. He could only think of a few places. “What, strict parents or something else?” He asked. “You’re going on a mission, though? You a secret member of the IMF or something? Working with Tom Cruise to take down the bad guys?”
amma laughed lightly. “you could say that i guess. i live in a mormon community back home so we’re pretty heavily involved with the church. it’s kind of why i’m here, to bring tabi back.” she grinned. “mission is going to spread the word, as fun as working with tom cruise sounds. you go to somewhere in need of the truth for two years.”

dimitribelmont:
Dimitri honestly didn’t mind spending some more time with the girl– she was younger than him, yes, but she was friendly and pretty, and she seemed to want to spend more time with him, too, so who was he to deny that? “Then you’ve got it,” he gave her a small smile. “Are you only at this party to find this Tabi, then?”
even the simplest questions felt intimate from his tongue. it made amma bristle with curiosity, she wondered if he was like this with every girl he met. “yeah parties aren’t really allowed at home. i’m not even going to be here for long, just until i get tabi to come home. then i’m going on mission.”

dimitribelmont:
“Waste my time?” He shook his head. He was good at avoiding things that would waste his time and when he’d offered to help Amma find Tabi, he’d known instantly that it wasn’t a time waster. “You could never waste my time. And even if she is off somewhere, you wouldn’t want my company anymore?”
she hated how she jumped at that. she was so thirsty for affection, for the validation that she’d never gotten that his words were like the sun, and she was icarus burning her wax wings. she could never waste his time. “yeah.” she said softly. “i’d like your company, if you’re okay with it.” something about him willed her to be honest.

dimitribelmont:
It was difficult for Dimitri not to chuckle as he watched her searching for Tabi, trying to see over and through the crowds of people around them. “Yeah, no seminars for that kinda stuff, sweetheart. It’s all from my head,” he explained, before grinning at her apology. “You’re good, don’t worry yourself. No need to apologize.”
his presence was overwhelming, demanding of the space in the room and creating an impenetrable bubble around him. because flirt as he might, amma was amma and he was dimitri. the line still remained drawn in the sand between them. she envied the lackadaisical confidence he carried himself with. “i don’t want to waste your time, she’s probably already off somewhere else.”

dimitribelmont:
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Amma,” he replied as he walked with her. “That’s a pretty name – like name like nature, don’t they say?” He was being serious– the name was pretty and she was a pretty girl. And why shouldn’t he tell the truth? “I’m Dimitri.”
amma bounced on her heels peering through the throng of the crowd. still no sign of tabi. her face screwed up incomprehensibly and she looked at him. “d’you just come up with this stuff off the top of your head or is there like a seminar for it?” she paused. “i’m sorry, i shouldn’t have said that. it’s very nice to meet you dimitri.”

dimitribelmont:
Dimitri chuckled, sensing her sudden nerves– he hadn’t intended for that to happen, but he wasn’t all mad that it had. “No, you’re pretty, which means we’re looking for someone pretty, too,” he mused. “Not as pretty as you, I imagine, but up there.” He smirked as he followed her over to where she’d decided to look, and shook his head a little, amused.
her heart flipped uncomfortably into her stomach. she wanted to ground herself from his words. how could she leave the church for a week and the first man she found attractive make her question it? aaron’s sweet voice had never make the butterflies in her stomach move. “thanks.” she said quietly. “i’m amma...by the way.”

Chuckling at her words, Dimitri nodded. “She looks like you, huh?” He breathed. “So, she’s pretty, then? I’m looking for someone as pretty as you, but more adult.”
“i uh-” amma flushed with an unpracticed response. she toyed nervously with the simple engagement ring on her finger. “no, i’m not, she’s not…pretty.” she chastised her tongue. “let’s go look over there!”

Dimitri nodded and gave her a small smile. She was cute. “All right then, you need ‘em urgently, so, let’s go and look together, shall we?” He hummed. “You wanna tell me what this Tabi Gardner looks like so I know what to look for?”
amma relaxed instantly. it was easy to be around people like this who seemed so effortlessly able to take control of a situation. “oh she looks like me, mostly, except like, more adult?” she gestured to her own face.

dimitribelmont:
Dimitri leant down a little to hear the girl better and nodded, understanding her as she spoke. “Yeah, no– I haven’t seen any Tabi Gardner around here. But if you need ‘em urgently, I won’t object to helping you look,” he hummed.
his cadence startled her, rough and tumble, unlike any other man she’d known back in salt lake city. “yeah i’d say, urgently, very urgently i need them.” she rambled. “thank you.”

“No, I don’t know who that is.” How’d he got here, Grayson had no idea. He was just walking home from the ranch when a pretty girl dragged him into the house party. She was dull as a cement block and he was heading out when he saw a frantic look on this young girl’s face. She had to be at least the same age as Ellie and he’d hope the same grace and concern he was extending to her, someone would do for his sister if she were in ever such a predicament. “Do you have a photo of her?”
amma’s anxiety was through the roof, nervous anticipation buzzing through her fingertips. “i don’t have a picture i-” she thought for a moment, weighing her choices. “she looks like me, but just more, sexy?” her voice was unsure even as she spoke.

piper nodded, a drink in one hand. “yeah, tabi! she rides with my aunt. i’m sure she’s around here somewhere. i’ll help you.”
“oh you know anna?” amma said, relieved that at least someone she knew by proxy was there. she felt so out of place among the crowd. “thanks for the help.”

jopress:
Jo was making her way across the room with two cups in hand. One was for her and the other for her dearest childhood friend. The two got invited to this festivity and Johanna already desired to call it a night. She certainly loved herself a good party, but she also didn’t have the patience to deal with lustful and sex-craved individuals at this rate for the remainder of her life. As she was passing by she noticed a younger girl asking someone who completely ignored her and stepped into help, per her nature. “I don’t know who that is, but maybe I can help you look for her! What’s your name and who are you in relation to her?”
amma sighed with relief as the blonde spoke. she’d been stressed to the point of tears attempting to get a spare word out of the partygoers. most of whom were only concerned with how close to dead they could get without actually dying. “thank you so much. my name is amma gardner, i’m her sister.”
