i've been around a while and this is still one of my favourite homestuck AUs concept-wise, the gorgeous art is a nice bonus too!

I only just thought to look at the inbox here- I’m so sorry 😭 I have no idea how long you’ve been waiting. 💔

But tysm!! If I ever get back into homestuck enough to focus on this again I’ll def change some things around. Mainly because this au is based off of my story Ambivalence!! The home planet is even under the same name, Amphitrite! (Hence Amphitian) Being that it’s based off of my ever evolving story/world, old concepts no longer work for the theme I’m going for.

But still, tysm for the sweet words!!! A lot of visual stuff is pretty similar I’d say! Tho one of the biggest visual changes to the world would probably be the color palette of the environment. Would def hint towards more blacks, whites, golds, and pinks!

Is off-color seadwellers a common mutation since the planet is mostly water?

No! Off color seadwellers are not common at all! Only fuchsias and violets are sea dwellers. Any other would be classes as a mutation punishable by the government!

GUILDS/FACTIONS/COURTS OF AMPHITRITE

Imperial Court:

The IMPERIAL COURT is reserved specifically for trolls hatched within the boarders of the home planet Amphitrite. Trolls outside this hatch zone are not eligible for any imperial roles.

The IMPERIAL COURT consists of only the most valued members of troll society. Each individual belonging to The Empire directly. This guild belongs to Vinzen.

Guardians:

This guild belongs to Astral. This court takes up guardian roles as well as death adjacent positions.

Diplomats:

This court belongs to Valhin! This guild is comprised of high class trolls which aid in foreign affairs and connecting the empire.

Academics:

This guild belongs to Yulula, it consists of trolls which strive for knowledge, like teachers and scholars.

Military:

This guild belongs to Bikram, its rather self explanatory. Simply the army.

Industrialists:

This guild belongs to Agaldr, describing business owners and entrepreneurs!

Subjugglator/Inforcer:

This guild belongs to Khinjh, and describes trolls which take on the role of police of executioners, as well as the ‘clown’ aesthetic.

Historians:

This guild belongs to Noireh, and describes those who keep track of historical events and documents. As well as keeping track of general paperwork.

Trollitarian:

This guild belongs to Ollusi and describes troll humanitarians. People who work for the good of others.

Influencers:

This guild belongs to Dollox, a guild which is to influence what is seen on social media and strike fear into any rebel group.

Creatives:

This guild belongs to Meeney, and describes those of the arts, such are painting, dance, and more.

Genuine question, why the expanded hemospectrum? A lot of AUs do this and I don't really get why.

I personally enjoy working with a wider array of blood colors. They can say a lot about a character’s personality via the colors they use. Like a evil, sinister, or more depressed character having a visual cue by having dark blood. Its also just fun to expand upon canon, though not everyone feels that way ofc. I just enjoy playing around with the worlds and the extended hemo spectrum is one of those things i wanna play around with!

As a bronze blood lover, I wanna ask anything interesting about that particular caste?

You are now talking about two castes! Bronze Bloods, as you know them, and Coppers!

Copper: Closer to rusts, work in urban areas, and have a wider range of abilities.

Bronze: Closer to honey bloods, work in rural areas, and primarily have lusus based abilities.

Bronze bloods are usually farmers or work in agriculture. They primarily enjoy handling lusii due to their ability to commune with animals. While not as common, bronze bloods can work in more urban areas, particularly working as veterinarian. They are the beast keepers of the empire.

Copper bloods are more urban focused, working in a wide array of jobs from factories, mechanics, to servers. They can also work as butlers/maids, along with rusts. They share a great number of similarities with rust bloods, even sharing some psionic abilities, though, of course, the difference being their hues. Additionally, rusts tend to have a wider amount of psionic abilities while coppers tend to get the short end of the stick.

Bronze powers are strictly lusus based, Copper powers can range from mind reading, traditional psionics, or even mind control, though the latter is very very rare. As a result, there are fewer Coppers than Bronze bloods. Those with mind controlling abilities are often culled due to their threatening nature to highbloods. Trolls without psionic abilities are more likely to fall into the Bronze caste. Around 55% of the Bronze caste are without abilities, compared to 38% without abilities for rusts.

Rust: Typical Rusts! Can have psionics made up of a few levels! From darkest to lightest without going mutant: Mahogany, Wine, Maroon, Burgundy, Ruby, Scarlet, Cherry

Copper: typically have psionics or powers aside from animal communication! From darkest to lightest: Amber, Monarch, Topaz, Papaya, Tiger, Pumpkin

Bronze: typical bronze bloods! From darkest to lightest: Spice, Gourd, Orange, Carrot, Blaze

Honey: gold bloods without psionics! From darkest to light: Ginger, Wheat, Butterscotch, Sun, Daffodil

Gold: typical gold bloods with psionics! Darkest to lightest: Soot, Sunflower, Dijon, Mustard, Dandelion, Star

Lime: lime bloods! Have the ability to persuade, and calm the upper crusts. Additionally, blood is used in medicine. Darkest to lightest: Pickle, Pear, Sage, Chartreuse, Herb

Olive: typical olive bloods. Typically more beefy than normal mid to low bloods. Darkest to lightest: Fern, Seaweed, Moss, Basil, Artichoke

Jade: Only caste able to become a rainbow drinker and not be considered mutant. dark to light: Sacramento, Jungle, Sea, Emerald, Seafoam, Mint

Teal: have a greater tendency to have vision issues due to their relation to ceruleans genetically. dark to light: Reef, Succulent, Cyan, Turquoise, Robin Egg, Aqua, Aquamarine, Glass

Cerulean: often have eye mutations, as well as vision issues. dark to light: Midnight, Royal, Cobalt, Sapphire, Azure, Bluebell, Cornflower

Indigo: strongest of the mid bloods, tend to be bulkier than most. dark to light: Twilight, Berry, Denim, Lapis, Orchid, Lotus, Periwinkle

Purple: have chucklevoodoo abilities, works hand in hand with occupation. dark to light: Lilith, Eggplant, Urchin, Cabbage, Amethyst, Grape, Lilac

Violet: start of the seadwellers. dark to light: Rasin, Plum, Haze, Radish, Cobweb, Magenta, Abalone

Basic Hemospectrum Roles!

Rusts: backbone of the empire. Often do works of labor or community. (Ie farmer, factory worker, cashier.)

Copper: similar to Rusts. Make up the working class.

Bronze: Often work in fields that concern animal healthcare, taming, and such. Primarily work as explorers of newly conquered land.

Honey: similar to bronze just without any animal or psionic abilities. Work in medial labor, explorations, or domestic environments.

Gold: solely used as power sources or electricians. Teenage years encompass community work or odd jobs.

Lime: work all sectors in their own planets. Jobs vary heavily as its basically an all lime society.

Olive: usually work in food or military! Tend to be withdrawn from society.

Jade: solely work with children and child care. Often assisted by nanny drones in child sectors.

Teal: law and judicial work, often works with the government in some manner.

Cerulean: Also works with the government, primarily military. Also can go into business.

Indigo: most often business owners or entrepreneurs

Purple: entertainers or enforcers, no in between

Violet: usually government but can do whatever they want really as long as it doesn’t conflict with societies rules

Fuchsia: must be a minor emperor/empress. No other options

Jade Hive

Example of a jade blood’s hive!

Many jade bloods live underground, within the brooding caverns. Those who do not reside within the caverns live above ground on kid planets. It is very rare and even looked down upon for jade bloods to be on adult planets. Their purpose is to raise and cultivate the next generation of trolls, and so jades outside that given area are seen as not contributing to the prosperity of the empire.

|Environment / Landscape|

Amphitrite’s landscape is around 78% water in relation to total land. Actual ground portions of Amphitrite are expanded upon via high tech structures which take up small surface areas. Therefore, the tight knit cities within Amphitrite’s surface are able to have spacious areas within the concentrated slurry.

Both day and night on Amphitrite is rather dim, making the planet colder than earth. Land dwelling locations often are heated with various contraptions, allowing for land dwellers to keep their higher body temperatures stable.

Burgundy through gold typically live within the city / suburban areas. Olive bloods vary, typically residing within low-mid blood cities or within more rural areas. Jade bloods reside in the underground brooding caverns, though the few who leave often reside in mid blood cities or neighborhoods. Teal bloods are almost always guaranteed to live within a city dwelling due to their affiliation with the law. Cerulean bloods live within mid-high blood neighborhoods and cities and, like teal bloods, usually do not reside within rural areas. Indigo bloods almost exclusively live within imperial or upper crust settings, as most indigos as expected to work for the empire upon reaching adulthood. Purples live within similar locales to indigos, though purple bloods are also partial to beach fronts and other bodies of water. Violet bloods live within the ocean of course, typically inhabiting reef like cities that are all Violet. Royal Violets (the aforementioned lesser rulers) reside on their own planets. Typically there is only one R. Violet per planetary body. Fuchsias are generally unknown as they are incredibly rare, though they’d likely be within a similar position as violets. Lime bloods are taken off planet once hatched and isolated away from the rest of troll society. They live typical lives until they reach adulthood, which then they are culled. Mutants are incredibly rare but would likely live within rural areas or low blood environments.

Amphitrite has rather massive oceans, all filled with marine life. Within the largest ocean resides the imperial hive. Most land dwellers have never seen this hive, the ones who have often not exiting alive. The palace / temple like structure spans the size of countries, possibly housing something ginormous. It’s such a well know danger zone that even lusii avoid the area, making the only form of life within it’s halls neatly pruned foliage.

The planetary color scheme is cool, made up by blues, purples, and fuchsia. Black & gold are also present within the planet’s palette.

|Relation to Empire|

Amphitrite is the capital planet of the Amphitian / Xhoulh Empire. This planet is marked as the ‘home world’ of the empire and is under the complete rule of Th€ €mp€ror. Trolls hatched on this planet are often privileged to certain imperial positions and roles, no matter what caste they are.

|Name Meaning|

Amphitrite comes from the name of a lesser character within Vincent’s (Vinzen’s) original story. Amphitrite makes an impact on the emperor and, in honor of her life, names the capital planet after her. Similarly, this AU features the capital planet being named ‘Amphitrite’. Additionally, Amphitrite was the name of the goddess who married Poseidon in Greek mythos. She was named as queen of the sea which works well for an empire ruled by sea dwellers.

|Occurrences / Culture|

Amphitrite is known for it’s weekly collections. Every week or so lusii and trolls alike are taken by imperial drones. These drones do not discriminate, taking low and high bloods within their grasps. No one is certain what happens to these lusii / trolls, though most can correctly assume they are culled for one reason or another. The drones do seem to have morals though, only targeting individuals who are either adults or troll-less lusii. Additionally, sea dwellers seem to be among the least affected group, though not due to their high status. Rather sea dwellers are often left out of the cull due to both rarely traveling on land and their smaller population size. Subsequently, the lowest and most populous casts are the most common victims of the cull.

The Amphitian empire is unique on its stance when it comes to the lives of children under the empire. The prosperity and safety of the youth rings as so imperative to the empire that there’s a government mandated program to house trolls. This program maintains a relatively safe and sturdy environment for children until they come of age. Of course, the empire is not without its fear mongering, and many trolls, even children, know to not take advantage of the gift given to them. The program is not necessarily hands on though, as government officials only send care packages of sorts to the children inhabitants of the empire. They are provided the means to health for both themselves and their lusii, though they must seek such aid out as there are far too many trolls to actively look out for. At the very least, young trolls are given a means to support themselves as they interact with one another.

When a troll teaches adulthood they must choose a ruler to serve. All lesser rulers belong to the empire, though each one governs over a specific set of responsibilities. A troll wishing to be a soldier would likely pledge their allegiance to Bikram, while those who wish to be a social diplomat would pledge to Vahlin. Trolls are also able to pledge directly to the empire, often becoming guards or close political officials. A troll’s allegiance is shown by the sign they wear with their own. A troll will wear the sign of the ruler they follow, those affiliated with the empire directly would be given the emperor’s crest. It is incredibly difficult to pledge your allegiance to the empire directly, as not everyone is given access.

Are there any underwater cities that are strictly filled with Seadwellers?

Yes, Amphitrite is 78% water, so most cities are under the sea. Amphitrite itself is the capital planet of the empire, and, as a result, has a greater number of sea dwellers in comparison to other planets. While Amphitrite holds all castes, highbloods are in a greater abundance due to the political importance of the planet.

These two gals <3! Some concepts for what they’d look like in the au! Will likely remake that sprite because god damn, it could use some work! Unlike homestuck, fuchsias have different horns than one another so i’ll likely be twitching up Trizza’s horns to be something more to her. Perhaps they’ll be sharper!
