Trends in Dental Hygiene
I had a friendly chat with one of my classmates about teaching and adult education trends. She works in the dental hygiene field. Prior to speaking with her, I, like the majority of people, assumed that dentistry was the only prominent career in the industry. However, I discovered that there are other employment opportunities in the same industry. She focuses in Dental Hygiene, which is mostly concerned with oral health. Also, as a result of the pandemic, many innovations have occurred in the industry, such as the availability of online consultations for individuals and the development of a number of apps to help people maintain their dental health, which might be linked to their electric toothbrush.
The most fascinating thing I discovered was that there is a ‘365 rule,' which specifies that if a person has not seen their dentist for 365 days or more, they cannot consult with a dental hygienist. That implies they must first connect with and meet their dentist before meeting with the dental hygienist. The rule is currently being revised due to the pandemic and people's inability to visit their dentists. She also mentioned that schools include early childhood programs where children can learn and establish good dental hygiene at a young age. Furthermore, the trend in dental hygiene and science is similar in terms of technology-based resources.

Literacy in the Visual Arts
The quest for visual literacy in scientific education is the first major topic discussed at CAST today. Students are increasingly being expected to interpret scientific data in the form of pictures, tables, and graphs.
Thus, it is necessary to teach students how to examine images. This is especially essential in light of the growing amount of visuals (pictures, models, graphs, and data tables) on state science examinations. Asking students to access their existing knowledge about the information in the picture, label their observations, and then express their conclusions about the scientific ideas based on their investigation might help them improve their visual literacy.
