From Vulture’s Oral History of Lilo and Stitch, here’s stories of what Michael Eisner was like in sweatbox screenings of 90s DIsney classics.
Completely fucking clueless. The incarnation of Defunctland’s jokes about him. Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois just hid Lilo and Stitch from him until it was done, absolute legends.

in Disco Elysium I was expecting there to be some kind of “addiction mechanic” that would add a long-term downside to taking drugs, and was surprised not only by the absence of any such mechanic but also that the benefits of drugs greatly outweighed the cost. anyways fast forward to the late game and I was downing three bottles of pyrholidon and smoking an entire pack of cigarettes before attempting any check, and it was only then I realized there was in fact an addiction mechanic

There are good reasons even most OSR games don't use old-school "declare actions at start of round, then roll initiative with modifiers per action type" rules, but there's a certain je ne sais quoi that's only achieved when you don't know what order your actions are going to go off in until after the wizard says "I cast fireball".
#i loved how the unofficial pokemon tabletop united did this#you roll initiative#then you declare your attacks and actions#... in REVERSE initiative order#then resolve in initiative order#to represent those with higher initiative being able to read opponents and tailor their actions accordingly

Not pertinent to anything in particular but I do think it's kinda weird that we keep depicting cavemen in media crawling around on all fours covered in dirt with tangled, matted hair, speaking in broken, cobbled-together toddler language when like.
They were us.
Like literally genetically they were US, just like. A while ago.
Like
Would you trust a TV caveman with a baby? Probably not
A real life caveman though??? I think they'd be at least okay at it

Teenagers are treated like children and expected to act like adults.
Teenagers are expected to stand tall and take responsibility for themselves but are treated with a baseline level of respect normally reserved for unruly dogs if they show even a hint of establishing their own boundaries
Teenagers are too old, too dangerous, too suspicious to be seen around children but too immature, too wilful, too morally weak to be allowed into the fold of adults
it's crazy to me that teenagerhood is literally the time I your life where your body usually at its most socially curious and also generally curious, it is literally the stage of life where your entire job as a social animal is to go out and do something dangerous and stupid and meet new people and form social connections and learn more about what life is like. and be horny about it also (if applicable). and also literally every single adult in the world was once a teenager. yet it is also widely believed that it is absolutely vital that we exert as much control over teenagers as humanely possible despite the fact that a teenager is a creature made for fucking around in the woods and messy social drama and writing really weird porn.

As an autistic person, you can literally tell someone "I mean this genuinely and literally and this is all genuinely good faith. I mean this all completely neutrally, I'm not implying anything else and this is all extremely literal and good faith" and someone will still misconstrue you in ways you never thought was possible.

I know we are all used to hear bad news from the USA or UK when it comes to trans rights but this time Germany wants to play in the same league.
Our idiots at home ministry came up with the fucking idea to start a register for all transgender and nonbinary people which would mean every person working at some public position could always at any given time see your assigned gender at birth, your deadname, your address and who knows what else.
We had been there in the past. Hitler Germany called it the "Travestite Law" back then. Our politicians didn't learn.
We all know this is unacceptable.
Please, if you are German, sign it. If you are not, spread it wide and far.
This had been stopped once a few years ago. It needs to be stopped again.
