I'm finding certain genres of metal I'm really into that I didn't expect to end up enjoying as much as I do; it's essentially right up my alley. And y'know I'd been told such before but it's a lot easier to enjoy music when you find it naturally instead of when you feel pressured to get into stuff.

Bit of task demand avoidance when stuff gets recommended to me sometimes especially if the person I'm talking to makes it feel like listening to metal is a damn competition. Not constantly feeling forced to listen to the heaviest shit possible.

I've ended up getting into doom, stoner and sludge metal that way. As well as some older metal bands like Pantera and Black Label Society, which I didn't expect to be into at all but it's grown on me. But fuuuuck man this shit is such a vibe I love it
