Those who protest against Israel's genocide are punished for antisemitism.

But for some strange reason, authorities have never cracked down on antisemitism any other time. Any other time, antisemitism is considered free speech.

It's almost as if they know damn well that protesting against Israel is not antisemitism.

i've never understood what people mean by rehabilitating pedophiles - do you mean to say rehabilitating sex offenders? because not all child molesters are pedophiles and not all pedophiles become sex offenders. if you mean "make a pedophile no longer a pedophile", that's straight up impossible.

now personally as the unfortunate child of a sex pervert (criminal version) - I don't automatically associate any sexual urge with abuse, but rather voluntary actions of the person (the choice to abuse), which is one influenced by more than sexuality. for example, abusers targeting children in a vulnerable position in the nuclear family.

when I was 16 I planned to kill my dad for the first time, genuinely. now at age 25, safe and far away from him, I find myself thinking, "if he dies, there is still an endless amount of people out there exactly like him, and no fantasy in which they all disappear can be reality".

the fact? we currently have no concrete understanding of the 'nature' side of child abuse. the side your local restore-law-and-order politician loves to bring up. Born Evil. but when I look at a picture of my dad as a child, and when I look in the mirror and see a person now devoid of humanity, I have to wonder, when? because I know it wasn't always.

you can misread this post any way you want,i've been through and seen enough shit to be numb inside, so maybe I come across as a complete sicko here, who knows! but I truly believe the only "cure" to abuse is a society in which no one is left vulnerable to be victimized, and autonomy is respected...and maybe one where we can have these conversations without people living in a fantasy land where you can somehow remove paraphilic disorders or whatever you want to call it

The various pieces of “hardware” we associate with it—big, imposing neoclassical buildings fronted by Greco-Roman columns quite often come to mind, along with military bases, roads, and monuments—are merely material containers and symbols of the immaterial reality. An operating system is soft ware, a collection of embedded commands that direct a machine called a computer. The State, too, is “software”: a collection of ideas, doctrines, commands, and processes that direct the deployment of human beings and their deployment of physical resources. The State is at once a political, social-cultural, and economic entity. Like an operating system, it networks together institutions, organizations, and less formal groups including government but also many others: corporations, banks, other financial institutions (state-chartered, as it happens), and other underpinnings of capitalism; eleemosynary (nonprofit and charitable) institutions; so-called civil society groups and political parties (especially “established” parties like the Democrats and Republicans in the United States, which have evolved into quasi-state institutions); and even basic units like families and households. Hundreds of Jewish anti-war demonstrators have been arrested during a Passover seder that doubled as a protest in New York, as they shut down a major thoroughfare to pray for a ceasefire and urge the Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, to end US military aid to Israel.

The 300 or so arrests took place on Tuesday night at Grand Army Plaza, on the doorstep of Schumer’s Brooklyn residence, where thousands of mostly Jewish New Yorkers gathered for the seder, a ritual that marked the second night of the holiday celebrated as a festival of freedom by Jews worldwide.
