“ so i was thinking of buying a new car. italian, of course, ” anastasia pointed out the obvious, tugging a strand of hair behind her ear, then raising her gaze to look at giovanni. “ wouldn’t you happen to know any nice deals i can get my hands on? ” ( @giorxcci​ )

lara  often  finds  herself  outside  her  living  quarters  at  the  resort,  usually  wandering  around.  she  wasn’t  particularly  FOND  of  being  away  from  home  and  being  confined  within  her  rooms  was  only  a  reminder  of  it  all.  on  the  particular  day  at  hand  she  could  be  found  near  the  bar,  sipping  on  a  cocktail.  she  wasn’t  usually  one  to  drink  without  cause  or  alone  but  the  tiring  day  she  had  called  for  nothing  less.  lips  placed  around  a  straw,  lara  glances  around  her  surroundings,  her  eyes  narrowing  at  a  familiar  figure  who  she  hasn’t  seen  in  a  while. it  can’t  be  .  .  .   can  it?  “anastasia?”  she  questions,  her  voice  loud  enough  to  grab  the  other  girls  attention. 

out of all the places they could be sent to, thailand was one of the best choices. the weather was lovely, they were close to the beach and there were little to none strangers around them. anastasia left the comfort of her own home to enjoy a drink by the beach. as she approached the bar, she heard somebody calling her name, so she turned around and lowered her glasses. her eyes met with the girl’s and even though it’s been years since the last time they saw each other, anastasia was quick to recognize her. “ hi, lara. ”

“ you’d be obligated to rub post-sun gel on my back if it happened. ” she wouldn’t but he certainly wouldn’t be the one to do it because getting the back is a job for a second party and he’d be in too much pain to even attempt such a stunt. “ i’m not a whiner, i’m a good loser. so we race. you ready ? ”

“ lucky me. don’t worry, i got you. i’ll make sure nothing will happen to your sensitive skin. ”  as if she’d let him get burned. anastasia was many things, but she was not a bad friend. besides, nobody deserved sun burns. “ we’ll see about that. i’m obviously ready, let’s do it. ”

“ in case he ever finds out you cheated, deny it. denial is the way to go always. and this works for both your nutritional guy and any relationship you might get in. ” some might say that was the worst advice silje could ever give someone, she on the other hand believed it to be the smartest thing she ever told someone. “ but there’s no way he could ever find out, we’re the only ones here and i don’t go anywhere near healthy people. that shit’s contagious, one convo with them and, before you realize, you’re posting pictures of your everyday bland and tasteless salads on your instagram stories. ”

anastasia narrowed her eyes for a short moment, then she nodded her head. “ deny what? ” she bit her lower lip to to prevent herself from chuckling, then motioned for the waitress to approach her and ordered some fries and another milkshake. “ ew. the only salad i ever accept is a fruit salad, at least they’re sweet. anyway, what’s up with you? you seem a little annoyed with something. ”

“I have long passed the point of letting anything you say get to me.” There was a time when she would have been affected but after witnessing the harm the other princess caused her friend, she decided Anastasia was not worth it. “You need to take a humanity check.”

“ oh, really? i don’t know, it doesn’t look like it. you might have to work on it a little more. ” she actually started to enjoy pushing arabella to the edge, she was now curious to see how much was she willing to take. “ and who’s gonna give it to me, you? yeah, thank you but i’ll pass. try me again tomorrow, i might change my mind. ”

“ burn. literally. ” a skin as pale as his and sun just didn’t go together, it had been proven many summers prior to that. so now that life felt like an endless summer he was prepared. “ my place is nearby. oh, yes ! i don’t think i remember the last time i went jet-skiing, i’m excited now. ”

“ yeah, we wouldn’t want that to happen. i’m never going to hear the end of this if your skin starts to sting tomorrow, so i’ll make sure you’re drowning in sunscreen. ” there were very few things that could be considered worse than sunburns. feeling like your body is on fire and aching at the slightest movement? a nightmare. “ then it’s settled. i’d say we race, but i don’t want you to whine all day after you lose. ”

“ your greatest mistake. and you have to dip it too, trust me. ” she remembers giovanni once telling her how horrible her eating habits were and she didn’t disagree: there was nothing tastier than junk food. “ your nutrition coach doesn’t have to know. cheat days do still exist, don’t they ? ”

“ alright, i’ll take your word for this and try it. ” if there was anyone she could count on to recommend the best junk food, it was surely silje. not that she minded, eating fancy-named food all the time could get boring after a while. “ i feel like i’m about to break a promise here but it’s not like he is allowed to hold it against me anyway. teach me, i’m ready. ”

“ i don’t know when it became socially acceptable to drink in the middle of the day, but it’s not like i’m going to complain about it. ” anastasia lightly pushed her drink in front of irena. “ here, try this. it’s called negroni. ”

Miray didn’t have a lot of bad relationships with people - not only for her general positive outlook on life and others but also because in general she didn’t have a lot of close relationships that could turn sour. This had made her current anger towards Aslan extremely hard to handle and, combined with Ramadan, filled with guilt. As if to test her some more she had to run into Anastasia. Once a friend and now just a wall of confusion and hurt. “Oh.. hey.” she said immediately forgetting what she was supposed to be doing “Oh Sorry- I-” she said moving out of the others way “How have you been?”

anastasia didn’t have anything against the turkish princess. if one of them was to be bothered by each other’s presence, miray was actually the one who should be upset with her. “ hello, ” anastasia greeted her. it was quite clear that she wasn’t having the best day, she probably didn’t her to make it worse. “ eh, i’ve been working a lot. phone calls, meetings, things like that. the usual, you know ? ” she waved a dismissive hand, as if it hadn’t been anything important. “ how about you? all good? ”

“ okay, let’s see.. ” she muttered to herself and checked the list on her phone. “ our next appointment is in ten minutes and it’s a herbal body scrub and after that we’ll be getting our manicure and pedicure done together. ” anastasia locked her phone and put it away, then let out a relaxed sigh. “ isn’t it just great to treat yourself every now and then? oh, should i order some more champagne? ” ( @sylvivs​ )

“ i’m disappointed we didn’t get to do this in dubai too, but there’s no way i’m missing out another opportunity to come here. ” slowly reaching her hand forward, anastasia petted a cat that was approaching her. “ thank you for reminding me how much i love cat cafes. ice coffee and cats? sounds almost too good to be true. ” ( @vstridb​ )

“I know you well enough to not expect you to feel anything other than anger.” Arabella could not stop herself from rolling her eyes. “The size of your ego clearly has not changed.”

“ don’t let it get to your head, i’m not angry at all. if anything, i’m amused. ” she found immaturity funny. phuket was large enough, arabella could avoid her if she really wanted to. “ it’s not going to change as long as people like you keep feeding it. ”

“ lifesaver. ” he praised once she got out the sunscreen bottle. being as pale as ilija made sunbathing a risky choice and he wasn’t ever prepared for it. he went to change and did it as quickly as he could before meeting stas again. “ am ready. now to the beach ? ”

“ what would you do without me and my many obsessions, including skin care? ” she didn’t tell him that she had even more products for sunbathing in her bag, that was going to be a surprise. “ that was quicker than i thought. yes, to the beach! ” anastasia exclaimed and wrapped her hand around his arm. “ oh, we can even go jet-skiing later. ”

“ i’ll tell you this: french fries and milkshake are the best fucking combo when you’re high. ” normally she just wouldn’t go around telling people she was high but at that exact moment there was a single bit of care on silje’s body. if there had been, she smoked it too. “ the milkshake serves as the best fry dip. ”

“ can you believe i never tried them together? the french fries and the milkshake, i mean, ” anastasia confessed with a low chuckle. she hasn’t smoked in a while either, not since she was told she needed to become more responsible. “ my nutrition coach would be proud. ”

“ was that supposed to make me feel bad? ” anastasia rose an eyebrow and scoffed. “ if anything, it’s flattering. to know you’re avoiding me, i mean. ”

“ i’ve been a bit lost in time so it could be between a month or three years and i really wouldn’t be able to tell. ” he was in desperate need of a routine, something to keep him grounded. “ like heaven. but we need to include sunscreen, it could get ugly — to me at least — if we don’t. ”

“ it’s been way too long, so we’re going to change that. ” she nodded once, then took out a sunscreen from her purse. “ i’m always wearing sunscreen, it does wonders to my skin. you can go change, but don’t make me wait too long, and then we can enjoy the sun together. ”
