Sometimes I wonder if I’m overanalysing bare but then I listen to Epiphany and start thinking about the foreshadowing and then I think I’m not overanalysing this show enough

I mean, I don’t agree with you op. But had to reblog because I agree with Michael Arden.

To pitch in on the "Jason/Peter is a bad boyfriend debate"... neither is, but
What they both are is suicidal teenagers, who need things so opposed to each other they can't help the other because it would simply be deciding they're going to be the one who dies. And they don't know the other is also suicidal, so all they see is themselves reaching for a way to keep going and the other stopping them from getting there

You slew all my giants, ignoring your own. And now that they haunt you, I'm left with my courage alone.

sometimes i’ll be chilling and then boom i remember “father, we were so in love/and that’s what I find so odd/our love was pure/and nothing else brought me closer to God” and just need to go sit down for a minute

The way Jason auditions with the monologue that says "I have night's cloak to hide me from their eyes/ and but thou love me, let them find me here/ my life were better ended by their hate"
Still not over Bare after 5 fucking years apparently

thinking about how every character in bare has their own motif except for matt. thinking about how he almost got a motif during auditions and then jason sang it instead. thinking about how he brings the auditions motif back during promise as he thinks he’s finally taking control. thinking about how he slowly realizes what he’s done and the auditions motif never appears again.
thinking about how the only true solo motif matt has is jason’s eulogy.

it’s been years since i’ve even thought about bare: a pop opera but i relistened to the soundtrack recently and genuinely all of us that could relate to Role of a Lifetime and See Me deserve financial compensation

Me: Bare is a masterclass on skillful lyric crafting. Every lyric is made with clear intent and forwards the plot in some way while also relating back to the themes of the show
Bare: rhymes alone with alone. Three times. In a row.
