He knew part of this could be attributed to the simple fact that before you became Belle, it had only ever been the two of you. Caught in your own little corner of Rhodolite. There, he stood, in a maze of books, the only prince charming and you his one and only love.

Of course men had tried to make a move on you, but they had never been serious rivals. Mere strangers you'd meet at the bookstore or in the streets. Men who knew close to nothing about you yet willed themselves to profess their undying love for you. One had even gone out of his way to ask you for marriage.

Rio could not blame them though. After all, who wouldn't fall head over heels with you?

With sunshine features and a bright mind to match, with a tender heart and fierce ambitions, you outshone the prettiest of blooms. Anyone crossing your path would be tempted to let their heart bleed at your feet for a mere smile from you.

He was no exception.

But none of these men had ever spent enough time with you for you to actively consider them anything other than mere strangers or clients at the bookstore. None of them knew you as well as he did. None of them loved you, adored you nearly as much.

However when you became Belle, things had changed. Caught in a whirlwind of responsibilities and golden opportunities, all eyes had turned to you.

And Rio's tongue had soured. His heart squeezing in his chest every time he found you growing closer and closer to the princes. Caught between the desire to support you in your new position as Belle and the inner desire to keep you to himself.

So when you had returned his tender feelings openly? Relief had washed over him in great waves of sighs and emotional tears. Temporarily clearing his mind of the crippling dark clouds of insecurity.

However, as much as he tried to remain optimistic for your sake, to remain joyful and like the good puppy Rio you knew him as, even he had his limits.

Limits that had been pushed too far this afternoon when he had caught you merrily chatting with prince Jin in the gardens. Your smile as pure and cheerful as the sun was ripe, blissfully unaware of the prince's lingering eyes.

And although Rio knew your heart to be his, the unease in his nerves would not be soothed by any other means but your warmth.

"Rio-" You choke out between heated breaths, palms spread wide against one of the palace's many ornate walls in a poor attempt at remaining steadfast.

"I am sick of this." Your lover answers, words punctuated by a brutal snap of his hips against yours, pushing you flush against the wall. "I am sick of watching them flirt with you right before my eyes."

He pushes a quiet moan past your lips. Still the sound resonates all too loud for your liking in the deserted halls of the Castle.

Deserted it is for now. And deserted you pray it'll remain.

"What-What if someone comes?" You manage to say, swallowing back sinful moans of his name.

But you know reasoning with him to be futile. Rio's gentle hands possessing none of their familiar tenderness as they hold onto your hips with the same desperation laced around his heart, fingers digging in the soft skin and leaving crescent moons in their wake.

"I do not care. They can come for all I care." He says, the hint of a pout in his voice, "This way they will see that only I get to pleasure you."
