One of the most important aspects to enjoying a film or a television show is the suspension of belief, and editing mistakes, when noticed, often ruin the experience for the audience. This is why the post-production wherein editing comes to place, is still one of the most crucial parts of the process. Take this one example from the first movie of the Harry Potter series, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” (2001) dir. Chris Columbus. After the Sorting Hat places Harry in Gryffindor, we see that he goes to the table and sits next to Ron. Immediately in the next shot, he is sitting next to Hermione.

Discussion Board 1.2

There is a saying that “history repeats itself,” except this isn’t true; history will only repeat itself if we let it. The Filipino narrative is vibrant and wealthy and speaks to us as our history, and it is filled with stories of our ancestors, legends, and myths, as well as how we came to be the nation we are today. In recalling the past, we may find that there are parts that we must cherish and pass on, and some details where we must learn from and improve on that it may never happen again in the future. As Conrado de Quiros writes in an obituary dedicated to Renato Constantino, our country has an almost desperate need to forget, and it is one that “lives almost exclusively in the present.” We must prevent ourselves from forgetting; the Filipino narrative is here for a reason, and that reason is to leave a mark to make sure that we and generations to come will remember and never forget.
