the modern villainisation of demeter will never cease to enrage me bc it wasn’t ENOUGH to just take a story of a girl being torn from her home from everyone who loved her and dragged away to be forced into marriage and twist and corrupt it until it was a romance story about female empowerment that wasn’t ENOUGH they HAD to take the original hero of the story the mother who went to every length to find her daughter again to bring her home and demonise her character until she was this horrific overbearing unloving mother. overprotective controlling without love. they turn the story of her grief at her YOUNG daughter being torn from her without her knowledge into the story of a misunderstood bad boy and a horrible cruel mother who won’t give him a chance and i really find it sickening. it’s ironic, that the ever misogynist age of hellenistic greece, has a better grasp of how disgusting and horrifying this situation was that a modern, self proclaimed ‘feminist’ era.

Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Dead Boy Detectives (TV) Rating: Explicit Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Edwin Paine | Edwin Payne/Charles Rowland, Edwin Paine | Edwin Payne & Crystal Palace & Charles Rowland Characters: Charles Rowland, Edwin Paine | Edwin Payne, Crystal Palace (DCU), Niko Sasaki, The Cat King | Thomas, Kingham and Litty | The Dandelion Sprites, Jenny Green (Dead Boy Detectives) Additional Tags: Episode: s01e08 The Case of the Hungry Snake (Dead Boy Detectives), Post-Canon, Slow Burn Summary:
Charles told Edwin that nothing had changed between them, but that was a lie. An unintentional lie, but a lie all the same.
Change was unusual for ghosts. Time changed, but ghosts did not. Ghosts did not age, they did not breathe, they did not die.
Charles, however, had been reborn. He had walked directly into Hell, and back out again, for Edwin.
And that had changed him.

when anne carson said “what are we made of but hunger and rage?” and when anne carson said “i do not want to be a person. i want to be unbearable.” and when anne carson said “i am talking about evil. it blooms. it eats. it grins.” and when anne carson said “revenge is a form of desire.” and when anne carson said “to feel anything deranges you.” and when anne carson said “why does tragedy exist? because you are full of rage. why are you full of rage? because you are full of grief.” and when anne carson said

When you get this, respond with five things that make you happy. Then send to the last ten people in your notifications anonymously. :)
Aaah, alright let's do this. I feel like I've done one of these in past, and my answers were probably rather bitter and sarcastic. Let's try to be a little more heartfelt now lmfao. 1. I'm getting married soon! That's some big excitement. 2. I've always wanted to travel, and now I've lived on three different continents. 3. I've finished a book, which was a lifelong goal of mine. 4. No matter what I still find joy in my old fandoms. I love you Obi-Wan Kenobi, I love you Andrew Minyard, I love you Bella Swan. 5. Graduating from university was not the terrifying experience I believed it would be.
