Love The Sport
Andrew Raynor Dover For more on our community and coaching, please visit C26Triathlon.com Many of us get into triathlon to figure out who we really are and that process is more effective and enjoyable if we love the sport. And loving the sport is a process. Today, we reflect on Kobe Bryant’s life and his passion for, not only the game, but everything he did, and tie it into our daily...

Andrew Raynor Dover For more information on our community and coaching, please visit www.c26triathlon.com In Crushing Iron podcast #340, titled Race Weight, we tackle some of the issues triathletes deal with regarding weight loss and diet. What’s an Off-season?
Andrew Raynor Dover The off-season can mean different things for different athletes. It can be used as a complete mental and physical break for those athletes recovering after a long season. It can also be an opportunity to hone in and improve a single discipline, or the chance to build on fitness for the next year. Coaches need to recognise how best to plan the off-season for their athletes on an...

The ITU debacle
Andrew Raynor Dover While most sit there and accept the heavily corporatised product served up to us by the other custodian of the sport, the Olympic ringed ITU have the gaul to say that ‘Sutto keeps harping on about how the sport gets worse as the business grows’ – I’m told to leave it alone!  However I went to the WTS Hamburg race last weekend, and I was 20 metres...

My 12 Things Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga: Inside of the Mind of an Aging Man Who Doesn’t Really Like Gadgets
Andrew Raynor Dover By Mike Tarrolly for Crushing Iron I think it’s important for people to write race reports. It helps you remember where you did well and what you need to do better next time. Over the years my recaps have morphed from flowing gibberish about every hotel lobby conversation into something more like “things I learned” with the hope that someone else can pick...

Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga Recap 2019
Andrew Raynor Dover C26 Triathlon hit Chattanooga 70.3 by storm with 44 athletes racing and dozens of friends and family members along for the ride. In all we had 44 athletes start and finish. 19 crossed the line with a 70.3 PR. And 12 were first time finishers. On top of the race we had a blast with around 40 rooms at the Holiday Inn downtown filled with awesome people. We spent a lot of time in...

New C26 T-Shirt
Andrew Raynor Dover The other day on Podcast #266, Coach Robbie went into a rant about how triathletes are the worst when it comes to bike repairs and it created a new t-shirt character. Here’s what he said, regarding how we take our bikes in at the last minute. “Don’t be Last-Minute-Larry like most triathletes and be like Hey I need to tune-up and the whole shebang . . . new...

C26 Triathlon Camp Video May 2019
Andrew Raynor Dover There’s something truly special about having such a great group of people come to town and work on getting better. Not much is more inspiring or magnetic than effort and everyone that came to the C26 May Camp gave it their all. Fall In Love With Your Life – Crushing Iron Podcast #242
Andrew Raynor Dover Life moves fast and it’s good to sit still at times and ask, “Am I in love with the way I’m living?” (This was the topic of a recent Crushing Iron podcast titled Fall In Love With Your Life, which you can listen to here) I think it’s fair to say that when I met Coach Robbie, we were both struggling with the concept of falling in love with our...

Flying to even greater heights
Andrew Raynor Dover I have received many congratulatory notes, and wish to say thank you from Daniela and myself. While people want a race report, I find it difficult to write one, so for now I’d just like to tell the inside story that our athletes at camp see every day. I will let Dave Scott, one of the greatest Ironman athletes of all time, tell you his observations first: Add to this...

Spectating Ironman Louisville? Do this . . .
Andrew Raynor Dover By Mike Tarrolly for Crushing Iron Last year, the day after I raced Ironman Louisville, I limped into a convenience store and the cashier gave me a dirty look before saying, “YOU, you, you!” I said, “What??” “That damn Ironman had me stuck in traffic for over an hour yesterday!” I smiled and said something about “it’s a great way...
