Just a random thought about Fez at the end…

Spoilers.

Fez was shot in the side and the fn cops just hand cuff him, pick him up, then limp his ass outta there like it’s nothing. WTH? 🤨

Is that some common practice I’m unaware of or just some tv show bs? Someone is shot. Regardless if thats the suspect you’re after, aren’t you supposed to seek medical attention for him first? Like get EMT to apply pressure to the wound, and take him out on a gurney? Something? Right?? Even if the wound is not serious, how would they know without further examination? That part always bothered me. 😒

Euphoria Ep 8 SPOILERS!!’

….If anyone is upset over what the cops did to Ashtray, and I mean upset like, “Oh! How could they do this to a child!” *Pearl clutch, then you have not been paying attention…

Cops have killed black children for WAY less. Now, I’m not saying Ash deserved to die like that. Just saying…it’s on brand for the cops. So that part was NOT a shock (IMO). Especially given Ash was balls out guns blazin anyway….smh. Yea, sorry but he was a goner from the jump. RIP Ash and RIP all the children the cops have no fucking business shooting. 💔😡

Euphoria S2, Ep4 Thoughts...

Spoilers....

- This episode and last ep just feel like filler episodes. Obviously setting up for what’s to come, so I know I can’t judge too harshly yet, but MAN, I’m just...I’m just so bored with these characters! WTF?? They pacing is super off.

- The episode was...beautifully shot though. The intro montage was very cool. 

- I’m sorry, but I don’t give a shit about Cal. And he was just a messy bitch this ep. What about your son my dude? What you gonna do about Nate and him lying about getting his ass beat and that tape?? Yes, it was nice seeing him go in on his family, but he was picking on/exposing the wrong ones. And the whole thing kind of went no where. He didn’t address Nate or the tape, so what was the point?? Deal with your little American Psycho ass son, Cal, and why he’s beating up on young girls, blackmailing people, and getting his ass beat up by drug dealers. 

- This Rue, Jules, and Elliot love triangle is ....meh. I guess the biggest thing this ep was Jules finding out (finally) that Rue relapsed, and I’m just like...

....Bitch. Come on now, it was so obvious. So there wasn’t much emotional weight to it at all. No real suspense about what she will do with this info either. But that was pretty much it. One whole hour and nothing new with Rue or the suitcase.

-WTF is happening with Kat?? We are the fourth ep in and they are STILL on her whining about how boring Ethan is...and I’m just like, girl then DO something about it! DO something! ANYTHING! Her character is so stunted so far, which is sad, bc she was one of my favs last season. I know she’s trying to “figure it out”, but give us some kind of progress or anticipation for her character. She’s got no purpose in this season at all. She’s bored, I’m bored, dude.

- Cassie, Nate, and Maddy are just....silly lol. Only thing it’s succeeding at is reminding the audience that despite all of the adult content on this show, these are “teenagers”, and well, yea, they are more likely to cry and get silly over dumb shit. There was just no change for them this episode. Nothing new. Cassie is still fucking Nate on the DL, being pathetic, and crying her eyes out about it every 5 secs. Maddy, is still clueless and steady playing mind games with Nate and calling it “love”. Nate is a POS who is playing and gaslighting both of em. IDK, nothing about them is interesting, they are just exhausting to watch. 

- Fezco + Lexi. No Fexi/Lexco this episode =(, which was a huge bummer because they are the only highlight, the ONLY good thing about this season so far. Lexi was just...there this ep, so nothing to report on her other than she’s still working on her “play”. Fezco finds out that Mouse’s baby mama is “asking questions” (ruh roh), anddd......that’s it. Oooo the suspense. Oh and for some reason Faye is still living with them?? I know there’s other things to cover, so no need to waste too much time on Faye, but why tf is she still there?? I thought it was temporary. Is the heat still on them about the hotel manager thing?Confused. Also, why tf can’t Custer just take her some where? That’s his girl! I never understood why it had to be Fezco to take her in? Even if they are  “business partners” that’s just messy as shit. Aside from comedic relief, I see no reason plot wise for Faye at all, which sucks, because at times I do like her character, so like Kat, I wish they would give her some purpose.

That’s it. Hoping for better episodes to come. 

Additional Thoughts: 

- I read other comments that mention how the show seems to be valuing style over substance, and that I’m starting to agree with this. Especially after this episode. They seemed more interested in getting these beautiful stylized shots as opposed to actually having them MEAN anything or compliment the plot. Again, time will tell if it does, but I think that’s why I personally am having issues connecting with what’s going on:

I sorry but I feel nothing for Rue and Jules, so this whole Elliot love triangle “foil” falls flat to me. They just have her saying over and over how much she “loves” Jules (yes we know already!), but....emotionally and even chemistry wise, this season they have nothing going for them. It’s all just words, nothing showing their connection. At least not the same way as last season. This is a huge ass problem as these are the stars of the show. Zendaya is the main fucking character! The Emmy winner! Yet her story is one of the weakest right now, imo. Besides the suitcase, there’s nothing emotionally tangible about her. That’s a huge red flag, and has me concerned for the writing for rest of this season.

I feel nothing for Cassie/Nate or Nate/Maddy, so that whole drama means nothing. Like, WHY is Cassie in love with Nate? What about their relationship besides the sex is appealing to Cass? What did she see in that car ride that made her cling to him so desperately? I can see why him and Maddy work because they compliment each other’s toxicity, but Cassie’s out-of-nowhere obsession confuses the shit out of me. Thus makes it hard to have any sympathy for her or empathize with her struggle to figure it out.

Then, there’s Kat/Ethan, who have yet to even have a proper scene together yet. Hell, I don’t even think Ethan has had any lines yet! How are we supposed to feel anything for Kat’s dilemma if we’re not even shown what their relationship is really like? How is it from Ethan’s POV? Is he miserable too? Like give us something, Sam, damn!

- One of the things I really loved about Season 1 was not only how the characters interacted, or how beautifully it was shot, but also about their growth and self discovery. Particularly with Jules and Kat. I loved Jules’s journey to discover her own identity free of the societal norms of what should masculinity and femininity should be. I loved her transformation after meeting Anna and how she was feeling more confident in herself and who she was. Seems like all that character building is just abandoned now, and she’s just a love sick puppy crawling after Rue. Or...I guess now jumping to Elliot simply because he was nice to her. It’s sad to see her reduced to once again seeking validation from others. I guess both her and Rue have relapsed in that sense. So IDK, maybe there’s a method to this madness, we will see. 

- Kat on the other hand, wtf. I’m hearing rumors that she had some beef with Sam Levinson and that’s why her scenes are so scarce this season. That makes no sense to me, as that’s super fucking petty and I can’t imagine he would sabotage his show and one of his best characters over some dispute with the actress. But either way, Kat is non-existent and irrelevant to the plot at this point, and that’s really fucking sad. With the exception of the Ethan killing fantasy, we barely see Kat at all. And when we do, she’s wallowing over Ethan over and over, still on the fence on whether or not she should stay with him. Her self discovery journey last season was about loving herself and being comfortable in her skin despite the world telling her otherwise as an overweight teen. Her story was so powerful, however, none of that is addressed again in this season. She’s just super stale as a character. So IDK what to think about her or the others for that matter. I’m sad to see many of the female characters just reduced to these pathetic, cry baby, one-note souls compared to their bad ass counter parts in Season 1.  I really hope they have better intentions for these characters in the episodes to come.

Watching The Witcher on Netflix (again) and thinking about how cool a Daevabad crossover would be. Especially after reading the Alternate Epilogue. I just want Dara and Geralt to team up and fight monsters/Ifrit together. 

They’re very similar. I feel like they would be best friends brooding, drinking, and fighting together. Only communicating in grunts and subtle nods lol.
