NZ It feels like I have been in New Zealand before. Nature in this country is really familiar to British but it's more exotic. And against California everything is green. We've been there for 4 days already. Everyday is rainy and foggy. Our trip started on North island and we're going down to South island by rental car. Whenever you go there are sheeps, cows and hills. First day from the airport we went to Hobbiton movie set. There you can buy a ticket for a tour around Hobbit's village. Also have a ginger beer in Green Dragon. Movie set was rebuilt for tourism, but the farm where is Hobbiton built is still working. They use vegetable garden from village, full of real food, for their own good. It's not a surprise that it was raining all day. Day 2 I can describe this day using just one word. Adrenaline. First of all we rode a jet boat, which goes 69mil/km, to Huka Falls. Then we jumped from the cliff. Seriously, but on a swing. It's kind of bungee jumping, but you're not going head first. The worst feeling is that you're falling down and you can't do anything to stop it. Then you swing and here comes the best feeling. Swinging above river in the rain of course, but still you're feeling so free. You can just scream, because your words are suddenly gone. At the end of the day we went to Te Pō,one of Māori's villages, where you can see how these first people in New Zealand live. When they came to this new land they brought dogs and rats with them. Their culture is really interesting, full of mystical stories and tattoos on face. from Day 3 to the end We prepared for 8 hours ride. First 2 hours to see Glowing worms in caves, where we took a tour by boat. I've never seen something like that before. It felt like we're floating through whole universe. After this experience we got into a car and drove 6 hours to a farm, where we stayed for few days, maybe four. How can you meet other culture more than by doing what they do everyday? I really enjoyed exploring New Zealand's nature, beautiful sandy beaches, rain forests and more and more. I can tell you that people have made huge businesses because of the movie The lord of the rings and Hobbit trilogy. If something isn't about these movies here something is wrong. In every information place you see brochures with tours where these movies were made. I'm not saying that those places aren't beautiful and you can't see them. No, you definitely should. After this experience on the farm we drove to Pinnacles mountains (The lord of the rings place) on Wednesday and did a hike to the top. The road up there was so muddy, because of the rain. However the view was worth it. We didn't have a chance to see Wellington in light, because we just spent one night there and flew to Queenstown. Queenstown is a city for snowboarders and skiers. In every other store you see equipment for winter activities. Unfortunately we didn't do that. The first day we came was sunny day (yeah we were surprised too) so we bought a tour by helicopter and saw probably the most amazing view in our life. I was fine with this flight, but then bumps came and it got super scary. The helicopter was shaking so bad. Other day we didn't some shopping and today we're in Auckland just for one night. Tomorrow in the evening we'll fly back to California. I can't tell you how much amazing was this trip. I can't describe every single moment when we saw something unbelievable, because every minute there was something like that.
