This movie is the 1999 classic The Thirteenth Year! It's one of Disney's most memorable made-for-TV adventures!

They have it up on Disney+ though it is also available on Youtube!

Also, shameless self promotion, I have a longform ao3 sequel series to it! Essentially taking the premise "what if this movie kicked off a TV series about growing up as a merman?" You can check it out here!

Hey y’all remember that Disney channel original movie with the guy that was a mermaid???? What was it called??? I was like really obsessed with that movie. I even recorded it onto vhs so I could rewatch it as many times as I wanted.

We are almost a month out from the microfandom holiday (May 15, date of the movie's premiere and our favorite merman's birthday!) and this one is going to be a big one, since it's a whole 25 years!!

I have some fun posts planned for it but wanted to share/update everyone, it has been lovely connecting with other fans of this movie and doing a fun yearly thing about it seemed like a good tradition to start!

(If I can plan the series finale for May 15, 2025, I will, but no guarantees, the season 6 outline is Large lol)
