OH that's also completely fair, we just remember in middle school looking through what's actually available to us that someone literally tried to argue with us, once, that Pokemon was not an anime.

(To be fair, they also argued the distinction was useless since it was "only a difference in drawing styles" which, we guess...but I seriously doubt the tropes that appear in something like TenSura, or even the fact isekai is a whole genre in anime, is something that is easily transferable to something like Family Guy...so maybe that person also didn't fucking know what they were talking about. We have not heard anyone argue back about it though, so...we just assumed most people didn't see it as an anime?)

Not everyone necessarily has to identify with all of the components of the multiplurid at once, they just have to feel like all of the components of the multiplurid affect the system's overall or collective identity in some way.
