I just realized I never posted the third version of my Cadence on here! I have one version with the palette I made and two versions with red overlays, and the normal version again over the Crystal Castle background.

I think I really succeeded in making her look huggable and unique, but I'm now sure if I made her hair look floaty enough to match all the other canon alicorn princesses. I added some red into her pallette to get away from the lavender issue I was having earlier, and replaced all the gold and yellow parts with a single, red-ish, gold color. I also leaned into the green of her cutie mark to make it stand out, and kept the crystal necklace from my earlier design. This is also the first iteration I've done with an eye color, and I chose gold bc I like it more for her than purple eyes. I kept her hair shapes inspired by crystal, but I might still make a version where I color it like crystal too. Her style and crown are inspired by the Crystal Ponies ofc!

introducing Fair Spring, the Princess of Growth

The ruler of Equestria in my AU, she has the role of blessing crops to make sure everypony in the kingdom eats. She is the older sister of Princess Auburn Leaf and is the most beloved princess in the kingdom. Every year, Earth ponies from all reaches travel to Canterlot for celebrations of the seasons, and to bring foals and saplings forth to recieve a mark from the princess. Is is unknown whether this mark contains any magical properties, but it is known that foliage surrounding her looks brighter. The grass is quite literally greener on Princess Fair Spring's side of the castle gate!

Okay I actually finished those finishing touches way faster than I thought lol

I changed her horn and wing shapes to make them better match her aesthetically, changed the angle of her front hoof to make her look less dead, outlined her ear, and gave her a lil smile.

This is the first of my two alicorn OCs! this is for an AU where the two sisters were earth ponies before becoming alicorns.

This is Auburn Leaf, Princess of Decay

She celebrates live forms throughout all stages of their existence, but other ponies find her ability to (sometimes accidentally) rot things in an instant a little... off-putting, we'll say.

I used a bunch of round shapes on her because I think she really is just the most friendly adorable pony, and her floaty hair is shaped like an autumn leaf.

She never wears jewelry, because it would rust or crumble the moment she got upset, and the Princess must be able to keep her composure. Not to mention the sensory hell of necklaces and crowns.

I might still make some modifications to this drawing tbh, so stay tuned! And I will also post the third iteration of my Cadence redesign as well <2

I textured the hair and necklace myself, the cutie mark and shoe baubles are edited pngs of her cutie mark.

This also the first time In posting something without lineart! Lineart is much harder for me in digital art than it is for trad, but I figured out a way I can skip it without it looking like trash!

I also changed her coat color significantly because I'm pretty sure g5 has a lavendar pony with blue hair so I wanted Cadence to look very different from her. I colored her feathers all different colors and added some purple gradients on her extremities, but you'll notice it appears red in places because of the way I changed the color, which was originality a magenta pink. I wanted to make her look more red for, y'know, love, but she kinda looks like she's covered in cheeto dust. The original color is still there in splotches :3 I added some snowflakes, lines, and freckles for texture as well.

I'm also proud of the "curls" at the end of her mane and tail, inspired by her original design. My HC is that Cadence grows up into her Final Form TM years before Twilight does, and that she slowly aquires characteristics of the crystal ponies. The snowflakes represent the Northern Mountains, and besides her hair changing, she gains a shimmery, multicolor coat. Perhaps in the future I'll change her hair pinnings from the classic Canterlot tiara to a Crystal Empire style.

I really tried to distribute the teal evenly, and I also added back in some of the original colors so it would still look like her. I wasn't totally sold tbh, especially since in-show she'd be surrounded by blue colors pretty often in her kingdom, so along with my design edited into a show background, I have some quick-and-dirty color-change-filter versions. This also solves the blue hair issue, so if I ever use one of the alt colors I can switch her coat color back to the magenta version, which I loved.

If anyone has any feedback on the colors or ideas for cool details, lemme know! I want to level up this design because I'm so excited about her <2

I finished another draft of Cadence designs, but I won't post it until tomorrow at least bc I'm super sweepy atm. I can also post a sppedpaint if y'all want, but it won't include the sketching process bc I sketch on paper. My cat says hi btw :3 anyways I've got a detailed post planned explaining my design choices and I'm very proud of her, I love the texturing especially! can't wait <2

Version one of my Cadence design!! I have her done floaty hair and textured it to look like the crystal ponies, and I matched the colors of her jewelry with her cutie mark. This version uses colored lineart directly lifted from my pen sketch with minor proportional alteration. The colors are flat and colorpicked from the show.

I was bored today and decided to make some mlp humanizations✨️

I noticed alot of character sheet use this pose and omit a whole arm to make it simple to make and interpret, so I thought I'd give it a try.

I was super excited for Rarity's rhinestone tights, which match colors with her dress. I didn't have an idea for her outfit at first, and the one I ended up making is inspired from some of the dresses in the show. It caters to her impractical sensibilities with its gravity defying pleats and high slit. It uses two different white to purple gradients to match her color scheme from the show. I also gave her plenty of purple freckles, because unicorn Rarity has a pretty pale coat so my original plan was to give human Rarity a pale skintone plus freckles, and I figured if humans in this universe can produce weird enough pigments to have purple hair, she can have purple freckles too.

The idea behind Fluttershy's overalls is that she had these super old overalls that got holes in the knees, and that she grew too tall for. So a couple years ago, she cut out the knees and replaced them with a different cute fabric that was wide enough to make the pant legs long again. She has gloves to deal with poison and claws, a turtleneck to protect from branches and birs, snacks and bandage in her bag, and soft comfy boots. I'll admit her color scheme is pretty green, but it's hard to imagine her wearing anything else. I also changed her eyes to brown because cyan was not going to cut it, but the teal color is still included in her design.

Some Kotlc characters ft. acne bc not enough ppl draw acne even though I think it's pretty.

I tried to follow different patterns for each character. Biana's is on the "t-zone" of her forehead and nose, Keefe has concentrated groups on his cheeks and uses patches on some of them, and Sophie has fluctuating amounts in my headcanon, I drew sind für her forehead, cheeks, and jawline.

And yes all these are on notebook paper because I ran out of sketchbook pages

I wanted to draw but I didn't feel like drawing smthng good but then I remembered I have free will and I can do whatever the fuck I want, so enjoy this family friendly pony OC that definitely fits in perfectly with the ponies of equestria~~ ID in alt

honestly I love this idea and if I revisit it later, I will use a reference for the fit/hair, rework the cutie mark. but I love the lil sollt and the tail <2 I might sido change the design to include more limbs, to be a pegasus pony, or maybe to be a changeling- which works for the buggy aesthetic, the fact he's an actor and actress fake as hell, and because it would theoretically be cool storyline-wise to make him a species that feeds on love.

I also hold trepidation over his face bc he kinda looks like a G5 pony😭 idkidk

So I wanted to push myself to use pretty dark, saturated values directly next to lighter ones, so I decided to draw some galaxy pattern art <2

I figured since it is easy to do for acrylics and digital, which I have more existiendo with, that I could make it in watercolors too.

blending was pretty hard, and all the green spots disappeared RIP. In other news, all of those bright colors that look like they aren't black at all? they are mixed with like 70% black paint. I still think it's pretty but IDK how to make the Ossining more black w/out doing what UI did to the blue and straight covering up the colors and hoping it blends.

I also took a yellow alcohol marker to make some halos around a couple planets too, plus a blue one and colorless blender to the others.
