BIG RUN SURVIVAL GUIDE (BY YOUR LOCAL SALMONID RIGHTS ACTIVIST!!)

You thought Big Run's were gone? Well, guess what!! It's back, and lucky for many, it's only impacting Wahoo World and places around it!! However, this doesn't mean everybody is off the hook. Even with this smaller scale attack compared to ones like the Big Big Run or Grand Run, there are still things you should do to protect your life. Remember: The most important thing is protecting your life, not protecting the name of a big corporation and the propaganda they spread!! I'll write a essay on Big Run later.

Without further ado, here we go!!

1. REMAIN CALM

Panicking over the red sky, heavy air, and stink aren't going to help anybody. Panicking will only lead to other people panicking, and because of panic, will lead to a multitude of bad things. This includes hires at Grizzco!! (will expand on Grizzco later)

Stay calm and proceed with other safety precautions

2. STAY INSIDE

Now is NOT the time to play Turf War. Especially when it comes to maps in rotation that are near the Big Run site. Invading Salmonids are bound to get lost in the sewers and end up in places their not supposed to be, and unfortunately for them, probably don't know how to keep calm in this situation, leading to issues not only for them, but for those around them.

While stray Salmonid warriors are quite rare, it's best to play it safe and stay inside.

3. LOCK WINDOWS AND DOORS

IT IS BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!! While still on the topic before, stray Salmonids are rare, but can still happen. It is better for you if you stay inside and make sure to lock your doors so no unwanted intruders get in. This is especially important for if you live closer to the Big Run site!

I would also recommend closing your toilet and checking your sink, or any place that connects to the sewer system. Smallfries are notorious for getting lost, and are likely to get in through your toilet or sink if they try hard enough.

4. HAVE A WEAPON CLOSE BY TO DEFEND YOURSELF JUST IN CASE

In the circumstances a Salmonid DOES somehow get in, treat them like any other intruder. Kick them out, use a weapon if necessary. This can range from a big stick to an E-Liter. In an emergency where you find yourself facing off against multiple intruders, make sure you have places to reset and fight back the intruders. If it gets too overwhelming, don't risk it and retreat to higher ground or another room, locking the door.

DO NOT ATTACK ANY STRAY SALMONIDS UNLESS THEY ATTACK YOU!! Some might be armed, some might not be armed. If they don't attack you, don't attack them. Some might be living in town with you! You wouldn't attack a neighbor because of their species, right?

5. DO NOT HELP OUT AT GRIZZCO IF YOU AREN'T WORKING THERE ALREADY

From what I heard, no, you're not gonna get paid well for getting hired during a Big Run. There is so much going on in the building that many new hires are pushed aside, barely paid anything for helping out. But the main reason you shouldn't get hired during a Big Run is because IT IS TOO DANGEROUS!! REMEMBER!! YOUR HIGHEST PRIORITY IS STAYING SAFE!! Putting yourself into danger will have consequences. I've met MANY who got too reckless.

REMEMBER!! BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY!!

AS FOR EMPLOYEES ON THE CLOCK...

DON'T PUSH YOURSELVES. DO NOT FALL FOR THE TRICKS JUST TO GET MORE EGGS. YOUR HERE TO DEFEND YOUR TERRITORY, NOT EXPLOIT.

PROTECT PEOPLE, THAT IS YOUR JOB. YOU ARE NOT HERE TO STEAL EGGS. YOU ARE NOT HERE TO EXPLOIT THE SALMONIDS!! YOU ARE TREATING THEM LIKE THEY TREAT YOU OUT OF BIG RUN!! YOU ARE PROTECTING US FROM INTRUDERS.

so with the big run happening at wahoo world in less than 2 weeks, many people looking to leave grizzco will likely find themselves unable to break out of their contracts in time of the run itself. here's some tips from your local union rep to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of your fellow laborers and of the migrating salmonids:

if you aren't employed at all and see all those openings the weekend of big run, do NOT be tempted by any promises of a high pay grade. new employees are always paid the lowest wages that the company can get away with, and if you sign up as a temp worker they'll almost always worm their way of paying you entirely and claim your shifts as being an unpaid internship

grizzco recruiters target inkfish fresh out of school who aren't familiar with regulatory standards and practices for jobs involving manual labor and don't know their rights as workers. check in with your local chapter of the industrial woomies of the world and they can bring you up to speed on whatever you need to know about your rights

if you are employed at a workplace that was acquired in a grizzco buyout and were grandfathered into the company, double-check the terms your contract. don't let upper management pressure you into big run participation if your contract exempts you from doing salmon runs, despite any claims of it being "mandatory" work

call in sick if you're feeling unwell the day before, even if you know you aren't contagious. grizzco might not pay you sick leave, but they're still obligated to give you that time off. contact the union if you're refused time off and they'll back you up and help you deal with management

never go more than 2 hours on the job without taking a break. make it a minimum of 15 minutes, and make sure you drink some water and have something to eat in the meantime

keep your eye out for the pathways salmonids are taking on land, and make sure nobody crowds around the places where they're surfacing from the water

ink storms can reduce visibility for everybody, not just workers. redirect any drizzler projectiles towards the sky above the ocean so they don't accidentally hit any salmonids on land

if there's a slammin lid out on the field, make sure any workers and salmonids on the ground stay out of its crash radius

don't go out of your way to go past quota. the only reward a hard worker gets is more work

always ask for consent before kissing your coworkers on the job
