It's crazy to me how little Shiv and Roman don't understand just how much Kendall was groomed his whole life by their father to be CEO. They briefly acknowledge: oh yeh that was fucked up that he told you when you were 7 you were gonna be CEO. But they never like... Actually seem to get it. They're too busy being upset that they didn't get the same treatment from Logan, at only ever being told here and there that they would be CEO. They don't actually understand, especially Shiv, that it's not great to actually be raised like how Kendall was. Cos being CEO was made into his entire purpose in life. And now he'll literally never ever achieve his purpose.

The bittersweet thing is, now that that will NEVER happen, he has opportunity to come back and rebound from that mourning and do something else with his life. To actually find himself and see what he wants beyond the identity his dad made him.

So it's both good for him and horrible that Shiv couldn't even allow him to have this one win. And don't try to make out that she did it for good reasons, she screwed the deal because she resented losing and she resented Kendall being the CEO like her dad always wanted him to be. THAT'S what makes what she did so egregious. She didn't do it with good intent. She took EVERYTHING from Kendall. All he had ever wanted was right there and she denied him it just because she couldn't bear him winning while she lost. They both had to lose.

In that scene when kendall went into the sea against the waves, I really though it was him accepting that he COULD be happy if he got out of the shit factory, but it was actually him accepting that no matter how many efforts he made, he couldn't archive happiness because he wasn't made for it, he has always been destined for failure, kendall it's the living proof that one can't escape destiny
