joel miller x sweet girl y/n ୨ৎ
warning - fluff!!! super cute!!
-
joel miller wasn’t much of a talker. his rugged exterior and tough demeanor often kept people at bay. but for some reason, Y/N was different. she was a ray of sunshine in a world that seemed perpetually overcast, her laughter like the tinkling of wind chimes on a breezy day. joel found himself drawn to her warmth, despite his efforts to keep his distance.
It was late afternoon when Joel pulled up to Y/N’s house, his truck rumbling softly as the countryside wind started to pick up. she’d called him earlier, her voice trembling with the weight of stress and worry. he didn’t need to ask twice before offering to take her on a drive—anything to see her smile again.
Y/N climbed into the passenger seat, immediately giving joel a gentle kiss. her eyes red-rimmed but brightening at the sight of him. “hey, joel!” she greeted, her voice soft yet hopeful.
“hey, darlin’,” Joel replied, his voice rough but tender. “figured we could use a little escape, huh sweet pea?”
she nodded, a small blushing smile playing on her lips “yeah, that sounds perfect.” she holds back a giggle of excitement
as they drove out of the city, the scenery transformed from concrete and steel to rolling hills and open fields. joel glanced over at Y/N occasionally, her face relaxed as she took in the view. The song playing on the radio was soft, almost as if it was serenading their journey.
“so, what’s been on your mind hun?” Joel asked, his tone gentle and warm.
y/n sighed, resting her head against the window. “just…everything. work’s been tough, and I feel like I’m constantly running on empty. I needed this, Joel. I needed to just…breathe..it’s tough when i’m alone, ya know? mind constantly fills up with all these thoughts..and.”
Joel reached over, his hand finding hers and giving it a reassuring squeeze. “I’m here for you, Y/N. always. just call me over whenever you want sweet pea. you know i could be a grump sometimes, huh? but i can still take care of ya. isn’t that right?”
She looked at him, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. “thank you, joel. you don’t know how much that means to me.” she almost breaks down into a sob because of how gentle joel is being with her..knowing no one else could ever treat her with such kindness.
joel pulled over at a scenic overlook, noticing you being in the midst of your breakdown, he put the car in park and pulled you into his lap. as he wraps his arms around you he whispers “it’s okay sweet girl.. just don’t cry for me hun, okay?everything will be just fine sweet thang’ i swear to you..no doubt about it.”
she nods her head, wiping the tears away from her eyes and softly kisses joel. “i love you joel, please never go away..promise?” joel looks up at the girl with the vulnerable sweet eyes and just smiles at her exclaiming “of course my love, i love you”
“c’mon, let’s stretch our legs,” he suggested, his voice softer than usual. joel placed the girl on the passenger seat. shutting his door, and running to the other side to open it for y/n before she beats him to it.
y/n followed him to the edge of the overlook, the gentle breeze tugging at her hair. She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath and letting the stress of the past weeks melt away.
“It’s beautiful here,” she murmured.
joel nodded, his eyes not on the view but on her. “yeah, it is.”
she turned to him, a playful smile on her lips. “you’re not even looking at the view, joel.”
he chuckled, the sound rumbling in his chest. “i am. just’ a different one i suppose’ huh?”
y/n blushed, the warmth in her cheeks spreading to her heart. she reached up, cupping his face in her hands. “you’re a good man, joel miller.”
he leaned into her touch, his eyes closing briefly. “only because of you, y/n.”
they stood there, wrapped in each other’s arms, as the sun dipped below the horizon. In that moment, all the stress and worries of the world seemed to vanish, replaced by the simple, profound joy of being together.
as they made their way back to the truck, Y/N slipped her hand into Joel’s, their fingers intertwining. It was a small gesture, but it spoke volumes. they didn’t need words to express what they felt. Sometimes, it was just nice to have a friend—and in each other, they’d found so much more.
the end!
tell me what you think as always ;)

enjoy!
The morning sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. Y/N stirred, her eyes fluttering open to find Joel still sitting beside her, his gaze unwavering. He offered a gentle smile as she woke up, reaching out to brush a stray hair from her face.
“Morning, angel,” he said softly. Going in for a soft kiss on her cheek
“Morning,” she replied, stretching. “Did you stay here all night?”
He nodded. “Couldn’t leave you alone. Wanted to make sure you were okay.”
She sat up, her heart swelling with gratitude. “You didn’t have to do that, Joel. But thank you.”
He gave a small shrug, his eyes serious. “It’s no trouble. You’re worth it.”
After a quick breakfast and a promise from Joel to return that evening, he headed out to take care of some business. Y/N spent the day trying to focus on her tasks, but her thoughts kept drifting back to Joel and his unwavering dedication to her. She couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of appreciation for the man who had become her protector, her anchor in a turbulent world.
When evening rolled around, Joel returned, carrying a bag of groceries. “Thought I’d make us dinner tonight,” he announced, setting the bag down on the kitchen counter.
Y/N’s eyes lit up. “That sounds wonderful.”
As Joel busied himself in the kitchen, Y/N couldn’t help but watch him, admiring the way he moved with a quiet confidence. Despite his rugged exterior and the dangerous world he navigated, there was a gentleness to him that she found incredibly endearing.
Dinner was simple but delicious—pasta with a rich, homemade sauce and a fresh salad. They ate together at the small dining table, the conversation flowing easily as they shared stories and laughed over old memories.
After dinner, they settled on the couch, a comfortable silence wrapping around them. Y/N leaned against Joel, feeling safe and content in his presence. As the night wore on, the weight of the day began to pull at her, and she found herself drifting off to sleep once more.
Joel gently shifted her so she could rest more comfortably, his arm around her shoulders. He watched her sleep, his thoughts a mix of worry and determination. He knew he couldn’t protect her from everything, but he would do everything in his power to shield her from the worst of it.
A sudden loud noise outside shattered the tranquility, snapping Joel to attention. He carefully moved Y/N aside and went to the window, peering through the blinds. Seeing nothing, he quietly made his way to the door, ensuring it was securely locked.
Returning to Y/N’s side, he gently shook her awake. “Angel, wake up. We need to be on alert.”
She blinked sleepily, confusion giving way to concern as she registered his tone. “What’s going on?”
“Not sure yet, but I heard something outside. Stay close to me.”
She nodded, her trust in him unwavering. They moved to a safer spot in the apartment, Joel keeping his senses sharp. Minutes passed in tense silence, but when no further noises came, he began to relax, though he remained vigilant.
“Think it’s safe now,” he said softly, pulling her into a comforting embrace.
Y/N clung to him, her heart still racing. Shock still lingering on her face..“Thank you, Joel. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
He held her tightly, his voice a low rumble in her ear. “You don’t have to worry about that, darlin. I’ll always be here for you.”
Joel pulls y/n in by the waist holding her tightly as he wraps his arms around her tiny frame, giving her a kiss on the forehead. His head filling with the worst scenario’s he could ever imagine..he would rather be dead than to not provide and protect Angel.
Y/n slowly closes her eyes as her breath slowly drifts off to a normal rhythm..she has so much to say about to run off of the tip of her tongue but her brain won’t let her speak.
They returned to the couch, but sleep was elusive for both of them. Joel kept a watchful eye on the windows and doors, his protective instincts on high alert. Y/N, sensing his tension, tried to stay awake, her hand resting on his arm in silent support.
As the night slowly turned to dawn, Joel finally relaxed, the immediate threat seemingly passed. He looked down at Y/N, who had dozed off again, her trust in him absolute. His heart ached with the depth of his feelings for her, and he knew he would go to any lengths to keep her safe.
With the first light of morning filtering through the curtains, Joel gently kissed her forehead. “Sleep, angel. I’ve got you.”
In the days and weeks that followed, Joel remained a constant presence in Y/N’s life. He took her to and from work, always ensuring she was safe. He spent countless nights watching over her, his protective instincts never wavering. Despite the dangers of his world, he made sure she had a sanctuary, a place where she could find peace and safety.
Through it all, Y/N grew to understand just how much Joel cared for her. His actions spoke volumes, his dedication unwavering. She knew she was more than just someone he needed to protect—she was someone he cherished deeply.
And as the days turned into months, Joel and Y/N forged an unbreakable bond, built on trust, respect, and an unspoken promise to always be there for each other. In a world filled with darkness and danger, they found light and safety in each other’s arms, knowing that together, they could face anything.

The dingy back room of the strip club was a stark contrast to the bright, garish lights and loud music that filled the main floor. Y/N sat in front of the small, cracked mirror, carefully wiping away her makeup. Her shift had just ended, and exhaustion weighed heavily on her shoulders.
Working at the “Pink Pony” club as one of the many dancers was something she had loved to do, the makeup, pink lights and the cowgirl persona was everything she thought she needed..until she met Joel.
One night she was dancing on stage, swaying her hips to the melody of “Super freak” maintaining eye contact with the crowd, but only having one interest on a head full of silver hair..
Joel Miller had been waiting outside, his broad frame leaning against the wall as he kept a watchful eye on the entrance. He’d been there every night, ensuring she got to and from work safely. He hated this place, hated seeing her in this environment, but he respected her choice and understood why she did it. She had dreams, aspirations, and this job was a means to an end.
When Y/N finally emerged, Joel straightened up, his gaze softening as it landed on her. “You ready to go, angel?” Stealing a peck on her lips full of love
Pecking back playfully she nodded, a tired smile playing on her lips. “Yeah, I’m ready.”
Joel walked beside her, his presence a comforting shield against the dangers of the night. As he wraps his arm around her tightly they made their way to his truck, and he opened the door for her, waiting until she was settled before closing it and climbing into the driver’s seat.
The drive was quiet, the hum of the engine and the occasional street noise the only sounds. Joel glanced over at her, his concern evident. “You alright, darling?” Joel puts his hand on her thigh.
She sighed, leaning her head against the window. “Just tired, Joel. It’s been a long night.”
He nodded, his grip tightening on the steering wheel. “You know you don’t have to do this. I can help you out.”
“I know,” she replied softly, “but I want to do this on my own terms. It’s just… temporary.”
Joel respected her determination, even if it pained him to see her in such a harsh world. “Just promise me you’ll be careful.”
“I promise,” she said, reaching over to squeeze his hand. “Thank you, Joel. For everything.”
He gave her a small smile, his heart aching with the need to protect her. “Always, angel. Always.”
When they arrived at her small apartment, Joel insisted on walking her to her door. He waited as she unlocked it, his eyes scanning the hallway for any signs of trouble. Once inside, she turned to him, her expression grateful yet weary.
“Can you stay for a bit?” she asked, her voice almost a whisper.
“Of course,” he replied without hesitation, closing the door behind him.
Y/N headed to the bathroom to wash off the remnants of her night. Joel took the opportunity to make a pot of coffee, his mind wandering to all the ways he wished he could shield her from the world. When she returned, she looked more like the Y/N he knew—fresh-faced and vulnerable.
They sat on the worn-out couch, sipping coffee in comfortable silence. Joel’s arm was draped protectively over the back of the couch, his presence a solid, reassuring weight.
“How was your night?” she asked, breaking the silence.
“Same old,” he replied with a shrug. “Had some work to do, but nothing I couldn’t handle.”
Y/N nodded, her eyes reflecting a mix of admiration and concern. “You always seem to handle everything, Joel.”
He chuckled softly. “Not everything, darling. Just doin’ my best.”
She leaned her head on his shoulder, finding solace in his steadiness. “Your best is more than enough.”
As the night wore on, Joel helped her prepare for bed, ensuring she had everything she needed. He checked the locks on her doors and windows, his protective instincts kicking into high gear. “You need anything else?” he asked, standing in her bedroom doorway.
“No, I’m good,” she said, slipping under the covers. “Just… stay until I fall asleep?”
“Of course,” he said, pulling up a chair beside her bed.
She closed her eyes, the tension of the day melting away in his presence. Joel watched over her, his heart filled with a fierce determination to keep her safe. The world outside was harsh and unforgiving, but he would make sure she had a sanctuary, a place where she could find peace.
As she drifted off to sleep, Joel stayed vigilant, his gaze never leaving her. He knew he couldn’t protect her from everything, but as long as he was around, he would do everything in his power to shield her from harm. She was his light in a dark world, and he would guard that light with everything he had.
Y/N slept peacefully, the worries of her world fading into the background. And Joel, her steadfast guardian, kept watch, ready to face any threat that dared to come her way.
