You jumped at hearing him say "hello" to you. You hadn't talked to him at all and he was even more mesmerizing up close. You had finally gathered up the internal composure to say something back to him and decided to just greet him with a simple "hello" and a small smile. He sat beside you and introduced himself. "my name is spider, what's yours?" you quickly responded "my name is y/n". After that quick introduction you began a conversation you both became so enveloped in. You were confused but happy to see him again as you knew this would be a wonderful path to a long beautiful friendship. But of course Eywa had more in mind for the two of you.

Over a course of months which turned into quite a few years you grew closer and eventually became inseparable. The scientists had confronted you many times tell you he was a bad influence and that you could get hurt with how reckless you were acting but all you wanted was to be with him. He understood more than anyone else, and he was sweet, and he showed you the beauty of the nature that surrounded you that you wanted so bad to live in. The want to fall asleep with all of it around you grew even more as your feelings for spider grew. You knew you were good at hiding it but that was only because you didn't want to mess up the friendship you and spider had.

You were snapped out of your thoughts at the sound of Spider's worried voice, "hey, are you okay? usually you would be talking away until my ears fell off." Ending that snarky remark with a laugh he looks at you with eyes are worry but there's a look in there you can't figure out, but it's eating at you not knowing what it is. Your eyes meet his with a cheerful smile back on your face. He lays his hand against yours and your eyes grow wide as you begin to feel like there's a million butterflies flying around in your stomach. Your eyes are still meeting each other's but that contact is broken once he pulls his hand away and looks away with a flushed look on his face ."I-I'm so sorry I didn't mean to make it awkward! What is wrong with me?!". He says as he looks everywhere but you. Before he could apologize million more times, You hear Kiri's roaring voice interrupt to tell you that you should start heading out since the darkness is a approaching in the sky. Spider quickly gets up and heads out with Neteyam and Lo'ak. You and Kiri walk together since you both were more far back than the boys. "So what was all the awkwardness with you and Spider about?- Wait, did he finally tell you!". Kiri's sequence of words both dreads, and confuses you but irks your curiosity. Your face goes into a deadpanned expression, "Spider does not like me, so stop giving me false hope-". You quickly stop yourself before you can finish that sentence but Kiri is notices everything, and she catches you. "Aha! I knew you liked him too! you know, you're both so oblivious and terrible at hiding your feelings. You're better than him, that's for sure but not enough to get past my observations." Your eyes widened and you quickly tried to shush her but she had already went to got tell spider. You see him look back at you and a glint of excitement emits from his demeanor, and he runs to you and hugs you. "Is it true?" he asks you smile and decide it's too late to go back now. "yes, it's true. I honestly am surprised that you couldn't tell. I mean I've liked you for YEARS" He laugh and you started laughing too. You all let out loud laughter before continuing heading home.
