The moment wouldn't last much longer. One more text and he would give in. Appear in the cafe as he used to. He groaned and threw his phone on the table.

[text] I know that we don’t always get along but I really do miss you.

Lucian stared at the text for a long time. One hand unconsciously tapping on the dinnertable as he pondered over how to respond. He’d let her go. He’d managed to convince himself to. He wasn’t sure he would be able to do so again. 

[Text]: No.

In an unexpected moment of sensibility he pressed send.

Lucian leaned against the front of the counter "Trust me when I tell you you don't want to know" his mouth betrayed the hint of a smirk before chuckling "Oh no, it does something much, much worse" he pushed off the counter, grabbed a pair of gloves from a nearby stand and tugged them on before gently lifting the urn "I will relocate this to a safer spot" he turned to dissapear into one of the dark corners of the shop but threw a look over his shoulder before he left "Don't touch anything else either, promise me love ?"

Dalton quickly withdrew his hand. “O-oh. What does it do exactly?” he asked as he looked from the interesting urn to Lucian. He wondered what it was doing here in plain view if it was that dangerous, however he didn’t ask. “Does it eat your hands?!” he asked wide eyed at the thought.
