status: open !
location: weasley wizard wheezes, diagon alley
see, this was what george hated - the shop was packed to the brim all day with magical folk of all ages, eager to see the weasley’s new invention for themselves. however, as the day grew close to an end, and the sky became increasingly darker in colour, the streets of diagon alley emptied out, slowly but surely. people were eager to return home, as to not be caught off-guard by something ( or someone ) sinister lurking in the streets at night, so they passed by weasley wizard wheezes quickly, without throwing the shop another glance.
not that george was complaining about not having to work his arse off the whole day - but as customers left, and the shop grew silent, apart from the whirring of an invention or the sizzling of a firework here and there, it also grew increasingly difficult to ignore one’s own thoughts. and so geroge often spent the last couple hours of his working day sat on the stair up to the first floor with a pint in his hand, thinking about fred. thinking about how everything had been so much easier, and so much more fun, with his twin still around.
the sound of a bell ringing ripped george out of his thoughts. someone had entered the shop - highly unusal, even though it was two hours before closing time - and he sighed. “ we’re closed, sorrry mate. “, he yelled into the general direction of the other person, before adding, “ unless you’re sure you want to buy something? cause then we’re open. “
Angelina realized that she had become the very thing she hated. She had become accustomed to routine and her whole life felt like it was always a bore between waking up and going to work and repeating it all over again. She felt this strange weight on her shoulders lately that had her dragging her feet as she walked from time to time but with the times being as they were, it was to be expected right? Still... it wasn’t a feeling she was fond of. It made her miss Quidditch. It made her miss the excitement of it all. The thrill of not knowing what was going to happen next. What the match would bring. To this day, Angie curses herself constantly for the mistakes she made and now has to live with. She figured that she might pay an old friend a visit. Someone she hadn’t seen in some time. Angie snuck in slowly as she noticed there wasn’t that many people around the shop, she peeked around before she heard his familiar voice, “Darn.. here I thought I still had two hours.” She chuckled, “Where you hidin’ at, George?”

Cursed objects were always a favorite thing of Eliza. Even more so, she liked to collect them from time to time. The ring she carried with her from time to time had slipped out of her pocket by accident. It was a beautiful ring with an emerald gem. The curse of the object was weak enough that it had no effect on her. She felt the absence of the ring as she patted her pocket to put it back on after finishing her paper work for her last case. She turned around to see the plain discomfort on the other’s face who had picked up her ring, her eyebrows raised and her innocent yet somehow off putting smile stretched over her features. “Oops, that’s mine. Mind giving it back?”
location: outside of the ministry status: open
Angie was no stranger to cursed objects. She knew about them from a few cases she had involving people dying to the effects of them. She stared at the ring a moment before she slowly looked up to lock eyes with her. Angie stared at her almost as if she wanted to interrogate her there and then but she hesitated. She kept her hand wrapped around the ring though but something about her smile was off and it made her uncomfortable. “I do actually.. why are you walking around with a cursed ring?”

“ i’ve heard the grim reaper doesn’t sleep so - here’s hoping ! ” jed teased. he didn’t really want her dead, just out of his office. “ what are you here for again ? and can it be done much quicker ? if you’re looking for mary, she’s out . ”
She was never a fan and something about him just gave her a bad vibe. She could never quite put her finger on it. What’s worse is she figured he could easily pick on that now with how unstable she felt lately. Angie cleared her throat, “Do you know when she’s going to return? I need to request paperwork on a recent incident. It’s for a case.”

where – a Street. diagon alley/hogsmeade high street/somewhere in london/etc. who – lee & open.
“Oh, that’s just what I needed,” grumbled Lee as he watched dark coffee spread over his T-shirt, wincing slightly at the heat. Today was a bad day. Well, it was a bad week, or months really, but today the world just seemed out to get him particularly. His coffee ( which he needed quite desperately ) spilling was just the cherry on top of a rather shitty milkshake. As the hot fluid seared his skin, he raised his voice as he cursed, “Morgana’s saggy tits.” And then, Lee was occupied attempting to hold the rest of his coffee with one hand, while scrambling for his wand to cast a drying charm. A few more cursewords slipped from his lips, a waterfall of profanity like, “Fuck, fuck, fuck.” He wished he had three hands. Or a thousand, perhaps, though that might look a little odd. Trying to see if there was a table or something around where he could place his coffee, he let his gaze fly up, and found himself making eye contact with someone who’d most definitely overheard him. “Aye, er - shit. Sorry, pardon my French.”
Angelina had spotted him from afar as she was heading home from a long day at work but she hadn’t called out to him in attempts to not scare him but it seemed like he was preoccupied to begin with. The brunette walked closer now, hands stuffed into her coat pockets and realized he probably wasn’t having the best of days. She offered her famous grin in attempts to offer some comfort to him as she reached for his coffee to prevent him from spilling anymore. “You’re good. I’ve heard much much worse. Let me help ya.”

“I’m the good guy, remember?
There was evident panic in her voice when she snapped at her. She had found herself here, a place that used to be of comfort for her so many times before but sometimes just served as a memory for the person who she used to run to. Angelina had been having nightmares ever since the Halloween party and she often finds herself cursing at the fact that she had relapsed and caved so easily. She looked up at Parvati and stepped back from her, taking a deep breath to relax, “You’re right-- I’m sorry for snapping at you like that..”

“ that’s not good for you. “ jed commented, eyes falling on the cup of coffee in the other’s hand. folding the daily prophet he had been reading in half, he scoffed before they could answer, “ give yourself a heart attack then, see if i care. ”
Angelina had a cup in hand and she was trying to just relax before an upcoming case when she heard the voice of someone she had seen briefly while working in the ministry. She looked over at Jed and couldn’t help but let out an agitated sigh. “It’s too early for this, don’t you think?”

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER SENTENCE STARTERS — quotes from season five of the wb television series. feel free to make alterations. memes from other seasons can be found here.
you’ve heard of me?
you’re known throughout the world.
i’m the good guy, remember?
you know what i feel? bored.
i’m finished being everybody’s butt-monkey!
people gotta respect a solid work ethic.
boy, you’ve really thought this through – how bored were you last year?
you there? look, i know you’re still mad, but i figure you’re probably sitting there pretending you’re not home but listening anyway.
we should continue to pretend we heard none of the disturbing sex talk.
i’m too grossed out to hear anything you have to say.
i never really liked you, anyway. and – and you have stupid hair.
you wanna take [name] out of here against her will? you gotta come through me.
i don’t care what happens.
i, for one, didn’t want to start my day with a slaughter, which really just goes to show how much i’ve grown!
are you stupid or something?
thank you very much for those nightmares.
[name]’s got a type, and you’re not it.
alone time always translates into ‘let’s get [name] out of the house so we can have loud, obnoxious sex.’
i don’t say that. no one says that. no one talks that way.
when were you going to tell me about this?
i’m leaving, [name]. unless you give me reason to stay.
what more do you want from me, [name]? i’ve given you everything i have.
i have finesse! i have finesse coming out of my bottom!
i could do that, but i’m paralyzed with not caring very much.
i cringe to think what the place would have looked like if i’d been away for longer than three days.
we’re lesbian, gay-type lovers.
morning sunshine! if you’ve come round for eggs and sausages, afraid i’m fresh out.
are you okay? did she hurt you?
why do you care?
the point is, i work hard for that money.
you have got some nerve coming back here after breaking my boo-boo’s heart.
we’re gonna work on it in the morning, i mean, unless you want to stay for a while.
gosh, i’d forgotten how much fun dating can be.
he’ll see your amazing heart, and he’ll fall in love with you.
i can stay in town as long as you want me.
you really think you’re going to score points with [name] this way?
we’re all hip to your doomed obsession.
she was the only one who didn’t treat me like a freak.
you tell her about this, i’ll put you in the ground.
i thought all children despise effort and enjoy cartoons.
people do strange things when someone they love dies.
whatever you choose, you’ve got my support.
i’m not evil, but i don’t think i can be good.
she’s my everything.
any last words?
[name]’s going to try to cook. want to watch the tears and recriminations?
we’re not all gonna make it. you know that?
always knew i’d go down fightin’.
i’m counting on you to protect her.
i know you’ll never love me.
i know that I’m a monster, but you treat me like a man.
the hardest thing in this world is to live in it. be brave. live – for me.

The truth is that the alcohol still has the same effect. It brings back the old Angelina who was all smiles and witty remarks. She feels giddy although still completely unaware of what she drank. Angelina always had this way of noticing people. Fred used to say it was a gift and a curse at the same time. Maybe that was why becoming a lawyer made sense. She saw the little details in people and although they weren’t always obvious. She could tell there was something on the woman’s shoulders next to her. Although she knew it was not her place to pry but maybe-- maybe she could help ease it. Angie leaned forward by the bar and so she could get the other’s attention, “You pulled off your costume really well! I especially love the way your hair turned out. Sandy, right?” closed starter: @ofenchantment (maise) location: poison apple, knockturn alley

Angelina and Kodi used to go out a lot and she enjoyed the other’s company. However, since she returned, Angie had put a certain distance between them and she knew that was because Angie was afraid to give into her self destructive behaviors all over again but she had no ill will against the other.... right? It was strange at first to find out about her and Alicia’s relationship and she tried so hard to bury the hurt that she couldn’t help but feel but she knew she didn’t deserve it. Angie was aware that she had left and Alicia was free to do what she wanted with who she wanted. Still, it plagued the back of her mind.
And now those emotions seemed heightened again and Angie has never been one to dwell in negative emotions. They make her feel sick. She can feel the tension and she tries her best to take a breath as they head to a room. Maybe this wasn’t the best idea. “So-- how have you been?” The question seems stupid but she needs to break this silence that had made the tension far worse. Angie had never been good with silence.

She looks familiar and Angie can’t pinpoint where she’s seen her before but she knows she has. She’s staring and she reminds herself that probably is not the best first impression so she looks away. Again the thought keeps repeating in her mind and she finally turns and looks at her, “Um... excuse me. I can’t help but wonder where I’ve seen you before.. this is probably weird but what’s your name? Have we met before?” She tapped her fingers against the bar top as she had finally found a seat to relax for a moment in.

It’s enough to give her that warm sensation. A slight numbness and she’s tempted to grab another being unaware of the side effects still. Angie was looking for something to snack on because eating is better than getting another drink. It’s hard to see with so many people as well as the dim lighting in the spirit of Halloween so when she bumps into someone, she can’t make out a face at first. Angie steps back and shakes her head, “I am so so sorry, I can’t really see where I am going and that’s probably because I’m a lightweight now since I haven’t drank in a good while but that’s probably not here nor there.” The words just flowed out without a second thought and then her eyes widened. “Ginny!” She threw her hands around her when she recognized her familiar face. Angie pulled back, “Daphne? It looks super cute! Are you here alone?” She stares at her for just one brief moment, “It just hit me just how much you’ve grown--” Her voice fades out for a moment and she cleared her throat and shakes her head, her smile returning. “How’s your night going?”

Would she beat herself up in the morning? Yes. That was without question. She wasn’t sure how she gave into the peer pressure to do it from a group of former classmates and quidditch players. Angelina had always been someone to stand firm on her beliefs but maybe it was the fact that she had slowly been cracking already. Craving it again. She had been doing everything to keep herself entertained and busy to keep her mind off of the feeling but all she wanted to be lately was numb. Just one drink. No harm in that, right? She used to be a heavy drinker so she figures that no harm, no foul. She feels fine-- more than fine, great, actually.
Angelina had decided to walk around the maze in the building that they had set up. She walked out of the room with mirrors and was laughing at herself at how often she had ended up bumping into herself on the attempt to get out. She felt light again. Like the weight had been lifted off her shoulders at least for that moment. She walked out of the room and bumped into someone, the giggles still spilling from her lips as she looked up to lock eyes with Oliver. “Ollie!” She said with a grin, a nickname she only ever called them when they were alone. She eyed him a second, “Are you an angel? Well, whatever it is you are.. you look good. Really good.” Angie’s eyes widened a second. She used to have a mini crush on him when she was younger but that was something that she hadn’t even told Alicia and she had never really spoken to him like that. She cleared her throat, “Anyways-- um, are you going into this room? It’s kinda lame.” She tried to switch topics.

susan was, well, SUSAN WAS A BIT DRUNK. she wasn’t sure if she was even by the stands anymore, and that’s because she wasn’t, she was by the entrance, sprawled across the grass on her back, looking at the swirling sky above her. she could still hear the noise of the pitch, and it was a comfort for her, but she was more intent to watch the clouds, until she noticed them. “ excuse me, “ she said softly. “ you’re really blocking my sunlight. “
Angelina had noticed who it was on the grass and maybe it was because she wanted to be alone that she was there but Angelina had to check on her. She had barely just approached when Susan asked her to move and she did quickly, taking a seat next to her friend now on the grass. “Hey..” Her voice had a soft tone to it. “Are you alright? I just wanted to make sure.. since I saw ya over here.”

Helen didn’t particularly enjoy or care about quidditch, ballet was the most of her athletic likings. But Noah was obsessed with it, watching it kept him alive to her in a way. She propped herself up against a pillar, watching the excitement of some and the general uncaring of others.
“All of these people are here just to watch people chase a little ball?” Helen was not necessarily talking to anyone in particular, not like they would care about the other’s response. “Odd.”
Angelina was always very preceptive of her surroundings. Ever since the war, she always kept an alert eye on everything and when she saw this woman, something about her felt... off. Angie paid no mind though because after all, she didn’t know who she was so as long as she didn’t engage then it was fine. Until it wasn’t. Angie was very defensive over Quidditch. Something that she probably inherited from Oliver over their years of being together on a team. She couldn’t play anymore but her passion and love for the support had never faded. “And yet... you’re here?” She said as she glanced at her from the corner of her eyes.

“i’m having a blast,” oliver spoke with a forced smile as he lifted his beer in the air. it was a lie, and an obvious one at that. “i can’t remember the last time i actually got to watch a match,” another lie, he could recall the details of every game of quidditch he’d ever watched or played in, but still harmless. it was rather obvious that the male was upset, perhaps even a little angry that he wasn’t going to be on the pitch. but he tried his best to hide it behind a wide smile and small talk- determined to not come off as a sore loser. “who are you cheering for?” he asked his companion, arching an eyebrow as he took a long sip of the beer in his hand.
Angelina recognized the look that Oliver was giving her. She had personally been in his shoes many times before but she tried not to push it too hard. Yet. Angelina never missed one of Ginny’s or Oliver’s matches. She had always been there to try and support her friends in any means. She was their biggest cheerleader most of the time but something about this match, the air around them just felt a little different. A bit off to her. She glanced over at him from the corner of her eyes. Angelina had just sat and listened which was unusual for her but this was the first time in a while that she had the opportunity to be with her friend. She tried to offer a comforting smile but she was worried for Oliver. “The Holyhead Harpies, of course.” She said with a grin. Angie looked around the crowd and made a face, “Merlin, I miss Quiddtich..” She admitted quietly.
