“G U T O M”

Movie Review

The short film was about a guy who tries to end his life because of the problems his experiencing. There’s a beggar who ask for food to him, the beggar didn’t know that with what he did he saves that persons life just by asking for food because he was so hungry.  Gutom is the tagalog word for hungry, the story of a beggar who only wants to eat and This beggar meets a student and shares an unforgettable fact of life.

The short film was great. The lightnings are great because it not that dark when its focuses on the beggar and the guy. The audio was great because the characters pronounce the word clearly even the beggar. The video was great also because it has a heart warming advice from the beggar. It has a lots of lesson we must put into our minds especially about ending our lives? Instead of ending our lives we must think of others before doing it. Just like what the beggar says “life is like food, we must appreciate all the foods because not all the time we can eat delicious food but even our food is not delicious we still need to eat. Not all the time we do like all the things that happens in our life, but we have to do it. The only basis is if we’re hungry. Its hard to be hungry but the truth is we really experience being hungry. We still have a reason to live even we are only alone life must still go on no matter what. As long as there is food, savor it, bitter or sweet. Until there’s food will be happy. Just like life not all the time we get what we want but that doesn’t mean we need to stop.”

“C H E A T”

 Movie Review

The film was about a guy who named Roy Albert A. Dela Cruz tries to study at night but all of his reviewers that not come to his mind. The next day is their exam week but still his confident even though he did not review. Even he’s just like that he still passed in his class not only passing but also getting a high scores and grades. Roy says that “Cheating is a natural way of survival”. Roy is cheating because he doesn’t want to repeat. The film is about cheating for a you as a person to pass according to Roy in the film. Its easy to copy but hard to face consequences. Roy was caught cheating inside their class and being called by their teacher. The teacher gave him advice that it is better that you are learning than to pass because of copying answers. Its hard that you are depending on other answers just to pass exam, its better to answer on your own. After that Roy graduated and learned so much about what he did.

The film was really relatable for me because I admit I also cheat in class. After I watch this film I put on my mind that I should not always depend on others always because not all the time we can depend on others. The film has a good lightning though its a little bit blurry. The audio was not that good because its like there’s a blast when you watch it but the voice of the character was clear. The video was good and nice but there is something I’m looking for.

“T A Y A”

Movie Review

A 12 year-old boy named Junjun finds himself running around his new found home which where they moved,  with different children who taught him various Filipino games in that place where they moved. The place where they move is called “squater area”. Unaware of the impending relocation plans set to destroy their new home, Junjun continues to learn and play different Filipino games like Bangsak, Bente Uno, Mataya-taya and other Filipino games with his friends. He soon discovers this demolition during a series of games that momentarily stops their playing. Set against the backdrop of a slum area in Quezon City, Junjun and his friends return to their games with or without a house to go home to.  A year later, Junjun and his friends continued to play their games with the destroyed houses as their playground.

The short film implies about demolition because as what I watched on the last part it showed and focused about the demolition of their are. The short film is also connected from what’s happening to our society which is the EJK or Extra Judicial Killings. The main characters on the short film are  Junjun-Luis Amodan, Eli-Sherleen Jan Surian, Dodong-Michael Bonapos, Alvin-Alvin Salipo, Elvis-Elvis J. Sabellano, Mark-Mark Asi Villanueva, Billy-Billy Carosa. The lightnings of the short film was great because there are no parts in the movie that has focus on the characters without good lightnings. The audio was great because every pronunciation of the characters are clear and easy to understand. The video was great because the way they shoot are clear and the visual are HD and it has a very great lesson. So the lesson that I have learned is that  Life goes on but the traces and marks of the past can never be erased.
