the thing is that childhood doesn't just end when you turn 18 or when you turn 21. it's going to end dozens of times over. your childhood pet will die. actors you loved in movies you watched as a kid will die. your grandparents will die, and then your parents will die. it's going to end dozens and dozens of times and all you can do is let it. all you can do is stand in the middle of the grocery store and stare at freezers full of microwave pizza because you've suddenly been seized by the memory of what it felt like to have a pizza party on the last day of school before summer break. which is another ending in and of itself

Jayce's protectiveness and need to be with Viktor after realising Viktor is dying is special to me but also makes me want to scream.

Prior to the hospital scene it's the "Are you sure this is safe?" "Of course not" and while Jayce does look concerned he leaves the lab. (He had that meeting with Mel but still)

After the hospital he immediately becomes slightly more protective and stays even if it's dangerous, the scene with the bomb. When Viktor triggers it Jayce panics but he doesn't leave Viktor even though they could've both blown up/been hurt.

Then when the hexcore destroys the plants Jayce instantly moves in front of Viktor. Another instant of this protectiveness is when Heimerdinger says he's shutting it down after seeing the plant + hexcore and Jayce says "No I won't let you" and "Professor this could save Viktor's life" which is what triggers Jayce into taking Heimerdinger off the council. While he does bring up other points to it in the meeting itself the main motivation was this scene with Viktor.

Then finally the whole "Promise me" scene Jayce did not want to make that promise, we visibly see him hesitate to make it and only accepting because of how important it was to Viktor. Unfortunately for Viktor in the opening of s2 we see Jayce's love and want for Viktor to live was more important as he breaks it to save him.

Fun fact there was an argue in the XXVII century about Andromeda's skin colour and Velázquez's master, Pacheco, said Andromeda was supposed to be black because ethiopian people are black. And other academics and artists said that Ovidio described Perseus thoughts something like "she looked like a marble statue" so those academics and artists asumed she was white because marble is white... But!!!! Probably Ovidio wasn't being racist here, because marble statues were painted and he used other latin words that were used to describe physically black people as black people. Back to the argument in the XXVII century, i'm not saying they weren't racist, but there's an important factor to know here: the ancient marble statues they knew were marble white and had long lost their colours. And It wasn't until the xix century when academics discovered that the romans and greeks painted their marble statues and buildings. (I highly recomend you to look for the assassins creed Odyssey depictions of ancient Greece because it's pretty accurate about the colours of the buildings. My teacher put us a promo video of the Game to show us that part and It was fun.) So, to wrap this up, they based their racism in a more than probably missinterpretation of a text because they lacked the info and that's why artists depicted an ethiopian princess as a white-blonde hair woman instead of a black ethiopian princess.

Not sure what’s going on right now over in Conservative World, but it’s a hell of wild U-turn for them to suddenly switch from “Oh no! The left is sexualizing our children!” to “Oh no! The left is asexualizing our children!”
