Tokyo Ghoul S1 Review Ep. 1

Where do I even begin. Okay, well at first I was led to understand this woman, looking to be stark naked was feeding on some people in an aquarium. Why an aquarium? Were all the dark mugging alleys taken? Well, that part was...interesting at least.

Then this masked guy comes in and has the fakest laugh I think I’ve ever heard in my life. Can we all just stop and take a moment to get past how cringe-y him cracking his fingers was? Please, never do that again. Then he gets upset because the lady took his pliers things?

What were those? Someone please tell me. Okay so moving on can we appreciate how adorable Rize is? Like, of course the two most adorable characters are gonna go on a date. Rize x Kaneki am I right?

No. God no. Apparently not. The anime couldn’t just let me live that lie. So turns out, Rize’s a ghoul...fun. Apparently she’s the binge eater that was snacking down at the aquarium place before mister cringe came along.

Sighs.

Now, will someone PLEASE explain to me HOW Kaneki didn’t DIE when he was THROWN through a mother f****ing slab of concrete wall or whatever? That, that should have killed him like almost instantly. I’m not physics major but no way he should have survived that long enough for an ambulance to get there.

Also, is this some kind of Danny Phantom bullshit? Kid gets an organ transplant and suddenly he’s a ghoul? Is that how organs work? I get the like freaking kidney of a serial killer then I’m a serial killer???? What is science in this anime?

Then again, I am no stranger to anime logic so moving on. I really don’t understand how Rize died from construction pipe things... She’s like a seriously high level ghoul right? Right? I dunno for sure but, I mean from what I have come to understand, Ghouls aren’t easy to kill.

Not to mention that clearly Rize was super fast so why couldn’t she just move out of the way? She clearly saw the pipes before they landed, as a ghoul she had ample time to get the heck out of the way. Again, anime logic...all for the purpose of storylines right?

Okay so, then we get to Kaneki in the hospital hooray? He alive okay that’s all that matters right? Nope. He’s another innocent victim of anime protagonist story arc bulls***. He’s apparently part Ghoul now, great. 

I need to take so many moments but can we all just appreciate what a good freaking friend Hide is? He is the best, damn most of my family wouldn’t bring me food if I just got out of the hospital. Balloons maybe but I cannot eat those...

I felt so, so horribly bad in my soul for Kaneki when he wasn’t able to eat anything Hide brought him or even anything he already had all because of some illogical transplant that made him a ghoul...

Then we get to this cute little damaged purple haired girl named Toka who decides she’s gonna try and help Kaneki. By help of course I mean force feed him human flesh from some dead guy that another ghoul was previously feeding on before some dick named Nishiki sauntered in and popped his head off like some kind of Barbie doll.

He ran out of there like I run after ice cream when Toka pretty much whooped his a**. So, after hearing some unnecessary gulping noise, presumably from Kaneki being force fed human flesh, the episode ends. Yup. This is going to be a great anime. 

Can’t you tell already?

P.S. Yeah, I know this anime’s been out for a while and yes I know most of you have probably already seen it but if not, and you can stomach gore like this, go for it. It’s rad. #munisnotcoolatall....

Hello fellow animeniacs! 

It’s your friendly neighborhood Anii here and today, I’m going to be watching the first episode of Tokyo Ghoul. Keep in mind everyone I will not be watching any of the “dubbed” videos because, who would want to? Right? 

Well, if you want me to I can do some comparisons b/w subbed and dubbed later. I’m not sure at the moment if I will be doing audio recordings or not but I will definitely be typing my poor purple holo nail polished nails off because I have so many opinions on so many things.
