Each new experience from packing boxes to moving trucks to rearranging furniture are events that your cat or dog or both get to show up to without knowing ahead of time they are coming. As many plans and expectations as you have for your new place you pet simply cannot share them. This is all foreign, uncharted territory outside of the realm of the routine world your cat or dog has come to know and depend on. Knowing this, how can you make that move less stressful for the companion animals in your household?

“There’s an owl in the picture here, a great horned owl sitting on a branch in Central Park’s North Woods looking outwards. It’s not a great shot, I took it with my phone. There was not enough light and the owl is facing away from the camera. But if you look closely you can make out those ear tufts these owls are named for. The owl is pretty high up in that tree, at least twenty feet from the ground. But that’s part of the point for the owl isn’t it? “

While busy may be a squirrel's middle name, part of getting ready for winter is what to eat now and what to store for later. Saving the good stuff underground is called "caching" (and if a squirrel thinks someone is watching - they are not good sharers - they will make false caches). They will also organize their stashes by quality, variety and preference called "chunking." But when you happen across something yummy to eat right now - tell me @13 that's not what s/he's saying?? Yummy and we humans love watching non humans chew with their mouths open! Adorbs!!
