What's with everyone acting like Jiren is out of character for his comment to Toppo? He's been like this the whole time. Like, for example, when he was stepping on Goku's back. Or lifting him up by his hair. Or mocking him (and everyone else) for not being worth his time. Or when he literally mocked U7 about their impending deaths, sarcastically asking "Well? How did the last victory you'll ever experience taste?". And now him calling Goku and Vegeta "Impudent bastards" and telling Toppo (his teammate, boss, and "sworn friend") "How pathetic" he is. I mean, his signature move is to turn his back on his opponent after attacking them and declaring that "It's over" (a major sign of disrespect). He's disrespectful, arrogant, and self righteous, which is completely consistent with Toriyama's portrayal of "Justice" (see: Zamasu). Just because Toyotaro's doing his own thing (as usual) in the manga, that doesn't make any difference to Jiren's character in the anime.

What's with everyone bashing Quitela for how he went out? Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not the biggest fan of his in general, but viewing that scene as him being a sore loser really isn't accurate at all. Yeah, U2&6 went out with dignity, and I respect them for it, but if anything, I'd actually respect Quitela more in this instance. He and his entire Universe are being erased from existence for no reason other than the entertainment of two mentally stunted watermelon heads. Why would "accepting your fate" be the "noble" thing to do when you and your entire Universe are being executed and erased for not doing anything wrong? I'm all for the Zenos being innocent (incredibly stupid, but innocent) and just being manipulated by the Grand Priest, but still, he's murdered and erased billions upon billions of innocent people in the last 45 minutes (in series). If someone shows him he's wrong and he changes like Fat Buu did, then I'm all for forgiving and forgetting (after they wish everyone back), but until then, I almost Quitela'd had the chance to at least try to Hakai one of 'em.

Eh, "couldn't bother to even be aware of" isn't necessarily accurate. Everyone's acting like Goku not being there for Gohan's birth somehow has something to do with his love for Gohan, completely ignoring the fact that he probably didn't know about it in the first place. You can't choose to "not be bothered" to show up for something you had no idea was happening in the first place.

He probably left on a training trip and had no idea Chichi was even pregnant, let alone about to give birth. That has no impact on his feelings for Gohan whatsoever. It just means he didn't just hang around at home with a girl he barely knew and only married because he thought he was obligated to due to an accidental promise when they were kids, and instead chose to do what would be completely in character, which would be going out and training like he'd spent the majority of his time doing up to that point.

Tldr: Goku being gone and not knowing about Gohan being born has nothing whatsoever to do with how he felt about him after the fact.

Remember That Time... (Part 1)

Remember the time Goku got so pissed at Raditz for so much as talking about touching his son that he threatened outright to kill him if he took another step? Screamed it, in fact?

Remember how, upon failing to protect his son, Goku actually began to scream his name, shake and tremble with rage and fear, and was nearly on the verge of tears? And how he was actually ready to rush right off and nearly get himself killed to get him back?

And remember how that little boy’s safety was actually paramount to the point Goku even refused to give Piccolo the fight he wanted until he knew Gohan was safe?

Sure seems to care a lot for a kid whose birth he supposedly couldn’t be bothered to even be aware of.

Ugh, all the people trying to find excuses around Goku not being there for Gohan and Goten's births are ridiculous. He was dead for Goten's birth, so that one was already obvious. As for Gohan, it's not like this is some retcon. It was never stated he was there for it, and now we know he wasn't. It's not a big deal. He was probably off on some training trip and had no idea Chichi was even pregnant, which is completely in character for him. Everyone's acting like this some retcon because he slacked off to become a family man after the 23rd Tournament. Since when? When is that stated? Not only would that be out of character, we know it's not the case since he was still stronger than Piccolo by a similar gap as 5 years prior, and Piccolo obviously kept training. You're all conveniently forgetting one important fact. Goku is not in love with Chichi. He married her because of an accidental promise he made the one time they met when they were 11 years old. He agreed to marry her because he thought it was his obligation for making the promise. His literal words were "Ah well, screw that... I promised!!". Which, speaking of, who would seriously think a promise from someone you met once as an 11 year old who outright said he didn't know what you were talking about would matter one bit 7 years later as adults when you track him down? He even showed afterwards that he clearly wasn't fond of her getting in his personal space. And aside from that there's of course Toriyama himself, who outright said Goku wasn't in love with her, and just viewed her as one of his companions. He also literally said the only reason he had Goku marry her was because he (Toriyama) disliked her and didn't want her around anymore, so he had her marry Goku as a punishment to himself. Goku's a hero. He's a great person, and I have no doubt he loves his friends, and has specifically shown above average care for his kids (specifically Gohan). But he doesn't romantically love Chichi. He had no reason to stay around with her instead of going off on training trips like he was used to.

I’ve noticed some people still bashing the the Omni Kings for the Tournament and destroying the Universes, as if they’re bad guys and this is all part of their evil plan. They seems to completely ignore the fact that the Grand Priest is clearly manipulating them. He says that they evaluated all the Universes and ranked them down to the decimal points on their worthiness level, yet they can’t even count into double digits. He says they make the rules, yet they don’t even know what’s supposed to happen at the end of the Tournament. They literally had to ask him what’s going to happen, and then even say “oh” after he tells them. They have no idea what they’re really doing. He’s using them. Goku also seems to understand that, considering his reaction to Universe 9 being destroyed was to give a death stare to the Grand Priest, who in turn smiles down at him, and then even turns and gives him a mocking look like “yeah, what are you gonna do about it?”.

Are people really that stupid? Do you really not understand what a Mary Sue actually is? A Mary Sue would be if Caulifla went Ultra Instinct and won the Tournament with everyone adoring her. How is her being only SSJ2 level a freakin Mary Sue? There’s still 3, God, and Blue, not to mention Kaioken and Ultra Instinct, and she’s already been eliminated from the Tournament. That. Is. Not. A. Mary. Sue. Are Goten, Trunks, Gohan, and Future Trunks Mary Stu’s? Because they all got SSJ easier than Caulifla did. Gohan got SSJ2 easier than Caulifla (he was an 11 year child for goodness’ sake). And don’t get me started on Future Trunks. Not only did he get SSJ2, but then in about a day he he powered his SSJ2 up to SSB level, and then got his own personal new form that still hasn’t been explained. And then of course there's his spontaneous Spirit Bomb Sword out of nowhere. Is he a Mary Stu? No? Then Caulifla sure as hell isn’t.

SSJ used to mean so much more am I right? Look how hard those children worked for it. Especially the 7 year old that had no training, couldn't fly yet, and couldn't even remember since when he could use it. So touching. Those kids deserved it way more than the strongest, most talented Saiyan in the entire 6th Universe. And just look at that badass Vegeta getting SSJ from his self hatred of being weak. Way better than that Mary Sue Kale, who, you know, got SSJ from her self hatred of being weak...

Caulifla and Kale don’t deserve their SSJ forms and are Mary Sues? Why? -Because they don’t have any training? Says who? Cabba, the ace of the U6 Saiyan elites, was asked to find the strongest Saiyan he knew, and went to his old boss, just for him to say he wasn’t good enough, and that he should take his stronger, more talented sister instead. A sister who, by the way, is the strongest Saiyan in U6, seems practically as obsessed with fighting and training as Goku himself, and who literally has an apprentice (which happens to be Kale) that she trains with. How in the world does that equal not having training? -Because they got them too fast, easy, and not in an intense enough way? Right, because there was a single intense first SSJ transformation in DBZ after Goku’s. It’s not like Vegeta (off screen) got it the exact same way Kale did. Or that Future Trunks already had it by unknown means at age 14. Or that Gohan, at age 10, got it from pretending, literally pretending, that Goku or Piccolo were dead. Or that Goten and Trunks, 7 and 8 year olds, already had it, with Goten, a 7 year old who didn’t even know how to fly, not even remembering since when he could do it. I mean, literal children getting it with little to no effort is totally fine, but the strongest, most talented Saiyans, who aren’t children, from U6, where their race wasn’t held back by Frieza, get it in no more of an easy way then those literal children and they’re Mary Sues with crappy writing? What? You people are pathetic.
