Discovered everyone in my house (me , gf, housemate and fren staying temporarily due to university housing issues ) intro to Star Trek was the 2009 reboot film, to different extents .

Found this out when we all sat down to watch TOS from the beginning .

Id seen al of tos , all reboot films , most of TNG and some VOY, DS9 and enterprise .

Gf had seen some of the reboot films

Housemate had seen reboot films and then like ten episode of TOS

Friend had seen reboot films and then over 12 years later watched voyager and got hooked

Imagine the most cringy bad Star Trek you ever saw.

That was probably someone, somewhere's introduction to the franchise. Oof.

my favorite minor fact in the tolkien universe is that there's a mountain range named for how loud the greatest enemy of the valar screamed his fucking lungs out while running away as fast as he physically can from the giant eldritch void spider who he tried to pspspsps out of her cave and into his faction

"Is Tetris an indie game" is complicated further considering the creator made it while working at the Soviet Academy of Science, on company time. So it was legally owned by the Soviet Union for some time (not indie?), and it wasn't until the Tetris Company was founded that they managed to get ownership back and Alexey could get royalties (became indie?)
