Two or three days ago I watched Legend of the Guardians: The owls of Ga'hool (is a 2010's movie, of course the name is long as fuck, in spanish we know it just like Ga'hool: Legend of the Guardians, that's why I called it like that)

And I noticed

Usurna and Movie!Nyra are so much alike- and let me explain

So, we have Usurna from Trollhunters, she's a queen, she thinks she's worthy of recognizement for the mere fact she's queen but not just that, she believes she's strong and determined and the perfect queen but also a protector and the only one who can lead the krubera

Then we have Nyra, which I'll not deny, I didn't noticed until this week how actually crazy Nyra is, she's a supremacist leader that thinks is the perfect queen and is determined, and thinks is worthy of recognizement just because she's a pure tyto and not just that but a protector and leader to the pure ones

And yes, I'll never forgive Usurna, she literally sell children to Gunmar, who is like the Devil himself reincarnated

And then we have Nyra who literally commanded on kidnapping children to make them work from early age or become soldiers to die on battle for a facist cause

I mean, I saw Legend of the guardians for like 100th time and it wasn't until now that I noticed Nyra and Usurna are almost the same person (talking personality and trait-wise)

And I don't know if I like that or if I hate that because compared to Nyra, Usurna got screen-time to get developing (a little bit but is more than Nyra) and not just that

I hate those two

They're great villains and characters but I also hate them so much and that made me recognize something

Why only two? And why I never realized that? (What I mean is that we don't have enough villain and evil women to hate on media)

And that's all, I just wanted to share my thoughts

Also, they scare the shit out of me, the difference is that I was very young when I saw Nyra for the first time (a literal child, maybe 7 or 9 yo) so it was both fascination and fear because first is so beautiful and normal and then BOOM she tries to kill children and manipulates (maybe even grooms) Kludd and makes Eglantine a moon-zombie and her eyes glows creepy

When I saw Usurna for the first time (first season) I wasn't that young, one year later when I saw she was a villain it was full hate because I was very very in love (platonically, as a grandpa) with Vendel, so, my first reaction was to hate her because she killed my literal third fave character and literally gave my first fave character to the devil himself when he was a child (I simp for AARRRGH!!! since childhood, don't judge me)

I always had my reasons for disliking her (both, actually) and please don't tell me "is a villain, is her job" I FUCKING NOW! I'M NOT SAYING SHE SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT BECAUSE IS HER PURPOSE AS CHARACTER BUT I THINK I STILL HAVE ALL THE RIGHT TO HATE SOMEONE FOR DOING SHITTY THINGS EVEN IF IT'S A FICTIONAL CHARACTER

what do you think of kludd joining the pure ones all because he wasn’t appreciated at home?

He was spoken to and heard what he wanted to hear. He was called to what he believed to be a higher purpose, and he was, quite frankly, also horny for the beautiful queen of the Pure Ones, despite her being mated. Clearly, he was also arrogant beforehand and the thought of being above someone seems to bring forth an evil in him that he was either born with or came from resentment and jelousy.

Quite frankly, I find it tragic, but tragedy is also kind of what I live for when it comes to fantasy. Soooo...yeah!

Of course he let it, for him she's not just a commander or a partner, she's also the literal queen of the place

In the movie do you think Nyra and MetalBeak genuinely loved each other? (Hadn't read the books)

Yes. I'm quite convinced that they do. The interactions they have with each other clearly show a hierachy between them, which makes sense as Metal Beak is the leader, but despite this, Nyra is still given an enourmous amount of power, she can speak rather freely even in his presence and, what came to my attention the most, towards the end of the movie, she sat on the highest throne alongside her husband, directly at his side. Not to the side, not next to the throne or the lower area, but directly beside him, and if he wouldn't love her, I believe that he would not have allowed this.

What do you do if depression hits you like a brick? Make an owl monster with missing wings - they were ripped off, for context - and no background. I have a use for it, as the guard of a catacombs in my au, but I have yet to make up a name for it lol

This was a "make me feel better" drawing. It did not quite work, but now I need to come up with a nice scene. Enjoy the creature until then.

I like studying an engineer career mostly dominated by men because it's genuilly interesting and funny (interesting always, funny sometimes)

Then I remember men have stickers that basically say "fuck you" to each other and have no fear of putting them in the class chat (the one the teacher is included and is admin)

Struggling with some real addiction rn...

I have probably never been this addicted to doing something. All I'm feeling like doing in my free time (which I have a fuckton load of) is to play Monster Hunter.

When I'm not playing it, I'm either sleeping or doing the other absolute mandatory things. I haven't really drawn, written, or focused on my own projects.

The summer heatwave which made me pretty unmotivated to do anything, and the excitement of the new games I bought then, really weren't the best combination... 😬

disclaimer: I don't know how well these will work, but I'm trying my best

ik it can be stressful to talk about for a lot of us, and Im pretty sure its not going to stay like this (especially since a lot of YouTube creators are gonna BE MAD and a bunch of people are being vocal about it)

watch "kids" content without an account. (This means gaming videos, animated videos, doll content, CHILDRENS CARTOONS, crafting videos, and MANY OTHER TOPICS) if you log out of YouTube you can watch stuff as a guest. if you really wanna go all out you can even (either download/use the website) use duckduckgo (untracked by Google)!

Try watching videos (even just skipping through them or playing them in background muted or whatever) that are "not aimed at children". I think things like videos that contain swearing (that could include music with curse words in the lyrics), politics, educational videos (like documentaries), legal case videos, or literary analysis on books like "War and Peace" or something.

Literally anything along those lines. Some topics that aren't aimed at kids could be things like: Mathematics, biomedical science, archaeology, detailed and un-animated history videos, and etc. I'd personally play "miniminuteman" who makes long form videos on archaeology or educational videos from PBS.

Action to take if you can:

I also signed the petition at change.org and plan on limiting what kinds of videos I watch. Alot of people are trying to partake in boycotting, as someone who heavily relies on YouTube to self regulate my overstimulation and anxiety that's difficult for me. So I've decided that in order to make less views/activity I'm only going to watch LONG videos that have to be over 5 minutes. This includes compilations of short form content, long format videos, and music playlists in one video. (I am NOT getting Spotify) Ill be watching my octonauts on the internet archive, and you can find it organized in the pinned post of the octonauts community.
