I think part of the reason why I love so much writing/reading enemies-to-family fics is because there's something deeply comforting about a powerful villain/antagonist -who used to hurt you- changing his mind and using his powers to protect you.

Nonono like imagine-

The villain who used to hate the heroes, starting to care about them.

The villain who attacked the heroes, protecting them.

The villain who emotionally hurt the heroes, healing their wounds.

Not because they have to. But because they want to. Because they realize they were wrong. Because they feel guilty for hurting them. Because when they look at the hero, they don't see a fighter or an unbreakable person. They see a teenager, someone with wounds, someone who tried to act strong because they were not able to be weak or "too emotional". Not when the destiny of the world is in their shoulders.

I love the change from "I hate you and I want to see you defeated" to "I care about you and I would never let anyone hurt you", because it shows that they do have a good side. It shows that it's never too late to change.

And sure, it's also comforting the redeemed villain is willing to hurt another villain because they hurt the heroes. But when the villains are kind to other villains, not because they want to forgive them or treat them nicely, but because the hero asked them to (or because they know the hero doesn't want them to be cruel again), it's even more powerful.

As well as it's comforting to know that your worst enemy... can become your best ally. That they can become your great source of comfort and safety instead of your source of pain.

Try not to think about Malik "Mali" Ali giving Superman a hand while all the other bystanders focused on filming him with their phones.

Try not to think about Mali, despite clearly and understandably being horrified at the moment of the revelation, standing up for Superman even after most of the world turned their back... and even with a literal gun to his head.

Try not to think about Mali giving reassurance that he has nobody who'll miss him... and Superman showing that not only at least one person will miss him; that one person will ensure that the whole world knows about a humble falafel vendor who always did the right thing.

I never cared for it and my mom never mentioned it until one day my dad told me to have care because there were some tv shows who showed gay people like if I shouldn't watch that (I was watching Atlantis in Disney Channel and I was like 10 or 12) and when I commented my mom (I think it happened that way, can't remember much) she just said people is people and to not pay attention to my dad's comment

Never talked about it again except the time she mentioned I could trust in her no matter the topic if something happened in school, including romance

Headcanons for Jaloom (Jack Frost x Bloom) because why not:

Bi4bi pairing [I'm pretty sure Jack Frost doesn't care about the gender of their partner and Bloom really had something going on with the other girls of Winx Club]

Bloom likes to read fics in AO3 while Jack Frost prefers to rant about his favorite shows on Tumblr.

Bloom's favorite book is Nimona and Jack Frost' favorite book is Percy Jackson.

Bloom and Jack's favorite movie is How To Train Your Dragon and their favorite show is Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Bloom and Jack met one snowy day. Kiko went out of the house and Bloom had to search for him, until she found him in Jack's arms.

During snowy days, Jack and Bloom always cuddle in the couch.

Since they met each other, Bloom's favorite season is Winter, and Jack's favorite season is Summer.

Both of them love each other's friends. Bloom and Toothiana are almost BFF (almost because Bloom's best friend is Stella) and Flora is Jack's confident.

They love to watch new shows together sitting in the couch.

Jack was afraid of losing Bloom in the future, but when she tells him that fairies live forever, Jack is relieved. He wouldn't have to lose another person he cared about [yeah, fairies are immortal in this AU because I said so].

Both help each other to defeat one of their enemies. Jack connects with Icy because both have ice powers, redeeming her, and when Pitch comes back, Bloom helps Jack to understand Pitch and make him an ally.

When their powers come together, they create red ice or blue fire.

When Bloom gets the chance to make a wish with the Sirenix power, she asks for Jack's family (and Daphne) to come back.
