I’m a bit rusty with fanart and I feel like I didn’t quite get Steve right in my last post. He’s kinda hard to draw for me. So of course I had to draw him some more to right that wrong.

This is still inspired by @harringroveheart ‘s wonderful fic, maybe there is a beast. I’m absolutely fascinated by her version of Steve. It’s one of the first harringrove fanfics I’ve read and now I’m worried that I’ve spoiled myself with something too good and no other will compare hahah

I love the idea that Eddie (notorious freak, not asked out on many dates) knows where Skull rock is and goes there in his hour of need because Steve ("it wasn't popular until I made it popular") showed him where it was. I love Fics where they knew each other before the event of the show and this is practically cemented in my mind as a head cannon.

They both just know how to get there because of the memory of countless after school make out sessions, where the rock would graze their backs after t shirts had been pushed up by wandering hands, and they would both walk home opposite ways out of the woods, Eddie towards the trailer park and Steve to his empty house

Steve absolutely refusing to wear his hearing aids, even Robin and Dustin have not managed to bully/guilt him into it so Eddie decides to try his hand

He demands in his dm voice for Steve to sit down, it should be loud enough and clear enough for Steve to hear but he pairs it with a asl down, Steve does listen but argues he's not a fucking dog up until Eddie straddles his lap and leans in getting super close to his ear brushing his hair out of the way before placing his hearing aid

Whether it's just the one or he repeats the process on the other side doesn't matter Eddie just pops out of his lap and taps his head with a simple good boy

It’s so funny when you think about Steve figuring out he’s bi and taking flirting with men like a fish to water.

Like Robin is lowkey stoked at first cuz she thinks she can finally call out Steve as a hypocrite cuz he’s always hounding on her being so awkward with girls—expecting him to fumble and be self conscious and scared like her. But nope.

She watches with a hanging jaw as Steve just goes up to a guy to flirt.

“Steve! What if he’s homophobic!? And picks a fight!?”

“Uh, I can fight.”

“But you CAN’T tho.”

And it turns into a day long argument on whether Steve can fight or not.

“Robin, I’ve fought literal monsters. And won.”

“Yeah, but none of them started swinging now did they Steve? I’ve watched you crumple on the first swing; you can’t take a punch!”

“Then, I’ll just avoid getting punched?” [does little dodging maneuvers like he’s ever boxed a day in his life]

Robin smacks him right in the face.

“Ow, Robin wtf?”

“I was proving a point. You ain’t dodging shit.”

Robin concludes Steve has no issue with flirting with men cuz he has very low risk assessment skills.

After school Wayne and Eddie would hang out at the trailer park tables. Little Eddie doing his homework, while Wayne has his coffee before he heads off to work.For Wayne, this is his favorite and most precious part of the day. That hat collection in the trailer is 100% Wayne’s, and the mugs too. Some are merch from places or events he visited, and the rest of them are from Eddie who gives him a new mug every Father’s Day.
