"I am controlling it. Right now. That car is how I wanted it to be. Don't you dare talk to me about controlling myself." It hit a sore point for Annemarie, having people talk about her control. "It is none of your business. No one's but mine."
The gun levitated before her and crumpled. "If you're going to try and kill me, go on."
You can control it, you’re either just choosing not to or are too lazy to try, thus making you much worse than me. — And while you haven’t killed anyone yet, it’s only a matter of time, unless you learn to control yourself.

You want to know the difference? I was born like this. And I haven't killed anyone.
Says the dark witch.

I found my father. Or at least, I know who he was.
There we go.
You care to explain such recklessness?

I wouldn't be so sure you can.
Are you a hunter?
Well…I should.
If you think that’s the only weapon I have, you’re sorely mistaken.

All Alone || Self Para
It took weeks, but finally Annemarie found it. A lead on her father.
Getting used to her new foster family hadn't been easy. The parents were... well, experienced in looking after foster kids. They weren't so experienced in looking after a witch. Especially one who was acting moody. The unexplained breaking or disappearance of valuables from around the house caught attention.
From the young witch's point of view, she needed to get out. She couldn't stand going backwards like this. Since Edward was gone, and she didn't want to ask any of the other witches (maybe she would've asked Charlie, but he was nowhere to be found), she had a new plan. She was determined this time to find her parents.
The first thing she found was a name. Samuel Dillard. It appeared in the news a few times, linked to crimes. Robberies, murder. Unexplained deaths, which baffled the police. Annemarie understood though. He was using his dark magic. Where the paper trail stopped was the report of a murder of a different sort.
SAMUEL DILLARD, MURDERER, FOUND DEAD.
The article went on to explain where he'd been found and how he'd been killed. No culprit was ever found, but a chill went down Anne's back as echoes of the warnings she'd been given came to her. Hunters...
