Taidana looked over at Rubel, seemingly unaffected by the chaotic scene unraveling below where he stood. "Does it appear out of control to you, Rubel? I think it's all going according to plan." He pointed to how the Marines were moving and the direction the pirates were fleeing in. "The pirates are being directed without their knowledge. I ordered my officers to block off specific alleyways and roads but under the guise of hurried pursuit. This will make the pirates believe they are heading towards the docks.. Instead they will arrive just outside of where my ship is." Making their capture that much easier. So, if the plan went as expected, the criminals would be coming right to him as he stood upon the deck. "They will be taken alive and available for you to question if you want~. Isn't that great?"

Taidana couldn't help but laugh at the reaction he got out of Rubel. It was the expected result and still hilarious! He moved to sit on the ships railing behind him, smiling at the man before him. "I was only joking, Rubel~. But just fishing eh? Seems you stumbled across the truth without realizing it!" The truth that not all pirates were out for blood and plunder. Though this did present a unique opportunity for the information broker. Perhaps he didn't quite realize it yet.

"Do you realize what this encounter means? You have a way to converse with the Straw Hat crew~. A chance to offer your unique services to the biggest name in papers. All it takes is one member to know you and you're in." Taidana grinned at Rubel before getting back on his feet. There was no way he could casually approach the pirates himself, not without drawing attention to himself. Sometimes there were quite a number of eyes on him despite his best attempts to be under the radar. "Why not see for yourself what the truth is beneath what the common masses are fed about pirates day in and out, Rubel? At least about this particular group.."

rubel simply stared at the photo, green eyes slowly flickering across the figure of the woman. there was no way. out of all things, he'd met the charybdis - a wanted ship-breaker - who had been out doing nothing more than fishing.

and on top of that, she was a straw hat now? the blonde balked a little, quickly passing the photograph back to taidana.

" there was no romance or love involved at all! " he hissed defensively, too distracted to see the other's obvious ploy to get under his skin. " she was just.... fishing, and she told me how to avoid the neptunians in that area. "

to which, it has still surprised him that someone who seemed that kind was such a ruthless person - but the navy told more lies than any good man would, he couldn't trust information like that.

Weather patterns could be most unusual out on the open sea. Which was why Nix was glad at the sudden deluge of rain! Instead on waiting it out inside, she was out on the deck instead. "Finally! Some rain!"

Ah so this is what happens when one forgets their Navy coat and wanders off without their crew! How exciting to have a new experience around a pirate without them running in fear or starting a fight immediately. This is definitely a story he would tell Rubel later. No doubt he would either find it hilarious or ask how Taidana was still alive after all this time! And what timing to be caught with his eyepatch still on too. Oh perhaps that was what made him look like a pirate! The blond couldn't help but lightly laugh to himself and smile, even as the other snipped at him.

"You are a member of the Kid Pirates yes? Just the sort of attitude I would expect! Certainly not sunshine and daisies~. I'll leave that to Big Mom's Totto Land." That place certainly did, from an outside perspective, fit the bill for a rainbows and pansies theme. "And I assure you, it's quite difficult to hurt my feelings. So! Am I allowed to pass through or has your crew decided to set up shop here for the time being?" Taidana wasn't doing himself any favors if he wasn't trying to draw attention to himself. If anything, he was looking out of place by remaining his usual calm self in the presence of a dangerous crew.

Sighing she crossed her arms against her chest, a raise of their brow as they looked at the other, "I have no idea what you were expecting when you came across this crew, but it sure as shit wasn't going to be sunshine and daisies, so don't be getting your feelings hurt."

Seeing the features on Belial, Nix seemed to freeze in place as she took a moment to make sure this wasn't some odd dream. Before her eyes was someone similar to herself in a way, even if she clarified that hers was from a devil fruit. Such features hadn't been seen since her father died before her eyes. During all the years she was dragged around the oceans, never before did she see another like her. Regardless, it was oddly refreshing to meet someone like her! "I was born like this, yes.. We are alike, despite how I assume you got yours."

The silverette turned to hold a hand out to Belial, offering a proper handshake. "I'm Nix. Who might you be? You have no idea how.. nice it is to meet someone like me. I was starting to think I was the only one, you know?"
