So apparently, they arrested Maria Ressa for ‘cyber libel’. If you don’t know, Maria Ressa is CEO of Rappler, a news site that’s famous for its investigative journalism and criticism towards the Duterte administration. Said administration has a history of being aggressive towards the site from branding it as a ‘fake news site’ to revoking the site’s license.

This is another attempt to silence media critics and drag the Philippines further down the road of authoritarianism. The administration already has a history of arresting its critics and barring human rights advocates. The country already has an uneasy history with press freedom; but this is bringing it back to the seventies again.

so um, I know this is kind of sudden but I think I’m going to take a hiatus and close this blog? I’ve been busy a lot lately with personal projects, and while I don’t usually let this get to me I kind of want to take a break to reassess things as well as some kinda personal feelings. I love this boy a lot and do intend to return in the future, but it’ll probably be in a new blog since I want to start fresh and start clean.

I’ll be doing this for my other blogs too, tho maybe I won’t move Amihan or Tolys since their blogs are relatively okay, though I’ll probably remake Liba as well. as for my other blogs… I guess they’ll be closed until I feel like picking them up again maybe??
