My dad was on the fire department for a long time and told me a story once about how he got called to an old woman’s house to do a wellness check. She was laying on her recliner non-responsive but her heart was still going faintly. When they went to resuscitate cockroaches started crawling out of her mouth; they had apparently started nesting since she was warm but not able to move. I think about this story a lot.
