obsessed with the idea of rick prime’s morty being morticia (probably scooped her up from the citadel or something) and he’s still a raging asshole but super soft with her. she’s got no clue what any of his spacey-junk equipment does and, as the council once said, she’s just there because she’s fun. and she’s constantly touching his shit and asking what things are and he hits her with a: “not now beth, daddy’s working” and she looks at him blankly because she is not beth but she knows better than to break whatever trance he’s in

Oh Jesus Christ I’m FREE I’m finally free from the shackles of Wander Over Yonder or rather the fanbase AUGHH!! I finally feel like my aggressive fixation on it is finally in the past behind me, it was so fun but generally worse near the end.

And now I can just grab Wander & Dominator and run away to my own little world and continue to draw them smooching or whatever, also Rick and Morty is here too because I’m into that show now apparently wuhh

The song "Inside Your Mind" shows Wander doesn't wanna feel negative emotions:

His ideal world is all happy and crazy. This is understandable when you remember how scared he is of the helpless aspect of himself:

Wander's 100% been traumatized in many ways throughout his lifespan, so it makes sense that he wants to avoid pain as much as possible (Wan doesn't shy away from feeling other emotions, but ideally, he wouldn't have to be anything other than happy & free to do whatever he wants)

This is a weird detail, but in "The Void," the only one present in his imaginary world was Wander himself. Not some of his many friends, or his family that we know nothing about, but I headcanon they were wiped out, which was the first time Wander felt helpless. The fact there was nobody else in Wander's mind (except Syl, who he tried to manipulate into doing whatever HE wanted) means he doesn't have anybody he's close with other than her. Just like Hater doesn't have anybody except Peepers, Wander doesn't have anybody except Sylvia. He even says how he has Sylvia and Hater has Peepers and the Watchdogs in "The End Of The Galaxy"

There are actually many similarities between Wander & Hater. Both love attention (and hate being ignored). They are both loud, fun-loving, impulsive and love music. Both are hopeless romantics, party animals, and larger than life. Both have a best friend who keeps them in check. Both are heart-driven, but also more intelligent and capable than people give them credit for. Both keep secrets about their pasts from Peepers & Sylvia. Both feel worthless and insecure, and can be selfish (Hater is obviously a LOT more selfish, but Wander has that quality too). Both even know the Watchdogs' names (Hater only when he isn't distracted)

What's sweet about their dynamic is how Wander constantly gives Hater the help, friendship, and support that he himself lacked for most of his life. He sees himself in Hater, and maybe even feels that, under different circumstances, he could have turned out like him

An exercise in character design, as well as my own little theory as to what Wander is:

I always thought it'd be funny/beautifully tragic if sweet hippie Wander was the last of a (cartoonishly) blood-thirsty war mongering species: everyday is all about survival and the honor of battle and epic fight domes against a desert landscape... But they're all still fluffy and adorable. Basically, his homeworld is very Klingon-meets-Mad-Max, but everyone looks like a Tribble. When they ran out of planets to bully, they eventually turned on each other, naturally wiping themselves out... With one little exception, of course:
