Brokenhearted Bot
(Takes place during/after Rad Likes Robots)
Shannon watched her loved one from a distance, concern in her eyes. But she dared not approach, for her brothers might see her.
Enid did, however, rushing to her friend's side. "Rad, are you okay? Aw, Rad, I didn’t realize how much you… I’m sorry."
The alien shook his head, his eyes hardening. "You’re wrong. I didn’t love her. She’s just one of Boxman’s crummy robo-minions. You can’t love a cold, heartless piece of metal." He crushed the piece of Shannon’s arm in his hands.
Shannon covered her mouth, and gasped, eyes widening.
Enid frowned, putting a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Rad, it’s okay. You don’t have to—"
"Isn’t this just what you wanted, Enid? Good and evil never works out," he spat, before walking out, only stopping to throw Shannon’s arm. "Stinkin’ hunk of junk!"
The arm landed beside Shannon, who was hiding behind the Boxmore sign next to a trash can full of decoy Shannon parts, crying. "Aah!" she cried out, touching her chest, as her love energy died out, the pink light of love depowering to grey heartbreak. With a sigh, she pressed her chest, revealing the reboot button. Without hesitation, she pressed it.
She closed her eyes, waiting to explode into pieces. But it simply didn't happen. She pressed the button again. "What...?" she whispered, staring down at it. It was a malfunction, for certain. A circuit was fried, or a wired was disconnected. But whatever the case, she was still alive. Heartbroken, but alive. She sighed.
She couldn't go back to Boxmore like this, she knew... And Rad simply wouldn't accept her. But leaving this place didn't seem alright, either.
Her attention was diverted when she noticed the swirling cloud above Lakewood Plaza Turbo. A Boxmore box fell down from above, and opened on impact, revealing Darrell, Raymond... And Shannon?
The Shannon in hiding gasped. The reboot button must have worked... But it hadn't killed the previous bot.
The evil Shannon grinned and loudly boasted that she hated Rad again and was gonna fight him.
But the alien shook his head. He would not fight her.
"I can't watch this," muttered the heartbroken bot, flipping the trash can upside down and hiding inside, scurrying behind the Plaza. She stopped, and when she couldn't hear anything, she removed the bin. She sighed, and looked around... Alone. Just like she wanted.
"Are you lost?"
"AHH!" She shouted, jumping up. Beside her was a grey toned man, with inquistive eyes. No, he wasn't a man... He was a robot, just like her. What was another robot doing here?
"Are you lost?" he repeated, in the same kind tone.
She shook her head slowly, before nodding. She was lost. She didn't understand how to process these new emotions. Phsyically, she knew exactly where she was. Emotionally, she was on an endless rollercoaster.
"You can stay in my barbershop until the fighting stops. I do not mind." With that, he turned around, and opened the door to the back of his shop. She hesitated for a moment, but then stepped inside.

I'm back!
Where was I? Physically, Washington DC. Emotionally? Everywhere.
I just got into OK K.O., and I love this show so much! If you haven't seen it, I really recommend you do. It just finished its first season on Friday. While the fanbase is rather small, the show is adorable. It's on Cartoon Network, and made by the same people who do Steven Universe!
I made a gif from one of the episodes. Here's Professor Venomous looking startled!

Akumas of the Heart
Ladybug leapt into her bedroom, before detransforming. "Phew, that was a close one, huh, Tikki?"
The kwami was silent, her pinpricks of eyes staring off into space.
"Tikki?" asked Marinette again, staring at the little creature, brow knotted with worry.
"Huh? Oh, yes, Marinette! It was very close, but you handled it very well!" She chirped, with a smile.
The bluenette narrowed her eyes, raising an eyebrow. "I don't know, I think something's up. You've been acting weird recently..."
Tikki's eyes widened. "Oh, I'm that obvious, huh?" she asked with a chuckle.
"You're my kwami. I need to know what's going on with you... If something happened to you..." the girl trailed off, biting her lip.
"oh, no, Marinette! I'm perfectly fine. It's just... Nooroo has been contacting me," she explained, her cheeks seeming to get even more red, if that was possible.
"Nooroo? Who's that?"
Tikki chuckled. "Nooroo is Hawk Moth's kwami."
"Hawk Moth's kwami?" gasped Marinette. "But... How is that even possible?"
The little red kwami smiled. "Nooroo's been giving the akumas messages, and only now have I been noticing them. It's almost like a journal... And I can send messages back! When you purify an akuma, and it turns back into a butterfly, I can change the message the butterfly has. So when they return to Nooroo, he can get my messages!" she exclaimed, joy on her little face.
"Wow, Tikki... So we can find out who Hawk Moth is?" asked Marinette, jumping with joy.
"Not... Exactly. There's a certain set of rules in place, called the "kwami code". I can't tell you anything about the identities of other miraculous holders," she explained, with a sigh.
Marinette deflated. "Oh... So what good are the messages, then?"
Tikki froze, turning even redder. "W-well... Nooroo and I, uh, are close..."
The girl's eyes widened, before she smirked. "Oh... I see what's going on here. You like Nooroo, huh?"
The kwami nodded her head. "Yeah... I've been telling him about you. He thinks you're amazing, Marinette. He's jealous, actually," she teased, with a smile.
"You really like him, huh?" asked the girl, before she chuckled.
Tikki nodded, rubbing the back of her tiny neck. "I guess it is really obvious... Heh..."
"So, what does he look like? What does he eat to recharge? Do you know? Maybe we could put together a care package for him... I doubt Hawk Moth is treating him very well, right?"
The kwami shook her head. "No, all he needs right now is companionship. According to him, his chosen treats him just fine, just misuses his power."
"Still, maybe there's something I can do to help him..." Marinette muttered, before looking out the window, at a white butterfly slowly passing by. Her eyes widened. "That's it!"
"what's it?" asked Tikki, cocking her head.
"You told me that you can send messages back to Nooroo, right, through the butterflies? Maybe you can get him to come here for a little while and we can help take care of him!" Marinette suggested.
Tikki grinned. "That sounds great, Marinette! But according to him, his chosen rarely ever leaves him alone. We'd have to be very careful..."
The girl nodded, smiling. "Yeah..."
Marinette and Tikki talked late into the night about their plan, until eventually the girl had to lay down and get some sleep. Tikki laid comfortably beside her.
"Goodnight, Nooroo..." the kwami whispered.
"...Goodnight, Tikki," answered a soft, unheard voice, very far away.

A Fashion Disaster
(AU where kwamis are squips. If you haven't seen Be More Chill, your squip is an AI that is in your brain that only you can see.)
"Adrien! What is he doing here?" asked Marinette, stopping suddenly, staring at her crush. She hadn't known that he'd be at fashion week too, but she should have expected it!
"Calm down, Marinette. Deep breaths," said Tikki, in a dry voice.
The girl took a deep breath, before letting it out in a sigh. "Alright... What do I do?"
"Stay here. Let him come to you. Act cool, and take pride in your work. But don't boast," Tikki instructed.
Marinette steadied herself, glancing at her companion, before taking a look at her project. Just act cool...
Adrien gasped, upon seeing her. "It's Marinette, from class!"
Plagg rolled his eyes. "Of course it is. Who else in Paris has that hair?" Upon thinking of one, he shook his head. "Just go talk to her. Ask her why she's here, but casually."
He nodded. "Got it." He went to her, waving gently, a soft smile on his face. "Hey, Marinette, whatcha doing here?"
She chuckled. "Oh, me? Just presenting my project." She gestured to the intricate but modern, deep red dress on the mannequin. "I've been working on it for the last week... I made it all myself," she proclaimed proudly.
Plagg glanced at it. "Compliment it, then her."
"What?" whispered Adrien.
The squip shook his head. "You wanna make Ladybug jealous, this is the way you do it - by hitting on other chicks."
Adrien swallowed, and would have protested if the girl weren't looking at him inquistively. "It's beautiful, Marinette... But not nearly as beautiful as you," he said, placing a hand on her cheek.
The bluenette's face flushed red, and she froze, eyes pinpricks.
Adrien gasped, before taking his hand back and scratching the back of his neck.
Plagg burst out in uncontrollable laughter. "Wow, way to lay it on thick, kid!"
The boy was as red as a tomato. "Sorry," he whispered, to both the squip and the girl.
Marinette seemed to recover. "Oh, no, it's okay... I mean, kinda, I mean-"
Tikki sighed. "Stop talking, Marinette. Change the subject."
Marinette looked back Adrien for a subject to change to when she spotted him. Gabriel Agreste, her idol. "Wow... Your father's here?"
Adrien chuckled, glancing at the man. "Yeah, he basically runs the thing. Do you want me to ask him to come over and check out your project?"
Plagg fist pumped. "Nice save, kid."
"Oh, uh..." Marinette glanced at her dress, biting her lip.
Tikki simply shook her head.
The girl sighed. "Actually, no thank you. I think I want to get ahead in the industry without favors from friends."
Plagg gasped. "She just friendzoned you! Say something witty back!"
"Oh, alright." Adrien shrugged and began to walk away.
His squip groaned. "Seriously, kid? You let her get away with that nonsense? You need to drop the good guy act and do more!"
The blond boy rolled his eyes. "If I want Ladybug to notice me, I want her to notice me because I'm a good person, not because I'm flirting with girls from class."
Plagg growled, but dropped it. "Fine. But next time, you're listening to me."
Gabriel approached Marinette, his hands folded neatly behind his back. "What have we here?" he asked, glancing inquistively at her dress.
Marinette stared, freezing up for a moment before shaking herself out of it. "I worked on it all last week... Do you... Like it?"
"Yes, but subtly," said a soft voice behind Gabriel.
The man shot the briefest of glares behind him before focusing on Marinette. "I think it is one unique piece. Keep it up... Miss Marinette." A tiny smirk had found its way onto his face, before he continued walking.
The bluenette's jaw dropped. "He knows my name..." she whispered.
"Keep it cool, Marinette," Tikki reminded her. "Be more chill."
The week was passing along quite smoothly when screaming was heard. The source of the screaming was revealed to be a woman - with an intricate, ripped dress, the rips moving to her every whim, like extra arms. She had over a hundred of them, and a seamstress with scissors discovered that they only doubled when cut, and were no weaker.
Marinette dashed into a closet, and glanced at her companion. "Tikki... Spots on!"
Tikki smiled, and a black dot upon her forehead appeared with a glow, as the girl in front of her became Ladybug.
Ladybug's eyes opened and shined bright blue, a grin appearing on the girl's lips.

"You have to trust me!"
shouted Ladybug, staring at Adrien. The boy glanced towards her.
"Always," he promised, before jumping off the akuma, towards the ground far below.
Ladybug smiled, and jumped after him - only to be stopped immediately by the giant hand of Gorizilla. "No!" she shouted.
Adrien continued to fall, his golden hair floating as he stared up at Ladybug helplessly.
"Chat Noir! Help!" called Ladybug, still squirming fruitlessly. He was so close to the ground now...
A few seconds passed, before Ladybug was dropped with no warning. But there was no time to lose! She extended her yo-yo towards him, grunting, fighting to maintain balance midair.
Time seemed to slow as her yo-yo stretched towards the blond boy, staring up at her, before he slowly closed his eyes.
Hers widened, the cord wrapping around his torso, locking on. She grabbed a bar above her, stopping her descent as she pulled on the wire.
Thud. A horrible sound, a cracking as the boy's entire body hit the concrete, and popping back up. His form hung limp, and his eyes did not open.
"ADRIEN!" she screamed, as she dropped towards him. Using her yo-yo, she brought him towards her, letting him fly into her arms as she softly landed on the ground.
"Adrien," she whispered, gently touching his face. "You're okay, Adrien... You're okay..."
The boy did not move, not a single indication of life. His chest did not rise and fall, and his eyes still did not open... There might have been a crowd around Ladybug, but she could only focus on a single face.
She took a deep breath, tears running down her cheeks. Her face was tortured and red with tears. "Stay with me, stay with me... You stay with me." She stroked his hair, staring at his face, unable to look away. "Adrien? Adrien!"
"Please... Please... No, please..." She was openly sobbing, her breaths coming in gasps.
She took a deep breath, and glanced around her. The crowd... They were all staring at her, eyes wide and jaws slack. She didn't know what to say, if there was anything to say... Adrien was...
She stood, and the crowd took a step back. They were afraid. Why were they afraid? She couldn't understand.
The girl left, without a word. Didn't swing away, just slowly walked. No one followed, but an unseen, dark creature.
She swung into her bedroom and detransformed, before laying back on her bed, staring at the ceiling. Within seconds, she was sobbing again.
"Marinette~! Come downstairs for breakfast. We made your favorite~!" her mother called.
The girl stared at her poster of Adrien, silent tears in her eyes, slipping slowly down her face.
"Your friends are worried about you. Why don't you give Alya a call?"
Marinette lowered her eyes to the little black and red jewelry box sitting on her nightstand. She sighed, turning over again.
Sabine opened the hatch into the girl's room. "Marinette, come on, please..."
The bluenette was silent, not sparing her mom a glance.
The woman sighed. "You know, staying up here isn't healthy..." She made over to the window, and opened the blinds. She set a plate of hotcakes on Marinette's nightstand, taking the girl's largely uneaten dinner. She sighed, "it's never too late to start talking to her again!"
Marinette shook her head. She couldn't do that. Alya could never understand...
Sabine looked disappointed, but shrugged. "Alright. Just holler if you need anything."
The girl nodded. "Thanks, mom."
The hatch to her room closed, and the girl sighed, before immediately dashing over to the blinds and closing them, and going back to her bed.
Sabine approached her husband. "So? How's she doing?" he asked.
She shrugged. "She said two words to me. I suppose that's progress... Like the doctor said, everyone grieves differently. We just have to give it time..."
"But how much time? I miss my little girl," Tom said, with a sigh.
She shook her head. "I don't know. Eventually she will come out of her shell, right?"
He smiled. "Right." He embraced her.
Gabriel Agreste held in his hand the butterfly brooch. He stared at it without expression.
Nathalie walked into the room, and her eyes immediately laid on the miraculous. "So you're thinking about trying again?"
He gently nodded, his gaze unwavering.
She lowered her eyes. "But, sir, after Adri-"
He glanced at her, causing her to stop.
The assistant swallowed hard. "After what happened... Are you sure that you're willing to continue?"
"No," answered Gabriel, honestly. "Ever since Emilie left, I can't be sure of anything..."
Nathalie nodded. This she knew. "Then why even consider it?"
He shot her a glare. "You know why. I can fix things... if I just try hard enough."
The woman lowered her eyes. "And if you can't? If you end up hurting someone else?"
"...I don't know," he admitted, squeezing the miraculous. "I don't know."
"Then maybe it's best to wait until you are sure," she suggested, with a sigh.
He glanced at her. "If I do start again... How?"
"I think that's something you have to figure out on your own, Mr. Agreste. If you'll excuse me."
She swiftly left the room, leaving Gabriel alone with his thoughts. He stared at the brooch again, a tear slipping down his cheek. He gently wiped it away with a single finger. Taking a deep breath, he set the brooch down, and walked away. Not today. But maybe tomorrow.

Fall into Darkness (part one)
"The first thing I remember was the darkness... It was dark."
"Jack... Jack!"
Jack's eyes fluttered open, and he gasped, slowly sitting up. A dark forest around him, foggy, so he could barely see. It must have been night. He gripped his staff, eyes darting around. He had heard a voice... He saw a light! There! He ran towards it, to find a little cottage, lit with golden, warm light. He smiled, and flew to it, peeking in the window. Seemingly empty. He slowly opened the door. He softly called, "Hello?"
A shrieking noise started, causing Jack to grip his ears, trying to block out the noise. It sounded like a thousand bats zooming past, the flapping of wings... Or the clopping of horses. He stared, dumbfounded, at the thousands of dark mares that flew up from the floorboards, rushing past him, until he began to fall down.
He landed with a thud, on a sharp point, and groaned, as his staff fell out of his hand, and he could hear the wooden rod rolling against the stone.
"Hello, Jack... Long time no see, eh?" asked a soft voice he knew all too well.
"Pitch," he gasped, pushing himself up to see the man. It was Pitch alright - raven hair, slicked back, colorless skin, and those piercing, golden eyes.
The man laughed, holding up an object - Jack's staff! The boy's eyes widened. "How have you been? You know, I've been really busy... After you threw me away, like I was nothing. Well, now? Now, you're nothing." He grinned, as snapped the staff in two.
The frost spirit gasped, gripping his chest. He grit his teeth. "You're going to pay for that!" he shouted, before running at Pitch, only for a wall of dark sand to come up at the last second, sending him flying backwards.
The tall man clicked his tongue, tossing the broken staff into the shadows. "Oh, Jack Frost, when you learn?" He turned towards the boy, a smile on his lips. "Darkness and death, they always win, in the end. Which means... I will win."
"As if! The guardians will stop you - we have before, and we'll do it again!" shouted Frost, as he ran at Pitch again.
Pitch shot him a sharp glare, and from the floor rose dark sand, grabbing Jack's wrists, and stopping him. They made clinking sounds, as the boy struggled with them, amusing the villain. "We?" he simply asked, before chuckling, and elaborating. "The guardians are powerful, yes, but without their most powerful member... They will be easy to take out."
The boy shook his head. "You can't keep me here forever, Pitch!" he protested, pulling on the chains again, to no avail.
"Keep you here?" Pitch let out a deep chuckle and zoomed to two inches from Jack's face. "No, Jack... I'm not going to keep you here. I have... Other plans." He turned away from the boy, and sank down into the shadows.
The guardian glanced around the room, panic and fear beginning to bubble inside him. With a dry mouth, he muttered, "wh-what plans?"
Pitch let out a long, echoing laugh. "I never thought you'd ask..." he hissed.

Alternate Dark Cupid
Chat Noir pulled Ladybug down next to him. "I need to talk to you."
She shook her head. "It’s going to have to wait. Dark Cupi-"
Chat Noir hushed her. "I swore to myself that I'd tell you as soon as I saw you. Ladybug, I... I love-"
Ladybug gasped, as the arrow struck her back. Her lips slowly turned black, her eyes still wide.
"LADYBUG!" the boy shouted, staring at the black arrow as it dissipated in her back with wide, stunned eyes.
"Ladybug..." he whispered, before gripping her harder, sobbing into her shoulder.
She laughed, her voice higher pitched, and somehow, more evil. "You mean nothing to me, Chat Noir... No, you are nothing."
He grit his teeth. "No, you don't mean that... You're just affected by the akuma! Snap out of it, Ladybug!"
"I hate you. I've always hated you, deep down, inside my heart of hearts..." she whispered, narrowing her eyes.
Chat Noir struggled against the tears, stepping on Ladybug's feet, grabbing Ladybug's yo-yo, before hopping up with his staff, leaving her behind. He knew what he had do to - find the akuma, break the akumatized object, and purify the akuma so he could fix everything. No sweat... He jumped from rooftop to rooftop, searching for the akuma that dared mess with Ladybug.
Dark Cupid swooped down to Ladybug, who was gripping the edge of the rooftop, trying to climb up. The butterfly mask flickered over his face.
"Offer to help him in return for Ladybug's Miraculous," Hawk Moth commanded.
"I can help you crush Chat Noir, but you must give me his Miraculous in return." Dark Cupid held his hand out to Cat Noir, a smile on his face.
"No..." whispered Ladybug, face lowered, "problem." Ladybug took his hand, grinning.
Ladybug dropped in in front of Chat Noir, a sickly sinister smile on her face. "Well, well, Chat Noir..."
"I don't want to fight you, Ladybug!" he shouted, staring at her, twirling his staff, and swinging her yo-yo.
"I do," hisses Ladybug, before leaping into the air towards him, swinging a crowbar at him.
He dodged it and jumped up onto a roof, Ladybug in pursuit. Chat Noir used her yo-yo to grab Ladybug’s crowbar, pulling her towards him.
"Why are you so full of hate, Ladybug?" he asks, his eyes pleading.
She chuckled, eyes narrowing. "Because hate is stronger than anything..."
He shook his head. "That's not true, Ladybug! Love is stronger than hate..." He gasped. "That's it!"
"Stop stalling and fight me! AGHHH!" she shouted, running at him, preparing to swing.
He swiftly dodged, a smirk on his face. "Oh, I'll do better than that, my lady..."
Ladybug deadpanned. "Huh?"
"Just a peck, bugaboo..." He tried to kiss her, but missed. "Almost!"
She jumped back. "Wh-what are you doing, chaton?" she asked, slowly backing up, before full out running away.
Dark Cupid and Ladybug approach Chat Noir. "How are you gonna fight both of us now, kitty?" asked Ladybug, a smirk on her face.
"LUCKY CHARM!" shouted Chat Noir, throwing her yo-yo into the sky.
"You fool, it won't work, you're not in possession of the-" Her eyes widened as a candy apple landed in his hands. "ladybug... earrings..." she muttered.
He grinned at her. "You were saying, my lady? Don't worry, I'll figure it out... Just like you always do!" He glanced around quickly, just like she always did.
She growled, and once again launched herself at him. Using her momentum, he jumped on her, and threw the candy apple at Dark Cupid, making it stick to his head. With difficulty, he removes it.
"Looks like you got yourself in a sticky situation!" Chat Noir chuckled, watching the akuma struggle with the bow and arrow sticking to him. He turned back to Ladybug, who was recovering. "And now, for the lady~"
"Chat Noir!" Dark Cupid growled. "Ladybug, his miraculous!"
"With pleasure!" Ladybug grinned, pouncing on Chat Noir, resulting on her on top of him. "Time's up, kitty cat... Time for your true identity to be revealed!"
He gasped, and pulled her close to him, kissing her, and thus breaking the spell.
Ladybug gasped. "What am I doing here?"
"No time, Ladybug, the quiver pin!" Chat Noir shouted, throwing her at Dark Cupid.
She grinned, and snatched it. "Aw, thank you!"
"No!" shouted Dark Cupid, watching her sail back down and proceed to drop it, and stomp on it.
"Oh, uh, you might need this," Chat Noir chuckled, tossing her her yo-yo.
She nodded, smiling. "Thanks, chaton. No more evil doing for you, little akuma...!"
Chat Noir stopped listening, thinking of those beautiful few moments, where he was so close with Ladybug...
"Pound it!" they said, as they always said, as they fist bumped.
"Hahaha! Can you believe all the horrible thoughtless things Ladybug said to you?" Plagg asked, eating his Camembert.
Adrien scoffed. "You think it's funny, huh?"
"What's the big deal? You've got so many cards from all these lady fans of yours! Take your pick!" Plagg chose a heart-shaped one from the cards.
Adrien glanced at it, and his eyes widened. "Whoa, hold up! Someone answered my poem? But I threw it away!" He began to read the poem aloud, "Your hair shines like the sun, your eyes are gorgeous green, I look at you and wonder your innermost thoughts and dreams. Yes, your Valentine I will be, our love will be so true, together for eternity, my heart belongs to you." He gasped.
The kwami rolled his eyes. "Aw, well, anyone who writes as sickeningly sweet as you must be your soulmate."
"It isn't signed..." A ladybug flies and lands on the card. He follows it to the window, and watches it fly away. "Could it have come from Ladybug?" he asked, hope in his voice.
"Oh, please," muttered Plagg, rolling his eyes again.
Adrien fell back in bed with a satisfied sigh. "Even if it isn't from Ladybug... I will never forget her lips. I kissed her... Even if it was for just a moment, just to break the spell..."
Plagg shook his head, crossing his arms. "It doesn't count, since she doesn't remember it."
The boy gently touched his chest, above where his heart was. "It might not count to you, but it really means the world to me..."
The little kwami glanced at the teen, with a soft, startled expression that turned into a smile. "Yeah, well, chances are you won't be getting another one, so maybe you should hold onto it while you can..."
"I will," he vowed, pressing his hand against his heart. "I will never forget."

Inspiration of a Grieving Man
A cold, snowy day. Gabriel Agreste was grieving, kneeling by his wife's grave. His tears turned to ice as they fell, making little clinking sounds as they hit the stone.
He slowly removed his clenched fist from his pocket, and opened it. Inside were two little pieces of jewelry. He smiled, and let out a sob, his head falling down.
He could remember waking up alone, and being terrified. He had everyone in the Mansion search for her - and they found her outside, in the snow. Dead.
How he missed her... She was his sun. He could never start a day without her, bright and brilliant to rouse him from sleep. Her smile was beautiful, and her laugh was like the tinkling of bells... She was warm, too, never cold. Not until the day she died...
He could remember that day like yesterday. It had been little over a week ago. Waking up alone, and the eminent terror that followed... He had everyone search for her. It was just around lunchtime that she was found, outside in the snow. Dead.
The funeral was only two days after. Gabriel held back his tears, but Adrien openly sobbed. The casket was closed, and there were many flowers. It snowed that day, when they lowered her into the dirt. Everyone wore black, and had black umbrellas for the snow.
He shivered, placing a hand on her grave. Cold... So very cold. He closed his eyes.
He did this often. Visited her, alone, and openly weeped. Nathalie was helpful, she had informed everyone that he would not be available for a while. She helped watch over Adrien while he was grieving.
He raised his head. "I miss you..." He whispered. "I miss you so much, Adele. Adrien misses you... Why did you leave?" he asked, staring at her engraved name, as if it could answer him.
"Isn't there something I can do? I need you... Adrien needs you... Please, there must be something!" He slammed his fist onto the stone, accomplishing nothing but cold and pain. He sighed, dropping his head, and closing his eyes. "Something..." he whispered.
It was instantaneous, really. He gasped, as the realization ran through him. He had the key in the very palm of his hand... He looked, staring at the miraculous, and chuckled. "I can bring you back... Can't I? We did miraculous things together... Is bringing you home impossible? No, of course not! I can bring you back... I know I can. I'll ask Nooroo, and Duusu, too. I'll figure it out..." Excited, he gently kissed her grave. "It won't be long, Adele. I'm going to figure this out, and bring you back - this I promise."
With new purpose, Gabriel proudly marched back to the mansion. He was determined, and a bit excited. Adele wouldn't be gone forever... He could figure it out, and she'd be back, like nothing ever happened at all!
He strode into his office, and to Adele's portrait. He stopped, staring at her beautiful green eyes. Would she want this? He paused, and swallowed. Of course she would, he thought, before moving the portrait to reveal his safe. He quickly entered the passcode, and pulled out the book of the miraculous. Yes, this would work out... He would figure it out. He could figure it out, and that was the important part.

Design Tips
Gabriel Agreste let out a long, exasperated sigh as he exited his lair. Today had been an excruciatingly long day. Another failed akuma, which meant another day without his wife.
The man perked up when he heard a noise. A voice?
"...the Bubbler? Unacceptable, very bad design. Not even a touch intimidating, I might add. What exactly were you thinking?" came the unfamiliar, accented voice.
Gabriel froze, eyes darting around his seemingly empty office. That voice didn't belong to Nathalie or Adrien... "Who's there?" he asked, looking around the room. Was the perpetrator was invisible?
His office chair turned around, and he saw her - a dwarf of a lady, with dark hair and freakishly large glasses. Her feet didn't even touch the floor, and he could see the back of the chair over her head. No wonder he hadn't noticed her...
Gabriel stared at the little lady in disbelief. "Who are you? How did you get in here?"
"Edna Mode. I've come here, dahling, to help you with your horrible akuma designs," she explained, with the hint of a smile.
The first emotion that Gabriel jumped to was, of course, offense. "Horrible?" he whispered, putting his hand to his chest, before shaking his head. "I don't know what you're talking about!"
The tiny woman chuckled. "Gabriel - Can I call you that? - Gabriel, you must think I'm a moron to not see who you truly are. Now, now, dahling, no need to get so upset! I am here to help you!"
The man gave her a strange look. "What do you mean, here to help me?"
"Design," she grinned. "Your current designs are hideous, no wonder you never get what you want! Your villains must strike fear into the hearts of the heroes!" She held up a picture of the Bubbler. "This? Trash. What were you even thinking?" She ripped the photo in half.
He slowly nodded, swallowing back his pride. Insulting his work was his berserk button, and it took everything within him to restrain himself from letting loose on Edna.
She continued, "A successful outfit design is half the battle, Gabriel. I know, I know. You are sick and tired, why spend time on making them look intimidating? But it is worth it, I say! Make yourself proud of your work, dahling!" She encouraged, offering a smile.
He raised an eyebrow, but nodded anyway. "Is that all?"
She shook her head. "There is more. You see the flaw in most superhero designs - the cape. No capes! You, at least, know this."
He clenched his fists, deeply inhaled, before letting it back out. "And?"
"That is all. I look forward to your next design, dahling Gabriel, see you again soon!" She hobbled to the door and left, leaving the businessman baffled.
"Nathalie?" he gently called, after a moment. "...I think I'm going to need a drink."

Aftermath (serious angst)
Moonlight Sonata played in the background as Adrien fell back on his bed, staring at the ceiling with a helpless expression.
Everything was different now. His father was Hawk Moth, and he was alone - Nathalie his sole guardian. He hadn’t even known.
It was grief. Gabriel Agreste had become someone else. It had changed him, changed him into a sad shell of a man, desperate, willing to do anything to bring back the one he loved. He was even willing to give up his own life just to get his hands on the miraculous. He had made all the arrangements, he had distanced himself from Adrien so the hurt would be less - but it was all for nothing.
Gabriel went to prison for his actions. He was gone, out of the grand picture of Adrien’s life, just like he had planned.
But Adele wasn’t here.
That might have hurt the worst, knowing the truth. Knowing that terrorizing Paris, attacking him, threatening everyone - it was all for him. Everything Gabriel had done was in an attempt to better his son’s life. Because he truly loved him.
The tortured sound of piano rang throughout the room. The boy felt like he never wanted to move again, but then his phone buzzed. He glanced over to it, and saw she was calling again. He groaned, and turned away, not willing to look.
It eventually stopped buzzing and went to voicemail. “Hey, Adrien, it’s Marinette… Please call me back, okay? Everyone is really worried about you…” She fell silent for a moment, and he was sure she had hung up.
He glanced over, and she continued on with a sigh, “Look, I know you’re upset, but we can talk about it, right? Hiding it isn’t going to help anything. It’s going to make it worse… You don’t even have to talk to me. Talk to Nino, or Alya, or heck, even Chloe… Just… please… talk to someone. I’m so… I’m worried…” She was sobbing now, almost unable to get the words out.
His look softened, before it hardened, and he shut down his phone.
Ladybug and Chat Noir had finally tracked Hawk Moth down to the top of the Eiffel Tower. There was a big battle, but ultimately it ended up with Hawk Moth using his secret power, and detransforming in front of them.
The duo was stunned. Chat Noir fled, running off before a word could be said. Of course, Ladybug didn’t follow, too busy with Gabriel.
“Look, kid, maybe you should call her back,” suggested Plagg, with a shrug.
Adrien glared at his kwami. “I thought I told you to shut up!” he snapped, shaking with rage.
Even the god of destruction looked scared, eyes wide. He was at a loss of words, too, before sighing. “Look, kid, you’re going down a dark path. Your dad is the big evil bad guy you’ve been fighting the entire time, and worse, he’s been doing it for you. You don’t know how to cope, so you’re just playing sad piano music and ignoring your friends. You really need to go talk to-”
Adrien slid off his ring and threw it at the wall, surprising Plagg for the split second before he vanished. The blond boy sank in his bed. The kwami was right, of course. They all were right. But talking to someone wouldn’t bring his parents back. It wouldn’t fix the mess he was in right now. It would accomplish nothing, really.
He let out a cry, and suddenly he couldn’t stop himself. He openly sobbed into his pillow, strangling it, shudders running through his body. He felt so alone… But he wasn’t lonely. He had plenty of friends. Yes, plenty of friends… but no family. His mother was likely dead, his father was in jail. He had no one else.
No one else…
He stared at the silver ring on the floor, an inexplicable sadness running through him. Plagg…
A knock at the window startled him. There was Ladybug, looking troubled, against the window. ‘Can I come in?’ she mouthed, and he simply nodded, before looking away, towards his trash can.
She easily opened the door and slipped in, her feet softly hitting the floor. “Hey, Adrien…” she said, awkwardly, tilting her head.
He didn’t respond, not meeting her eyes.
She sighed. “I heard about your dad. That must be pretty hard…” she tried, offering a small smile, but it was fake.
The blond boy gripped the cover of his bed, his eyes tearing up again.
Her eyes widened, she approached. “Hey, hey, it’s okay-”
“IT’S NOT OKAY! IT’S ANYTHING BUT OKAY!” he screamed, eyes wide with anger. He was on his feet, panting, pointing angrily at Ladybug. “YOU - YOU CAN’T IMAGINE WHAT I’M GOING THROUGH RIGHT NOW, LADYBUG! MY MOM IS GONE AND MY DAD IS, TOO, AND NEITHER OF THEM ARE EITHER COMING BACK!”
She stared, jaw dropped. “Adrien,” she choked, unable to say anything else.
“You didn’t even know him… I didn’t even know him,” he muttered, unable to look at her anymore. “I never really knew anything about him…” he let out a shuddering sigh. “And now I never will.”
A single tear ran down Ladybug’s cheek, her mouth still open. “I’m sorry,” she finally said.
He shook his head. “No… I am.” With a sense of finality, he repeated, “I am.”
She nodded, and held open her arms. Slowly, he walked towards her, and hugged her tightly.
She hugged him back just as tight. No more words were exchanged. None were needed. They slowly let go, and stared into each other’s eyes.
Adrien looked so helpless… Ladybug had a small smile. “Adrien?” she asked, hesitantly.
“Yeah?” he whispered, staring into her eyes.
“It’s going to be alright. Alright?” she asked.
He smiled softly, and nodded. “Yeah… Alright.”
Ladybug just as easily leapt out the window, with nothing more than a slight goodbye wave. Adrien watched her until she was out of sight, before closing the window.
The boy went to the silver ring on the floor, before scooping it up and slipping it on. Ladybug was right, he decided. It would be alright… eventually.

Angst
"I DIDN'T KILL MY WIFE!" Gabriel shouted, his face livid.
Adrien's eyes widened, staring at his father. He couldn't say a word, he was so stunned.
"I mean..." the man let out a shaky sigh, "I didn't... mean... To kill my wife." He buried his head in his hands, unable to stop the tears now.
Moments passed before the blonde boy walked over and hugged him.
The man gasped, before slowly embracing his son back just as tight. "I'm so sorry, Adrien," he whispered, squeezing to emphasize his words.
"No," the boy responded, staring at the ground, cheeks wet. "I'm the one who is sorry."
A tentative silence filled the air, but neither of the two let go, knowing what must come after letting go - moving on.
