Tape aka HT Papyrus

Meet Tape.

Named much like his brother after the very thing that holds him together: tape. A body suit holds all his dust in, compacting it into something like body parts. His head taped to his patched up body suit, buttons are taped where his eyes used to be as Tape is entirely blind.

Tape came to life with the knowledge that everything changed but unlike his brother he carries less guilt. He knows what they did saved some as not everyone had to be brought back and he has accepted the did what they had to for the time they have. He is excited to have a second chance and ready to live life to the fullest again but his humor has taken a more sarcastic turn and if anything his cooking is worse than ever given he cannot taste it. He runs a small restaurant with Platelet and anyone who can eat his dishes and hold them down gets free meals for a month. So far no one has won. Art is by the most magnificent @isnt-that-something​! She is really most wonderful dear and I can’t thank her enough for helping me bring my bois to life  <3

Horrotale (The Mummy)

Unlike some of the other stories, this AU variant only uses the base concept (very, very loosely) of mummies coming back to life and some premise of the book. 

At first, Horrortale starts fairly standard to canon until the cannibalism is not enough. Monsters dust too quickly and all that’s left, no matter how much Sans and others try, is dust and no food. Humans stop falling. Alphys and Undyne decided to use the last of the Cores' power to bring everyone back to life and erase hunger but it didn’t truly work. They came back as themselves but without their Souls magic. Not quite alive, not quite dead and not truly monsters anymore the new Underground set to putting itself back together in any shape and fashion it could. The loss of Souls magic has stagnated them and twisted memories but they are “alive” and that’s all Undyne wished for. Though not everyone is happy with this, the Core could only power so much, some came back as sentient piles of dust, others with entire body parts missing, and worse their Souls are just shapes they can hold in their hands. Most keep them tucked away within their bodies though some abandon them entirely. It is uncertain as to whether or not they can ever be whole again or if the reversal of the dusting has simply left them forever as they are. But those who can are trying to make the best of a new world and new bodies, putting new skills together with new technology, and who knows, maybe the answer to changing them back fully lies on the surface.

Stitches aka HT Sans

Meet Stitches. Named casually after the stitching that holds together his joints, his eye, his jaw and oh so helpfully, his dust. Dust which has been stored and sewn into his jacket and sealed at the cuffs.  Stitches has come to life with the knowledge that everything they did ended up being for naught. It’s a hard pill to swallow and he has not come to terms with it. He blames himself for not doing enough sooner. This boi has a guilt complex like you wouldn’t believe. His humor errs on the darker side and though he no longer speaks he is fluent in ASL, decent in MLS, and Tusken Sign Language because he thought it’d be fun. While underground he was in charge of spotting when supplies came in to help put everything back together, he now does odd jobs tailoring.  Art is curtsey of the most wonderful @isnt-that-something​ who is the bee knees and did so great with this I am still squealing <3

FAQ

What is this AU called? No idea. What books/movies were used? Frankenstein (UF), The Picture of Dorian Gray (FSG), Invisible Man (UT), A Werewolf in London (US), Lovecraft (UL), Dracula (FSR), Jekyll and Hyde (FSP), The Mummy (HT) What's the basic setting?  The world all the monsters have arrived in is a strange Victorian era. The magic released changing the human world when they all finally broke free until it became a mix of reality and all the horrors of the Undertale universes. Monsters became real on the surface as they were in the Underground. Werewolves roam, Vampires exist, works of fiction all come to life and everyone is struggling with the fallout and trying to make lives for themselves in this new and unexpected reality.

Are they all based off Victorian novels? No. But I still like the overall Victorian/Steampunk theme so that’s what you’re getting.
