Here I am, jumping on the rewrite bandwagon. This one's premise is that Firepaw is mentored by Tigerclaw and ultimately helps him in his coup against Bluestar.

Clan culture: Seers
- Unknown if StarClan actually exists. Leaders do not literally get nine lives, but they do come out of Mothermouth a changed cat
- Seers (medicine cats) ingest hallucinogens (“Moon Flower” aka Jimson weed) before communicating with StarClan. They claim that the plant opens their minds and lets them into a sort of netherworld between the living and the dead
- Seers meet at the Moonstone once a month, but they can communicate with StarClan by ingesting the plant and isolating themselves as well
- Seers are the most exalted members of the Clan. However, they are typically withdrawn from normal Clan life and are seen more as an outsider than a friend
- Seers live shorter lives due to the hallucinogens they ingest. Moon Flower must be used sparingly, because if a seer uses it too often, their visions will start to bleed into their day-to-day lives, causing persistent hallucinations even while not under the influence (this is part of the reason that a seer apprenticeship is much longer than a warrior apprenticeship — seers must learn how to safely commune with StarClan)

Clan culture: RiverClan
- Values: grace, intelligence, likability, athleticism
- Sacred animal: otter
- Celebrates green-leaf with a fishing and sunning festival
- Least religious Clan
- Leader is viewed as a Clanmate and regularly hunts/patrols with the warriors
- Leader speaks to all warriors before making decisions (somewhat akin to democracy)
- Most loosely follows the Warrior Code
- Warriors regularly opt to become kittypets — Clan welcomes outsiders and outbreeding with kittypets/rogues/loners
- Places strong emphasis on family
- Warriors typically mate for life with a ceremony when they declare each other mates
- Mates are allowed to outbreed but each mate will love and care for the resulting kits as if they were theirs (biologically)
- It’s not uncommon for best friends to choose to have kits together (even if they’re not mates)
- Places high emphasis on physical beauty
- Decorates camp and dens with shells/feathers
- The dead are laid to rest in the river, where the body is swept away

Clan culture: WindClan
- Values: candor, wisdom, humility, spirituality
- Sacred animal: hawk
- Celebrates new-leaf with annual races and obstacle courses
- Welcomes outsiders IF the outsider can beat a pure blooded WindClan warrior in a race
- Strongly discourages breeding outside the Clan
- Most strictly follows the Warrior Code
- VERY religious
- Leader consults with seer (medicine cat) before every decision made (checking the will of StarClan)
- Queens and fathers often raise their kits together as a collective
- The dead are taken to a “cemetery” spot high on the moor and laid out so their spirits can ride the wind to StarClan
- WindClan cats are horrified by the idea of burying the dead and trapping them underground

Clan culture: ShadowClan
- Values: stealth, cunning, ferocity, loyalty
- Sacred animal: owl
- Celebrates leaf-bare by playing prey-stone on the frozen marsh
- Clan is awake primarily at night but still assigns sunhigh and sunset patrols
- Light-furred cats are encouraged to roll in the mud when hunting at night
- Places emphasis on the bond between squad-mates (cats who trained together as apprentices)
- Extremely superstitious
- Word of the leader = word of God
- Seer (medicine cat) is the most valued member of the Clan; to disrespect the seer is to disrespect StarClan themselves
- Perform blood sacrifices to StarClan in times of hardship
- Welcomes outsiders with open arms and doesn’t give a shit about blood “purity”
- Fathers are rarely involved with their kits but try to keep their individual breeding pools small (this is why Raggedstar’s relationship with Brokentail was unusual)
- Bogs are considered gateways to StarClan — once you’re stuck in a bog, it’s nearly impossible to escape
- As such, apprentices are taught to respect and revere the bogs, but to avoid them at all costs
- ShadowClan cats lay their dead to rest in the bog

Clan cultures: ThunderClan
- Values: honor, strength, integrity, courage
- Sacred animal: deer
- Celebrates leaf-fall by decorating the camp with fallen leaves that they find beautiful
- Places emphasis on the bond between mentor and apprentice
- Word of the leader has immense weight, but the leader traditionally listens to their Clanmates’ advice and concerns
- Not overly religious but still respects StarClan
- Wary of outsiders
- Values blood “purity”
- Uncommon for queens to choose not to divulge the sire, but not taboo
- The dead are buried under the Great Sycamore, where their bodies give life to the tree
