“Many people seem to think it foolish, even superstitious, to believe that the world could still change for the better. And it is true that in winter it is sometimes so bitingly cold that one is tempted to say, ‘What do I care if there is a summer; its warmth is no help to me now.’ Yes, evil often seems to surpass good. But then, in spite of us, and without our permission, there comes at last an end to the bitter frosts. One morning the wind turns, and there is a thaw. And so I must still have hope.”
— Vincent Van Gogh (via jasminesapphires)

The ossuary monument in Kavadarci, North Macedonia, designed by Petar Mulichkovski and built in 1976, stands as a striking example of soc-monumental art and modernist architecture. Its bold geometric forms and sculptural concrete structure reflect the innovative approach to commemoration in 20th century Yugoslavia. As part of the broader Spomenik tradition, the monument holds international significance for its unique fusion of art, architecture and collective memory. Documented by B.A.C.U. Association, it contributes to global conversations about modernist heritage and the preservation of postwar memorial landscapes. The ossuary remains an important cultural landmark, showcasing the artistic ambition of Yugoslav monumental art.

Some of my favorite hobbies are counting my chickens before they hatch, putting all my eggs in one basket, crying over spilled milk, barking up the wrong tree, and above all, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results
