I'm not very active here but everytime I can, I'm always looking in the zutara tag and I hate to say this but there's ai art in this fandom.
Make your own conclusions and do your research about it but I just checked with another artist whose art was stolen using AI and learned a lot about this topic. I myself had artworks stolen for not using watermarks correctly so...
As an artist, I feel proud of people that actually put work on their art and do not rely on AI. I prefer looking at newbies and see how they slowly improve than these "artists" that hid behind excuses.
I'll block these people, I don't care how beautiful the art is or how much attention they got. I will not support AI art.
I wanted to reply but my response is too long for that. (Idk how Tumblr works either so... xD)
I'm also having questions like Anon. I would also like to know if she got to the point of talking seriously with Ursa alone about her son or not, because if she didn't it would seem that she was testing Zuko as well as Ursa with her reaction to the engagement precisely because of the love relationships she had before. At least that should be the last thing to try before ending everything and Katara is not one to be afraid to be direct with another person if she wants to.
Ngl, I also kinda got this same feeling as annon bc it felt like Katara was having her own issues with the way the story started, like she got two bad previous experiences on her love life that came to affect her now unaware of it. It felt like she compared Zuko and tested him if he would put her and her thoughts first, unlike Aang and Jet. Zuko is terrible, there is no doubt that he favored his mother more than Katara, but it also makes me wonder if the difference was that much because Zuko was aware that his mother would be happy about the news of their breakup in the end of the story. If it was that extreme, it would have been the opposite. I don't know if I explain myself. To me it feels like there were problems from both sides. I don't know if you will continue this story but these are my thoughts. I want to see more of Zuko and his pov. Love your story btw! <3
Controversial Hot Take incoming about The Other Woman.
Did at any point Katara try to have it out with Ursa? I don't get why Katara wants Zuko to fight her battles for her? That's not say that Zuko doesn't shoulder the large part of the blame. But if she just passively took the comments from Ursa, it probably gives off the idea that Ursa didn't strongly bother her or that she was willing to believe that things would eventually get better.
On the other side, did she even try to befriend or simply get to know Ursa one on one without Zuko around? Take her out to lunch and hash out their differences, get to the root of the problem and try to find accord? At some point before he proposed, she had to have known this woman was probably going to be part of her life. I don't get why she didn't attempt to have it out with her, one way or the other.
Again, I'm not blaming Katara. Zuko absolutly needed to put his foot down much earlier. But I think he was blindsided by how much Katara was actually upset about this since she didn't come out and say it. And by not telling him exactly what she needed from him and not giving him a chance to work on it
Basically, maybe they should be in couples counseling too?
Sorry, for the long post. But that story breaks my heart and I want them to have a happy ending, sooner rather than later.
That's an interesting take. Do you think that Katara confronting Ursa directly would have made the situation better? Personally, I think in a couple, each should handle conflicts with their own family for the most part. If Katara had never addressed Ursa's treatment of her with Zuko before this, then yeah, that would be bad. But I would argue that there's a reason why Katara expected Ursa's reaction to news of the engagement to be more measured than it was.
Please watch this amazing Zutara. It made me giddy. (Update; the OG post is from Twitter this person just reposted it on tiktok will add the OG link once I find it)
Zuko opened his eyes as soon as he felt her fingers on him. A familiar sense of coolness underneath the warmth of her skin. Even without seeing her face, he would know her. As an enemy, her hands were deadly and unyielding. But as an ally, they were merciful.
He often wondered if their souls were intertwined. How else would one explain this sense of connection? Of always meeting each other in every corner of the world, no matter what mask they wear or disguise they don? He closed his eyes then leaned in.
A patron sketch request that I adored so much I colored it :D
it's been a long time I didn't work on rendering so hard in small details. The last time I painted like this was my Ackerman AU. Drawing Mikasa always feels good and fun all the time, Idk why. Anyways, enjoy!
Forgot to post my last art commission here. I finished it and went to bed quickly, lol. I even forgot to add my signature but now I want to match with my Twitter post so... This version stays.
