When Adam bit the apple he did it because he trusted Eve. Because he loved her. Adam bit into the apple because the woman he loved told him to, no matter what God said. No matter the rules of heaven. What’s heaven to a woman’s love anyway? What’s God to your wife? The first sins of humanity, were trusting others. Eve trusted a snake, Adam trusted Eve, and I trust you. Maybe that’s a sin, just like the first couple. Maybe everyone’s right about us and we’re sinners and we offend God. But like I said, what’s God to a woman’s love anyway? What has heaven got that I can’t find sitting next to you on a cool autumn morning?

It’s kind of a shame that “Catholics worship the saints and Mary on the same level as god” is the prevalent thought among non-Catholics because “Catholics treat the saints and Mary as a divine call center” is both more true in my experience and INFINITELY funnier

i like to imagine myself doing things with god just… around. on my computer doing an essay and imagining his prescience as a person there. when i’m taking my medication. when i’m on the train. god is there with me, a friend in silence

actually when God said “go forth and multiply” he meant do math. he meant, invent multiplication in the art of mathematics. only Archimedes got that and they killed him for it

ive been having this terrible feeling of wanting to hurt those who used their belief in god to hurt me lately and it frightens me. i know it’s impossible to never ever have a violent thought and under no circumstances should i act on it but somehow i still feel like the lord is disappointed in me

hi, i’m anthea or audrey. i’m 19 (2/26/2003), a lesbian, and i use they/them or any pronouns really. i went through a lot and am making my way back to the church and trying to reconnect with god as a catholic. i don’t capitalize words referring to god as of now because i find it triggering but i don’t mind if others do so. i hold no resentment, only hope. my original posts are tagged #the book of audrey. god be with you. <3

i feel like a lot of struggling christians in my inbox think that i have some how reconciled my “christianess” with my religious trauma, christian dominion, and bloody history of the church. babes this is something you and i are gonna have to wrestle with our whole lives. sometimes all you need to do is accept the dark shadow is there.

“Life’s a little intense don’t ya think?” / “I suppose it is.” / “Though I know things aren’t so intense now. No world-wide floods or anything.” / “None of my making.” / “The punishments, I get them, I totally get it. But the pillar of salt was a bit much.” / “Perhaps.” / “I mean you picked a hell of a time to be laissez-faire. We’re on our own out here.” / “As We intended.” / “I mean, I don’t even know what to do half the time.” / “We gifted you free will.” / “And the world is on fire.” / “So it is.” / “Why do we have to endure this loneliness?” / “Because We ask it of you” / “But why ask it of us?” / “Because I am lonely too.” / “How does God get lonely?” / “When one is born without equal, one cannot help but be lonely.” / “…” / “We have created you in Our image. You have inherited Our loneliness, for that We are sorry.” / “Don’t be.” / “Giving commands to God, are we?” / “It is my right.” / “That it is. That it is.”
