Freshman Year
Hi everyone, how have things been going for you all recently?
As I said yesterday, this freshman year was pretty weird and crazy in general, mostly because of the pandemic. I mean, it just took away so much time, and caused so many unnecessary struggles, whether it be trying to not get sick or having someone that you know get sick. It also took away from my freshman, and high school experiences, not to mention the seniors who are graduating not being able to do anything to celebrate with their friends during their final year of school. Now that really sucks. Not to mention the fact that this virus is extremely harmful to the elderly, causing much stress in families to not get sick.
So, I hope that the second wave is not as bad as medical experts are saying and that they can create a vaccine before then. If it is, we will likely be quarantined once again and we will have to be stuck inside for another few months.
Anyways, I hope that you can all stay safe and healthy for the remainder of the quarantine and that you all make the most of all of your extra time at home.
Bye.

Last Week Update
Hi everyone, how are you all?
It’s been a crazy freshman year, from being in high school for the first time to being in a worldwide quarantine, and I am sure that many people would agree with me on this. I would have assumed that we would get less homework from the teachers, but mine have not seemed to be toning down on the homework, as I have already received MULTIPLE projects due this week, but I should be able to get through it just fine. I know that many people have been struggling a lot with e-learning, there is even a petition in the state of Illinois with 150,000 supporters to void all fourth quarter grades. I didn’t sign it though because I needed to RAISE my grades, not keep them the same.
Other than it being the last week of school, we may also be nearing the end of quarantine, and that will mean that we will FINALLY be free (but we will likely be quarantined again when the second wave rolls around.
Anyways, I’m excited for quarantine to end, but in the meantime stay safe and practice social distancing, enjoy the rest of your day. Also, I will try to write again at around the same time tomorrow afternoon, see you all then.
Bye.

The Second Wave
Hi everyone, how are all of you?
So I have some bad news. As I have said in a previous blog post, there is going to be a second wave of the Coronavirus. The director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated that the second wave of the virus is going to be much worse and impactful than the first. The main reason for this is because the Coronavirus pandemic will exist during the flu season. This means that there will be two life-threatening infectious diseases on the loose. Now it will be even harder than ever to determine what disease a person has, as there is a lack of test kits in the US. Hospitals are already overwhelmed, so think of how much worse it will be. The President hasn’t been helping either, he has been encouraging protests to end the quarantine, which will put so many people at risk.
At this point, there is little that civilians can do. They can’t go anywhere, can’t visit people, and can’t live normally. The best approach to the situation is to stay home as much as you can, constantly wash your hands, and to practice social distancing with others.
Anyway, I hope you all have a good and safe rest of your day.
Bye.

Another Random Update
Hi everybody,
How have you all been doing in the midst of this pandemic? What have you all been doing to keep yourself from being bored? To keep myself from boredom (like I have been doing), is trying new things, spending time with my family, watching TV, playing board games, and playing video games. Not to mention countless other things that I had not listed above, because of how many new things I have tried.
So, I have an interesting project in my engineering class. The goal of the project is to design and create a prototype face mask with at least one innovative function. We had to pick from the three sketches we made, and I chose the sketch of the mask with adjustable ear bands; due to the fact that it was the only idea that I had the materials to create. The project is due on Friday, and I’ve already prepared to do it later today.
Anyway, I hope you all have a great day. Oh, and by the way, I will not be writing tomorrow so expect to see me back sometime at the beginning of next week.
Bye, and remember to stay safe and to stay home.

Can’t Wait for Summer
Hi everyone,
Is it just me, or does anyone else want summer to arrive more quickly?
After this long and usual Freshman year, I and many of my friends and classmates are just waiting for Summer to roll around. E-learning is honestly stressing a lot of people out, myself included, and the quarantine does not exactly help the matter. The ones hit the worst are those who are graduating this year or those who are stuck outside of the country. The graduates can not spend their final weeks with their friends and can’t hang out with them. Those who are stuck outside of the country can not come back home to their houses, jobs, friends, and even their families. Many other people are also harshly affected by these circumstances including first responders, social workers, law enforcement, doctors, and many more people. I hope for their sake that a vaccine is found faster, to minimize their chances of catching the virus.
Anyway, hopefully we will not have to be inside for longer than up to another month. I just want to go out and visit my friends again, and I’m sure you all do. I’ll also try to write earlier tomorrow like I did today. Have a nice day.
Bye.

Celebrating Birthdays
Hi everyone,
How are you all, are you guys doing fine?
So out of all of the irregular events caused by the Coronavirus, I just realized what one of the weird of these events are; birthdays. You are stuck at your house on your special day, nowhere to go, nothing much to do. Fortunately I had my birthday before quarantine started, but my dad wasn’t as lucky as I was; he had to have his birthday during quarantine.
To start his birthday celebration, my family and I played his favorite card game with him, he won of course. We then ate some chocolate mousse cake (which we ordered a few days in advance), following that we gave him his gifts, and we finished it off by watching a documentary about the 90’s Chicago Bulls. We actually just finished watching it less than an hour ago.
Hopefully none of you have had to celebrate your birthdays during quarantine. However, if you have, I hope your next birthday celebration will be worth the wait.
So I hope you all enjoy the rest of quarantine (or at the very least try to) and remember to spend time with your family. Also, I will do my best to write earlier on during the day tomorrow.
Bye.

Looking Forward to Normal Life
Hi everyone, how have you all been recently? Have you done anything exciting in the midst of this quarantine? I have not been doing much of anything too interesting lately, I was actually just doing homework and decided to take a break to write on the blog. Since I have had so much extra time, I have been thinking a lot about returning back to life after the quarantine.
Due to the quarantine, we missed out on a vast amount of things. Some of these include the following: Visiting friends, visiting family members, watching movies at the cinema, eating at restaurants, going to school, going to church, and even going to the gym. So basically religious worship, entertainment, dining, or visiting people you know. These are all important things for most people including myself, so I just can’t wait to get back to normal life and I know that many share this same viewpoint. Quarantine also delayed the production of new movies and video games, therefore hurting part of the entertainment industry.
Anyway, I just wanted to remind you all to stay safe, stay healthy, and most importantly try to stay positive in these tough times. The quarantine can’t last forever and it will have to end soon.
Bye.

School or E-Learning?
Hi everyone, how are you all? What have you all thought about e-learning? Is it better or is it worse than regular school.
If I really think about it, I am not sure what I think is better. The pros of e-learning are that we get Wednesday’s off, we have less school time, we don’t need to drive to school, and we have extra time between classes, while its cons are that we get way more homework, we can not talk to any of our friends, and that you need to find a quiet place in your house to be able to hear and talk during Zoom meetings. The pros of actually going to school and learning are seeing my friends, there is less homework, it is much easier to communicate with teachers regarding assignments, and there is an experience to be had. Its cons would be that it is a 30-40 minute drive there, I have to leave the house early if I want to ask teachers questions, we have more school time, and that we do not have Wednesdays off.
I honestly think it balances out and that they’re pretty equal.
Anyway, remember to wash up, stay inside and get plenty of sleep.
Bye.

Random Update
Hi everyone,
How are you all? I have been pretty good today other than a bad stomach ache.
Honestly, I’m not really sure why I enjoyed today. It seemed like a mediocre day and I’m not feeling too well, but I guess I might as well enjoy the day while I can.
For the first time in a while, I decided to watch TV this week. It is not that I hate watching TV, it’s just that I have more important things to do than that. Plus if I have extra free time, I would not watch TV, but rather play video games. I honestly just decided to try it out because I was bored of the current game that I was playing.
Anyway, remember that treadmill competition I was having with my family? Right now I am winning, so I just need to keep it up for another week or so if I want to win. It has honestly been a lot better than I had originally expected. Wish me luck!
By the way, you should all have ordered face masks on amazon if you plan on heading to the store anytime soon.
I hope you all have a good day. I will be adding to my blog tomorrow.
Bye.

More Things to do During Quarantine
Hi everyone,
How are you all doing?
I have been pretty bored, and due to just being bored, I have decided to make another list of things to do during quarantine.I took a few minutes to sit down and think about it. Some of the things that I thought of in those fifteen minutes include the following: trying to learn to code, exploring the web for interesting information, or do some of the things that I had stated on previous lists. These can be learning to cook a new dish, learning a new language using Rosetta Stone, spending time with your family, watching TV, watching a movie, or even just sitting down and thinking about life.
By doing some of these things, and by exploring a couple of your own interests, you can quench most, if not all of your boredom. I also recommend that you all come up with a list of your own, as no one really knows how long this quarantine will last, it may end up rolling past next Fall for all we know.
Anyway, I hope you all have a great rest of your day and stay safe. Spend time with your family and try to enjoy this extra time at home.
Bye.

Quarantine Boredom
Hi everyone,
How are you all doing? I’m honestly pretty bored today, as there is nothing to really do after a while. At this point I’m just spending any free time with my family or playing on my Xbox. Other than that, I just try to talk to some of my friends if I get bored of Xbox.
Just recently, I learned about the second wave. Medical experts believe that Coronavirus will die down during the summer, spreading and showing less and less symptoms, and then come back worse than it is already NOW. So if anything, it will only be worse and there is an extremely high likelihood of most of America’s population becoming infected.
Due to this, I honestly might just decide to stay inside for most of the summer unless a cure or treatment is found within that time. I’m not too optimistic that a treatment will be developed by then, as they are not making too much progress as of now.
Looking back, I still can’t believe that this quarantine just sprung up without anyone expecting it. I mean, it really came up out of nowhere.
I’ll be writing again tomorrow, but until then, stay home and stay safe.
Bye.

Update
Hi everyone,
I know that it has been a week or two since I last wrote, but I’m back, and I am also going to write again tomorrow. In the time that I was gone, my family and I celebrated Easter together, our school’s break ended, and our school year was shortened by a week.
I never thought of how bizarre it would be to celebrate Easter virtually, until I found out that the quarantine would still be going on. What my family and I ended up doing was watching the Easter Liturgy which was being live-streamed from our church. Following the church service, my family and I ate our annual family Easter dinner. Although we did not have any family come over form Michigan, we ate the same meal as we normally do, my favorite being the French dish “Gordon Bleu.”
So other than the usual schoolwork, something unexpected happened recently. School was shortened by a week, and I’m not exactly sure why, but I think that it is due to the fact that finals were canceled. I’m honestly quite relieved that there will be less work and it won’t be as stressful.
Anyways, remember that safety and mindfulness is key in these trying times.
Bye.

Preparing for Easter
Hi everybody,
How are you all doing? I am honestly very tired right now, as I woke up only a little while ago. However, I am proud to say that this is most likely the earliest in the day that I have written and posted to my blog. Hopefully I will be able to keep this early writing schedule over time.
Easter is going to be extremely WEIRD this year. First we are stuck inside due to a virus, and now it’s SNOWING? So it can snow on Halloween and Easter, but not on Christmas.
Since we are stuck at home, my family and I are going to stream the Easter Liturgy at home, so we can watch it from Saturday night at 10 PM to Sunday morning at 2 AM. Then we will do as normally do and have Easter dinner together.
As of this morning, school has been fully canceled. We have e-learning for the rest of the year AND we get out a week earlier than we normally would have. Not to mention the fact that we still don’t have e-learning on Wednesdays. Other than the fact that we get way more homework, I like the new schedule very much.
Bye.

Staying Healthy
Hi everybody,
How are you all doing? I have been doing pretty well for the past couple of days. I’ve been doing a lot of work, but I have had plenty of time to rest during the break.
I was going to write yesterday, but I had a lot of work to catch up on before my break ended, and I was not able to write due to this fact. To make this up to you all, I made it a priority to write early today, and I will also be doing the same tomorrow.
On another note, just recently my family and I wanted to come up with a way to stay healthy in the midst of the quarantine. So, to do this, we are having a family fitness challenge. To win this challenge, we must have a good workout routine and stick to it. Even missing one day can lose it for them. The competition will be going on for a month, and whoever wins it will receive a prize. Currently, I am on the path to winning the competition, as long as I do not deviate from my routine and schedule.
Stay safe and stay fit, don’t forget to also spend time with your family. Have a nice evening.
Bye.

Tuesday, April 14
Hi everyone,
So lately everything has been pretty much the same; the last week, the weekend, and so far this week too. My Easter break is ending on Thursday, so I am going to have to finish up my homework and start waking up early to make it to all of my classes on time. Lately, I really have been disliking e-learning and it is really starting to get old and annoying, especially with this whole quarantine thing STILL going on. Anyway, the quarantine will probably end soon enough, so everything will go back to the way it was before.
Next up, I needed to do an English assignment where I go outside by myself with no electronics, and later reflect on it. Honestly, it was kind of relaxing to be outside and away from everything; but it was more annoying than anything. The reason I say that is because I have bad environmental allergies and I was sneezing for a lot of the time.
Other than that there isn’t much more I can really say except to stay safe, stay clean, stay healthy, and that I will be writing to you all again tomorrow (hopefully at about the same time).
Bye.

The Stress of Homework
Hi everybody,
How have you all been? I have been pretty annoyed lately, due to all of the homework I have that I talked about yesterday. So far since then, I have done about an hour and a half of math, half of my English FRJ (stands for final reading journal and is a series of essay questions), and my biology worksheet assignment. I would not be too particularly annoyed if it were not for the fact that I don’t know ANYONE else outside my school who got this much homework. Absolutely no one. Even many people who go to my school do not get nearly as much homework as me by a longshot.
Homework aside, I have been enjoying spending time with my family and time talking with friends, and I hope that you all have as well.
I hope and pray that all of you, your relatives, and your friends are all safe and healthy from this virus. Remember to wash up and to remind your family to do so, also be especially wary about the things you come int contact with during this international lockdown.
Sorry again for the late post, I didn't really get around to writing until later.
Bye.

Stay calm and relax
Hi everyone,
To start off, I hope that my tips on what to do to stay occupied have helped you out in these tough times. I will most likely update you all and make another one either next week or the week after. Remember, if you yourself have any recommendations, feel free to say so in the comments. Your advice is greatly appreciated!
I am not sure about the rest of you, but I have a whole lot of homework stacked up on my plate for the next week or so. I have an Italian project, an engineering project, an English project, a speech to prepare, and a HUGE eight hour math assignment. Due to this I will most likely be writing a little later on in the day, just like I did today. I will try my best, however, to write and post earlier on in the day.
Anyways, I hope none of you are stressing out because of the quarantine and the e-learning. The best course of action is to do all of your homework, relax, and not think about all of the issues. Also make sure that you wash up and stay safe.Have a nice evening.
Bye.
